Here are some photos of Julia Roberts at last night’s premiere of Fireflies in the Garden, that movie where she plays Ryan Reynolds’s mom. They shot the film back in 2007, and it’s like Ryan wants no part of it – he didn’t show up for the junket, and now he didn’t even show up for the premiere. Haha, this film must suck.
Anyway, let’s talk about fashion first – Julia’s outfit is kind of meh, but I think it looks good on her. Lately, she’s been covering up a lot, and sometimes her style seems too matronly for a 40-something. But this is covered up and cute. Oooooh, nevermind. I just saw the sheer blouse and how it seems like Julia isn’t wearing a bra.
Yikes. No, this outfit is a train wreck. And the blazer is too big. But my least favorite thing is that Julia’s penchant for giant necklaces. It feels like she does a big necklace for every red carpet, and it’s boring. It also draws the eye to her face, which…
…It’s jacked, right? I’m not have a Claritin D hallucination? There’s Botox and lip injections happening in this mess, correct? I’ve always thought that Julia had her eyes done several years ago, but I’ve never really paid attention to anything else. In these photos, I’m really noticing how her forehead doesn’t move (plus that Botox vein). I’m also noticing how crazy her lips look. CB said that in closeups during Eat, Pray, Love, she thought Julia was getting lip injections too.
Last year, in an interview with Elle Magazine, Julia denied ever touching her face, though. She pontificated, “It’s unfortunate that we live in such a panicked, dysmorphic society where women don’t even give themselves a chance to see what they’ll look like as older persons. I want my kids to know when I’m pissed, when I’m happy and when I’m confounded. Your face tells a story and it shouldn’t be a story about your drive to the doctor’s office.” O RLY?!?

The lips and forehead definitely looked like she’s had them “done”. Also, that blazer is way too big.
Her eyes are freaking me out. Why are they so…open. Is that botox? I always associated it with a facelift.
Also, I have that vein, no botox here, but it pops up…usually during exam week.
1. She’s smiling in that pic, not frowning, why would her forehead wrinkle? And forehead vein getting bigger because of botox is an urban myth.
2. Don’t see lips injection either. If anything her lips are smaller now than they used to be and more heavily wrinkled which is normal thing to happen as you age.
I see a little Botox around her eyes and in her forehead, but I think she looks pretty good! Her lips look totally normal, and thank god she’s covering up a little bit. I think she looks age-appropriate and lovely. She looks happy.
The dress is a little meh, but it’s not a total misfire. The shoes are pretty great.

Third picture — that’s why people call vaginas a “vertical smile”.
She has always had a forehead vein, just like Angelina Jolie. And forehead veins are unrelated to Botox use.
I think her face looks totally normal, not jacked at all.
She looks like Taylor from Real Housewives BH in the first photo. Yikes.
Her bra is clearly visible in the second photo. I would have preferred she not wear one than wear a white one that we can see thru the sheer black blouse.
I’ve never thought she was pretty, that her mouth is just too damn big. That second picture is a great example: my God, she’s smiling so hard her face is going to crack. I think that’s what is making the vein pop.
As for the outfit, it just doesn’t even fit together, any of it. Why??
Tweaked? No. She always had that mouth, and her face doesn’t show a Botox look…she’s just aging, and becoming the hag she has always been – overrated and bitchy. It’ just more clear as years passe.
Never understand all the fuss over her. She always seemed like a loser, especially when she just had to have that loser husband of hers at any cost.
She’s beautiful.
She has always had horrible style. I don’t know what it is. She looks good otherwise. A good stylist would go a long way for her.
At first glance, thought this was Taylor Armstrong…not a compliment…not a Julia Roberts’ fan, though.

The problem with lip fillers is that, even when you recommend to keep them natural, doctors tend to gradually increase the quantity of filler, and after some years your mouth starts looking inflated.

im sorry but i have to disagree with the botox and injections.julia’face is natural.im not a fan of julia and i don’t find her that pretty but she has charisma and i like her smile.i can’t understand why you said vien in the forehead means botox.i don’t believe this at all because i have vien in my forehead which becoming more visisble as i get older.i just hit 40 and never had botox in my life.never aware of this thing just lately and will never do it of course.

