Hum….. the baby has a non-French name, which is weird when you think the father is president of France.
Her name is Giulia… which means Julie I think. It could be spelled Julia (old latin), but someone of the two thought it would be better in the berlusconian way : so it’s Giulia. I think that’s the mother’s choice. Maybe it’s a political statement, but I don’t get the benefit for the French population… which I am part of.
It’s an insult for french people that the baby doesn’t have a french first name,(you know, Carla’s first child is named Aurélien… perfect french style – why does she changed her mind ?) just like it would be an insult for US people to have a president who would refuse to swear by the bible.
It’s like that. French people care about names as symbols, because they’re not immigrants and they’re close to their roots (even if they pretend they’re not in some hot Paris circles).
Sarkozy insults us since 2007. Hope this will end on 2012. We want him out forever. I don’t think you even hated Bush like we hate Sarkozy. We hate him even more because he liked Bush, of course.
