That's strangely comforting.. but did she ever go through a heavy phase prior to being diagnosed? I gained 50 pounds because of it, and it took a year and a half to lose it. edit: @ heehee- usually hyperthyroidism causes weight loss, while hypo causes fatigue, bloating, weight gain, even hair loss! I'm sorry your dr got it wrong, it really sucks when they haven't got it figured out. OMG, I have an underactive thyroid. I was too superficial. Actually I requested my oldest medical records from 1999 when I very first saw an endo, and discovered to my dismay that my lab results show I was, and still am, HYPER thyroid, not hyPO. So all this time they put me on extra thyriod when I already made too much. Major, major damage. It messes with your head, seriously LOL I am not at all the same person now that I am taking a thyroid BLOCKER instead. Now I'm actually losing weight, slowly but surely. But I think these side effects happen even to hyPO patients, because when you type in thyroid and adrenal, even hypos will complain of adrenal fatigue ad bloating etc. Its just too potent I guess taken all at once and daily, since it stays in the body for up to 20 days- the doses are actually cumulative!