I seem to be ranting a lot this morning but messy and long silly hairdoes really drive me over the edge – at least get a hairdo that is neat and attractive.
I like the outfit well enough but agree the jacket could be better fitted. She should continue showing off her great legs. As for her face, I can’t really tell if she’s tweaking or not. I see lines and she’s always had an odd mouth. There’s just something about her that’s off-putting and unattractive. Arrogance and lack of warmth maybe.
Great legs but she always looks like hell. Her face freaks me out like Anne Hathaway. They both have very exaggerated features.
She looks odd but again, I always thought she looked odd. I have never understood the appeal of this woman. I have never been a fan of her acting.
I think, for the most part, she looks great. I do think she has had something done as her skin is tighter although I don’t think she’s had filler in her cheeks. Her eyes look great. Her lips definitely look like they have filler. It’s more evident in the fourth pic. They look almost lopsided. What I can’t get past is her two front teeth. Ugly!! She really should get them fixed.
I agree with @ tracking. There is something unattractive about her – arrogance, entitlement, perhaps? Ironic because she really isn’t much of an actress IMO.
I am only seeing the movie because RR is in the movie. I have not seen one her movies, since Pretty Woman.
It must be sad to age in Hollywood. Show your age and you are actually out of a career. Few survive the age factor. While men are basicly ageless.

Kaiser re: Reynolds not showing up b/c this movie sucks, name one Reynolds movie that is actually critically acclaimed just one and no The Proposal was shit too, it just made money unlike any other movie Reynolds has been a part of.

She really, really should hire a stylist. I can never understand why, with all the money and all the options at her fingertips, Julia insists on dressing like someone’s mom … someone’s 65-year-old mom (no offense meant to moms). She has unlimited resources and a fairly good body … why not show it off? Instead of which, she generally looks like she just got back from a Realtor convention (no offense meant to Realtors, either). Or like my mother.
I mean — just think, what any of us could or would do with that kind of money! We’d be dressed to the absolute NINES.

I think it would be naive to believe that actors don’t get some work done.
They all do, some more, some less.

One of my friends from school was attending university in L.A.
She was saying that in other parts of the country women have monthly hair, manicure, pedicure and waxing appointments booked, but in L.A. these are weekly appointments.
Instead of monthly facials they have monthly laser peels and so on.
It’s a pretty unique job and what one looks like matters almost as much as their acting, especially for women.
How many ugly, fat superstar female actors can you think of?
I’m no fan of Julia, but she looks pretty good and appropriate as an actor and a mother of three children.
Would look better, if she would cut 3-4 inches from her hair, she is not 24 anymore.
She is not overdone like Beyonce and she didn’t let herself go as so many women in the country do after the age of forty.
I’m not a huge fan of hers so I have no reason to be on her side but I’m not seeing the plastic surgery. She lives a healthy lifestyle and is wearing very little make-up. I think she looks great.

Julia, her husband Danny Moder (he was director of photography), Hayden P., the director Dennis Lee, and one of the kids in the movie were all there.
She’s a very fortunate woman to have made it so big in Hollywood, not that attractive certainly with those deformed looking lips.
i think she’s always had big lips, but probably has some tweaking done like everyone. i think her face looks great. love the hair and makeup, and her legs look so awesome that it doesn’t really matter how crappy her blazer fits.
Julia’s always had crappy taste in clothes, but I dig that she’s dressing the way she wants to.

I think she looks great here, She does not look to have botox, She seems to be aging well and naturally and that is always a plus for any women especially in Hollywood. I never thought she was all that great looking compared to how people were putting her up on this peddle stool when she first hit the scene but the older she gets to me the better she looks.
She is just so uniquely horrible that it’s kind of nice seeing how botched her face is getting, especially that jacked up lump on her lower lip. She never dresses well and even in that vintage Valentino she had to have hairy armpits like some chimp. Horrible, horrible excuse for a human being, I can only imagine what monsters she’s rearing. Thanks for sharing your droopy mom boobs, something I could have lived forever never having seen. I guess she’s delusional and thinks that’s sexy.

I have to say she almost looks pregnant. I don’t thinks she is, but she does look a bit thick around the middle and her arms.

I think she looks great. She could use a hit of crest white strips on her teeth, but her face and hair look fabulous. I love the necklace and the dress might be okay under the blazer, but the blazer and shoes look out of place. But other than that, she looks great.
I’m with #9 that Julia has always been overrated & bitchy. So annoying that she said that bull about plastic surgery! And then she’s clearly gettimg some! Something about her face is jacked – I think you might be right about the eyes because they look almost ‘too’ good or maybe that’s just make-up? Forehead looks like she got some botox.
This woman has never been beautiful, but she looks so gross and plastic these days. It’s not age, it’s surgery, and those lips make me cringe.
