David Beckham won’t be acting

While I would love to call out David and Victoria Beckham as being two completely delusional celebrities, the footballer and his chavvy WAG trying to make it big in across the Atlantic, I have to say that they are rapidly becoming one of my favorite couples. Mostly because of his Armani underwear campaign.

Despite the idea that they are aiming out of their reach in Los Angeles, Posh and Becks seem to have an excellent idea of their limitations. David has just signed on to a brief football holiday in Milan to increase his chances of playing for England again. Despite his physique-based celebrity, the footballer says that he won’t be trying to translate his fame to film roles.

He may be pals with Hollywood’s elite, but David Beckham has no plans to head off the soccer field and follow his friends on to the big screen.

“What film career? I haven’t got one,” the soccer star told British GQ’s December issue.

Beckham, who is celebrating two decades as a soccer star, appears on the cover of British GQ, which is also celebrating it’s own 20-year anniversary (as a magazine). In the mag, Becks explained he had no plans to expand his resume to include movie work.

“Never say never, except about that,” Becks said. “And that’s the way it’s going to stay.”

NBC

Victoria Beckham, had a successful guest stint on Ugly Betty (more successful than some actual actresses guest appearances), but also denies that she will be moving into acting, admitting that she is a ‘terrible actress’.

Rumors are swirling that the Beckhams are heading for divorce, but I don’t think so. I think they seem very happy together, they are one of my favorite celebrity couples. If for no other reason than Victoria and her footwear gives me a foolproof guideline on how not to dress to pick my kids up from school.

Hear hear I love them too! Very entertaining and endearing duo.

  2. Ron says:

Just because you are beautiful does not make you an actor. Please refer to Cindy Crawford. Good on him for knowing his limitations.

  3. Syko says:

I like these people too. While I might wish she’d opted for a slightly smaller, more natural looking fake bosom, they do seem to care about each other and are doing a good job raising their kids. I appreciate happy families.

And despite snide rumors, Victoria does not seem to be trying to persue any sort of acting career.
I agree that they DO know their strengths and, while fully taking advantage of their celebrity to endorse products, etc. at least they stick to things they can reasonably endorse…say, underwear…(big, happy sigh!)
