Kaiser covered the bigger names at last night’s American Music Awards, but here we have some more fashion for you. To start there’s Jenny McCarthy in purple Victoria Beckham. I would like this dress with some sexy strappy heels, but those booties are too informal for the red carpet. I really like her hair, that sideswept look is so pretty. Jenny’s makeup is a little severe, but it’s not terrible.
Audrina Patridge still working it like it’s 2006. She has a killer body but that’s a dress for Vegas, not an awards show. Look at her ridiculous stripper heels!
Here’s Julie Bowen getting it wrong again in a sparkly stripe tube dress. Her legs look great, I’ll give her that, but she’s looking gaunt otherwise, and that hair! It’s too messy looking.
Mary J. Blige was bizarre in animal print Cavalli. The print on that dress is way too realistic and it has a weird effect on the eye. It’s like she’s wearing a Halloween costume, not a dress. Plus she’s got on huge earrings that don’t really go with the look. Fug.
Katherine Heigl was also in Cavalli, in slightly more flattering plunging chiffon. I swear I can see her implant scar in one of these photos, and that dress just emphasizes how fake her boobs look. Her hair is not cute at all like that, but it’s short now so she probably didn’t know what to do with it. Katherine and her husband, singer Josh Kelley, presented the award for best Favorite Country Album, which went to Taylor Swift.
And Nicki Minaj wore an Oscar de La Renta gown with a lace bodice and lime green bubble skirt. It’s like she’s channeling Lady Gaga with her fashion and Katy Perry with her hair. Minaj took home awards for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album, for “Pink Friday.” I do like her shoes, she picked some nice strappy heels that didn’t overwhelm her already overwhelming outfit. For her, this look is pretty decent.

I dislike her hair just because you can tell that she has naturally dark hair. I wonder what she looks like with her naturally dark hair?
See, I’m gonna give Julie Bowen a pass on this one — I love the dress, love the shoes, I even like the messy hair — complements the sparkly pretty well to have more casual hair. Better than she typically looks on the RC, anyway……

Yeah, I liked Julie’s dress, too, which I don’t usually. But she’s looking so skinny-those cheeks, my god!
Oy. I know she’s a marathon runner, but, um…maybe she could skip a few? She’s got a really beautiful face, but she’s bringing new meaning to the term ‘crater face’ with those cheeks. It just seems she’s doing her natural beauty a diservice, or maybe I’m tired of her character whining about Vergara’s character’s bombshell appearance on the show.
I also really like Nicki’s outfit. Her look is a little out there without being GagaInAnEgg out there. She brings the fun.
Yes, Gaga is tiresome, Minaj is refreshingly quirky.
Also love the VB dress, but the hideous bootie-shoes have got to go! (IMO, they should be worn with pants only.)
I also think Julie Bown needs to gain about 10 pounds, but I think she looks terrific here! The dress is playful and fun (great colors, too!), and I think she hit the perfect note for the occasion.
Regarding both dresses, It’s refreshing to see some understated sexiness in semi-formal wear–the boobs-in-your-face look gets old sometimes!
Minus the pink hair and weird choker thing, I’m suprised that I like the color combo NM is wearing. Hmmm.
I like Jenny’s look too but yeah, the makeup’s a little harsh. She can look a little harsh so needs makeup to soften not accentuate that.
I liked Julie Bowen’s total look… it looks appropriate for a music awards show.
Nicki Minaj looked good. For a change it’s something she could actually wear somewhere else.

The VB dress is gorgeous on Jenny. I agree that she should have worn nicer shoes. Something strappy and open toe. Julie Hss so much potential- who is doing this to her!? IMO Nicki and GaGa try way too gard to be different.
Katherine H looked so bland and boring. The VMAs is supposed to be fun and she went very plain and safe. I liked Jennys outfit.

I’m just grateful that Bowen covered up her meatless, boney rib cage and scary arms. Jenny has a smokin body and I would have loved to see her wearing Selina’s dress.
Love the VB dress but overkill on the make-up Jenny. Julie Bowen looks fabulous. The others look like hell.
Agree with your assessment of Jenny. Julie B, on the other hand, never seems to get it all together. Her hair looks post-gym to me, it really clashes with the metallic dress. A sleeker, smoother updo would have worked better.
JM’s dress looks fab; the booties are awful. I hate booties! Her hair and make up look a little goth to me though.

I really thing that the dress was too small for her but honestly, it looks like she was at least wearing a spanx or something. She could have looked much, much worse in that dress. I am not too sure why she keeps wearing dresses and outfits that do not compliment her current body type is beyond me!

Dress is pretty and Jenny is pretty but she needs half the amount of makeup she is wearing and her hair color is awful – very unnatural looking. She looks like a Dynasty character from the shoulders up. To much hair & makeup.

I agree that being covered up looks good on her, but I think her legs look like toothpicks and she looks really anorexic. That dress looks like it was made to cling, and all you see under it is a rack of bones. If the camera puts on 10 lbs I can’t imagine what she really looks like.
I like McCarthy but that is just super ugly – both the dress and the shoes. She has nice legs but that dress somehow manages to make them look a little chubby above the knee.

Jenny looks cute from the neck to the knee. Her make-up sucks, and the booties are a no-no. I think she would have looked stunning with dark hair and nude lips…Nicki is Nicki but I like that she didn’t go too over the top this time… Julie B looks like a glittery, anorexic MESS. Mary J always looks like she went from the trap house to the red carpet with that tacky out-dated tattoo.

I like the style and fit of Jenny’s dress I just wish it was a lighter color, maybe magenta…But I think she looks great, just maybe tone down the make up especially the lipstick. The look would have been really great besides the color for me if she would have gone for more of a natural nude makeup, But I like Jenny so Kudos!

I like the VB dress on Jenny, but the shoes are too “heavy” – a strappy sandal would indeed have worked better, and her lip color is a bit severe. But overall, she looks great. Love that shade of purple on her.
Julie Bowen is super thin but quite pretty. She needs a stylist (or a new one) in the worst way.
Y’all can judge me as much as much as you want but NM’s dress looks great on her! I actually love the colour. The choker is too much though, and I just wish she would stay away from the fug pink hair.

Jenny McCarthy looks fantastic. She has never looked better. I like the boots too, she could have done better – but she could have also done alot worse.
