Not taking his side cause he’s straight up a thug, but some known facts:

Aw yes Soulja Boy, he is the number 1 reason i ended up with a band at my wedding. After my husband witnessed my very white (suburban) friends wasted and doing the soulja boy dance at another friends wedding he swore that we would have band NOT a DJ. The look on his face was PRICELESS!

Its unfortunate that he got arrested for having marijuana.
But I just wanted to point out that just because someone is a rapper, it doesn’t ALWAYS mean they are a thug or in a gang.
Hopefully, he’s smarter about his activities in the future.

As an AA, it’s always sad to see a young African American call himself a “soulja” or talk about his “purple hearts” as code for wannabe drug smuggling, gang member — even though it’s pumped up mostly fictional bragging for record sales — when we have so many heroes of all stripes in the armed forces.
Really, this small time low rent fictional “youtube thug” doesn’t have the discipline or heart to deserve to misspell his way into being called soldier.

@Caprice, when you have that kind of money and dont know what to do with it except by drugs n weapons what other label can you give him. He should invest that money back into to his neighborhood or donate some to the boys n girls club.

There’s a group called Chromeo that has a song called “Hot Mess”. It’s terrific — a sort of ersatz 80s synth dance music tune that is just a joy. Highly recommend.
