Katy Perry wore this Vivienne Westwood to last night’s American Music Awards. Thoughts on the dress? It’s pretty. It suits Katy. It fits. It’s neither stunning nor vulgar. As for the styling, Katy’s hair situation is a damn mess, but her makeup looked decent (for her). Oh, and Russell Brand wasn’t with her last night. Because even though Katy has just announced that she’s going to take a “year off” to possibly start a family, Rusty couldn’t be bothered to show up for his wife. As I said on Friday, I’ll be willing to believe either extreme – either Katy is pregnant (or soon will be) with a band-aid to “fix” her marriage, or she and Russell are just over at this point. Does she look pregnant here? Eh. The Mail had another story this weekend too:
If Russell Brand and Katy Perry want to quash rumours that their year-old marriage is on the rocks, they are certainly going about it in a strange way.
Last week, singer Katy, 27, appeared on a U.S. chat show to talk about their plans to start a family, but privately she is telling friends her marriage is in trouble.
She is understood to have confided in musician Tore Nissen, who is playing in a support act on her California Dreams world tour.
‘Tore has been a shoulder to cry on for Katy,’ says a mole. ‘They get along well, so much so that his girlfriend became suspicious and joined him on the tour.’
Meanwhile, Russell, 35, jokingly took off his wedding ring as he announced plans for a stand-up comedy tour of U.S. colleges – and also poked fun at ‘sororities’ – female societies at universities.
‘I don’t know what a sorority is . . . except that they are sort of sex clubs for women,’ he posted. ‘I am going to learn first-hand about sororities.’

Ah, “Tore” is a dude. I had to read it three times to understand that (I’m slow this morning, don’t hate me). So Katy is possibly “crying on Tore’s shoulder” and/or boning him, while Russell is doing a college tour and flirting with sorority girls. Yeah… they said it wouldn’t last for a reason.

Hate the hair color and style but I think it looks pretty pulled back from her face. I don’t know what to think of the pregnancy rumors. She sure has a nicely rounded tummy, but that could be from anything, right?
I think this girl is so pretty but it seems to me that she’s been looking sad for a while. I hope they can make their marriage work because I believe they’re good for each other.

I say she’s preggers. Look at that tummy and those roots! Sure, the tummy could be caused by too much pizza and ice cream, but you’re not supposed to dye your hair in the first trimester. I can’t think of any other reason she’d show up to an awards show with her hair looking that bad!
I’d have grabbed a can of pink spray paint to touch up the roots……..but otherwise, this is actually a *good* look for her….

Nice Bride-of-Frankenstein magenta hair. Her usually-stupid face looks slightly less stupid here – something about the eyeliner. Also, she’s not making a stupid face for once.
I like the shoes, but they don’t go with the dress AT ALL.
You know, if she’s going to wear her hair a weird color like this, the very least she ought to do is to get the color all the way down to the roots, or to wear her hair in another style that doesn’t show such.

I don’t know why she thought it would be a good idea go to from dyed black to blonde, but I’m guessing the pink is on there because you just can’t bring up black dye to blonde without melting the hair chemically – so I think she decided to go pink to cover up the orange “mistake” color, instead of just going red, like everybody else.
The Pink is a big mistake. It looks like a beat-up old bathroom rug. She should have kept the dark, or brought the color up slowly.

I don’t like the pink hair but I think with this dress, the pink hair is acceptable. I think she actually looks cute. Nothing I would wear but Katy gets a pass because she is always rather quirky.
I have no idea if she is pregnant. It wouldn’t be a shocker since she is married and is about the age where people start to decide to start families.
Her singing isn’t the greatest but she is the first ever female pop artist to have 5 number ones off of an entire album so someone must like her. I watched her performance last night at the AMA’s and must say I was impressed. I’m glad she sang a song like that. Has me – a naysayer – question myself!

Katy’s vocals were great last night. But the actual dress she performed in to match her hair and guitar made her look silly. Too bad because it was a pretty ballad she sang.
I don’t think she looks pregnant at all. As for their marriage, I think Russell’s been on tour for awhile. Wasn’t that whole idiocy with the Canadian border police because he was going to a show? Maybe he’s just started doing US college campuses, but I think he’s been on the road in other countries at least since the beginning of summer.
I kind of want these two to make it for some reason. Maybe it’s because no one else thinks they’ll last; I love a good underdog relationship.
Unrelated to this article; Celebitchy, is there any way you could make an option to permanently disable the mobile site? I hate mobile sites. My iPhone loads the normal site just fine, so I see no reason to load a mobile version which cheats me of the pretty pictures I so often come here to see.
Don’t get me wrong; I enjoy the humor, wit and fantastic comments as well. But, I can have both with the regular site as opposed to a generic looking version of one with the mobile. I know there must be people out there who like mobile sites. But, I’m also sure I’m not the only one who hates them.

