I can’t believe it’s that time of year already. I feel like Christmas is breathing down the back of my neck with demands to clean, cook and shop. There’s a lot of stress associated with Christmas, but it’s also a pretty special time. I love experiencing it now through the eyes of my seven year-old son. He gets so excited about Christmas!
Anyway Jessica Alba and Jennifer Hudson were the paid celebrity guests at the “The Swarovski Elements Lighting Ceremony” on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills yesterday. I’m putting that in quotes, because before I saw the photos I thought it was a lighting ceremony for an actual Christmas tree, but it’s more like the lighting of a DNA helix on its side. They should have thrown a real tree in there to make it look more festive. As it is, it’s kind of sterile and not really in the holiday spirit.
Both Alba and Hudson looked the part in crisp white outfits. Alba wore this white Carolina Herrera A-line dress, which I love. I could do without the wavy black belt, which is a feature of the dress, but still it’s so cute. It’s perfect for a holiday event. The snakeskin shoes are kind of strange with it, and I don’t like her raccoon-like makeup, but overall it’s a great look for her.
Jennifer Hudson also looks good here, and I like the combination of that hot pink dress with the white coat. Her lipstick color matches her dress perfectly. The dress is a little short and those booties have got to go, but that gorgeous coat looks so elegant. That coat is killer! I want it, but I know I would get that thing dirty within an hour. Redcarpet-fashion awards points out that it’s Versace, and they linked to a shopping site where you can buy it – for about $5,000. I’m hoping Hudson had it comped, she probably did.
Also, doesn’t Hudson look a little Botoxy here? It could be due to her eye makeup, but her eyes are looking turned up to me. I really like her makeup though.
Speaking of getting stuff comped, look at how thrilled they are to get new iPads engraved with Swarovski Elements on the back. Lucky bitches. They probably got paid well over $10k just to show up too. Evil Beet has an article today that I found alternately infuriating and fascinating. It’s all about how much celebrities get paid for stuff. They can be paid $10,000 and up just to wear certain clothing labels, which are of course provided to them free of charge. Nice work if you can get it.

What has JHud done to her face? She was so pretty before. I hope she’s not going the Megan Fox route and end up looking other-worldly (in a bad way).

I cannot remember anything noteworthy after “Fantastic Four”, which was mediocre for a comic-fan like me.
She’s in that kid movie….forget the name, with Joel McHale…also she was in that killer movie that went straight to DVD (Go figure) with Casey Afleck and Kate Hudson. Apparently she thought her “work” in that movie would get her an Oscar nom. HAH.
Alba looks kind of odd here….dont know what it is? Anyone else think so? Normally she’s sexayyy!!!!
I think she looks kinda sad….either that or she is just bored.
Cash is bi-racial and most of us mixies can pass for hispanic so I am not surprised they look similar 🙂
I love the dress JA is wearing. And, dare I say, I think she looks fabulous and happy. Like a real smile on her face for once. She does look a little different to me. Not sure if it’s post-baby weight in her face or different makeup or what, but it definitely works for her.
As much as I find JAlba beautiful (even without make-up), here she seems to have applied a ton of white powder on her face!
Cash Warren looks like a young Ricky Ricardo. LOL!

Courtesy of Google, I find that Warren’s dad is African-American actor/athlete Michael Warren. Which I never knew until today, but it explains why I thought there was something familiar looking about Cash.
I’m usually very underwhelmed by Jessica Alba, but she looks very lovely here.

They both look lovely and appropriate for the occasion- although I can’t really tell what JHud is wearing, she’s well covered up by that coat. But then, you know, it is winter.
After yesterday’s post with JHud in that horrible silver handkerchief-dress I actually started to wonder if she was really a big girl and that that was the reason she looked bad now that she’s lost so much weight. You know, as there are women who really aren’t meant to be that thin. But now that I see her standing next to Alba, who’s positively tiny, I can tell that JHud isn’t a big girl by any means, either. It looks like she’s not even as tall as I thought.
Ugh, I think Jennifer Hudson should have just lost the 40 or so pounds that she had to gain for Dream Girls, and stayed like that. Sure she was fat, but she looks much better with her face fuller….to me she looks like a horse. She looks so much better when she auditioned for American Idol. Not everyone is meant to me skinny.

Judging from their facials, Jennifer is
naturally much bigger than Jessica(and
in all other areas), and shouldn’t let
Hollywood convince her that there isn’t
an audience for larger women out there.
Jessica is the extreme thin(not anorexic),
but much smaller boned and about 4 ”
shorter than Jennifer. Jessica is smaller than Jennifer regardless.

makes Jessica Alba look small. Didn’t
like their clothing. Maybe the time
of the season would suggest better
attire. Jennifer looks to have great
breasts and Jessica appears to be
nicely streamlined. Again. The winter
clothing isn’t too revealing.
It is an interesting comparison of the
two. I agree with the above. Jennifer
seems much larger than Jessica(breasts!)
even though she’s lost weight. Is the
industry correct in assuming all men
like larger breasts and does Jessica
need a fake silicone job? From observing,
Jessica seems to do pretty well without
one.