As for what you said about the mobile site. I checked on my IPod to see what you were talking about; there is a box at the bottom of the page that you can use to turn the mobile theme off.
I know you probably saw that, but I thought I should mention it anyway. Some peoples phones don’t load full sites very well at all, and sometimes there are issues with the size of the words, pictures, and links, so mobile themes can be very helpful to people with those issues. At least they added an option to turn it off.
I saw the button on the bottom of the page. But, for some reason it returns to the mobile version of the home page everytime I refresh the page. I know it’s kind of a small thing to complain about, but I figure I would want feedback on the site changes if I were CB.
To be honest, it’s really just the mobile home page that bothers me. The actual articles look fine. I know this type of site works better for some people, and I think it is nice to have the option to view it that way. But, lots of other sites have a “permanently disable mobile site” link on them, and I definitely appreciate that option being there as well.

Typically i cant stand the way she dresses. This is the first time i will say i like the dress and it works on her. Dont like the shoes w the dress. Should have been bright pink.

I dislike Katy Perry, she usually annoys me no end, but I have to say I think this outfit works. I like the cut of the dress very much. Not so crazy about the print, or the colour of the shoes, but we can’t expect better from katy. Her hair and makeup are very pretty for her, and overall I’m quite impressed.
She and Russell should have never married.
If she would tone down that drag-queen make-up and get a decent stylist (and never, ever sing), she would almost be tolerable.
I hope she and RB are still getting along and she is pregnant (with his kid) and things work out for them. Besides that, my son has a bedspread made of that fabric. I like the style of her dress, (sans blue shoes) but the fabric looks better as a bedspread.
I think Katy is really naturally pretty. But I think her cartoonish look takes away from her pretty face. Lose the pink hair and blue shoes and dress like a grown up already. I hope Brand treats her right.

OK everyone. Here we go. There are 2 scenarios here.
1. Russell gave Katy an ultimatum and they are really married. And she is having the band-aid baby after she has a few months of rest. That would mean she’ll get pregnant sometime in February. That’s not to say she won’t plan to record an album because she’ll probably assume she won’t have a nightmare pregnancy with complications because, you know, Jesus likes her better than other women.
2. Scenario two is this, the career motives: Dr. Luke is not able to work with her. If she lets her contract with EMI run out instead of contracting for a third album then SONY might pick her up. If that doesn’t pan out, she will have time to regroup to find someone with the hit making ability and re-imagine her image. The drama with Russell is help to sell this last stinker to make it the devil’s even 6 hits. She is in a huge power position right now and I’m glad she’s taking her time because for all you out there that hope this is it, you’ve seen nothing yet. There’s way more in there. She can write her own ticket right now. Even though Luke wrote that stuff, it’s her schtick that pushes that crap. I also know she wants to act. This break frees her up for a feature or two. She must remember that feeling after the first album when people looked at her really skeptically. Now she’s matured as a performer and has authority. No one can tell her what’s what now.
In case 1: good luck to her. If any man told me to rush anything, including putting makeup on, I would deck that b$stard and kick him to the curb. Case 2. Smart moves, but keeping Russell is also not good. The longer she keeps him, the more money he’ll take from her when they finally split. And it will happen. They are fundamentally unsuited to each other. He is complicated and she has no idea what he’s got in store for her. I’d dump him and boom, album three! I get why she’s with him, I’ve got awful taste in men too. But when you hit your late twenties, as least for me, I found I developed an appreciation for a different sort of man who doesn’t give you anxiety nightmares. I hope it is scenario two because if I had her life, I would make sure I took full advantage of every opportunity and get respect. She hasn’t realized her creative potential yet. Anyone that knows her early work knows who she really is. I wish she would push herself after a deserved rest and show people that that real stuff can sell too. She’s half way there, but if she shows the substance she left out of TD, she will blow people away. But she can’t change Russell’s diapers at the same time. Honestly, good luck to her. I hope she takes it to the next level.
It really is a beautiful dress, and she could wear it well if she could just wear her own hair! Also, less cleavage would be more tasteful, although every woman in H’wood does it, regardless of bust size, and whether the boobs are real or fake.
I was about the same bust size at her age-she isn’t pregnant, just squeezed into that dress. Wait until Katy really gets pregnant-it will be obvious!
