These are some photos of Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco from this past weekend’s celebration of Monaco National Day. Albert and Charlene did a balcony wave, they went to church to…? I don’t know, get a blessing? Mass? I’m not Catholic, and all of those Catholic things are a complete mystery to me. For the big day, Charlene wore this conservative beige suit that doesn’t really suit her, and she had her bangs (trauma) front and center. Still, she looked happier than she has in a while. She’s slowly coming around, or they readjusted her meds or…
…Maybe she’s pregnant? That’s the royal muttering around Europe. Style watchers have pointed out that Charlene has been wearing some looser clothing as of late, plus her schedule is looking a little light in the coming months.
“I love children, and I simply can’t wait to have a family of my own.” Speaking shortly before her spectacular wedding, Princess Charlene was clear about her desire to become a mother. And she’s always very attentive to youngsters she meets in the course of her new role as the first lady of Monaco.
Well, her dream may be about to come true, according to the latest rumours.
For a recent church service, 33-year-old Charlene, a former Olympic swimmer, who usually favours figure-hugging outfits that show off her statuesque figure, was elegant in a loose taupe dress under a black jacket.
Meanwhile, the Palace has announced a new Facebook site to replace the one created for the nuptials in July – leading to speculation that aides are clearing the way for their most important news yet.
Further fuelling reports, she’s also left her new husband Prince Albert to carry out a number of engagements on his own.
Although the South African beauty did explain her absences during a recent interview, citing the need for “a bit of a break”.
If an heir to the Grimaldi legacy is on the way, the news will be greeted with excitement in the principality.
When she stepped out on Sunday with Albert, his sister Caroline and her 12-year-old daughter Alexandra, the entire royal party received an enthusiastic reception from well-wishers.

I sincerely hope Charlene is knocked up. I say that because I think Charlene seriously considering leaving him and annulling the marriage, but she decided to stick with it for however long she could. Meaning, until she provides an heir. So I hope they get on that quickly. Here’s my guess: Charlene will announce her pregnancy before Duchess Kate. But what happens if Charlene has a girl? They would have to try for a boy, correct?

I think Charlene will always have a problem standing straight when she’s next to her husband. For a price, the man is awfully… toady.
Of course she’ll announce her pregnancy before Catherine. For all their flaws, and her submissiveness, Catherine and William seem like a real couple, and like a real couple, will probably try to schedule the pregnancy for a suitable time. Charlene is basically a hired servant with a mandate to produce an heir (and get out of there as fast as possible).
I really have trouble feeling sorry for this woman. Yes, the circumstances surrounding her marriage and attempted escape were dramatic. But if she really did not wish to be married, she didn’t have to stand at the altar and say yes. She’s well into her 30s — this is not a little girl. Plus, he was always sleazy, unattractive and cold. While she might not have known about his infidelities, she must have been aware of all these things. What attracted her to him was his money and status. Frankly, she’s no better than Kim K.
….or Diana Spencer who could also have saved herself a lifetime of unhappiness if she had left Prince Charles at the altar. She knew all about Camilla, even that he had spent the night before the wedding with her and yet she still walked down the aisle. I guess the money,palaces,jewels, and that title were just too tempting.

It’s the neckline on that suit that is ugly. I love the slit sleeves that show off the matching leather gloves. But are nice clothes worth having to get it on with that toad? For her sake, I hope she does have a boy on the first try!
um your not supposed to announce a pregnancy before 12 weeks because that’s when the risk of miscarriage is highest and like celebs Royals don’t get a private life. Just look at Princess Grace’s history inbetween the births of Prince Albert & Princess Stephanie in a two year period Grace lost eight pregnancies then took a 2.5 year break from trying then conceived Stephanie in late april 1965 and she was born February 1st 1966 11.5 weeks after her 36th birthday leave Charlene and Kate alone maybe they don’t want to rush into having children not all women do

I think Albert was totally whacked and selfish to even get married. This is all about his ego and wanting to have his own legit heir. He should’ve just lived his life as a bachelor and then passed his title onto Andrea Casiraghi, who seems to have been in a loving relationship with his girlfriend for something like 10 years now.

You are right in that if Albert has all daughters the oldest daughter can inherit the throne. However Monaco still has the male-preference primogeniture succession so if a boy is born after 4 girls he gets the throne.

I’m all for her popping out an heir and then leaving him! However, in Catholicism, if they DO get the marriage annulled, any children they had during their marriage would then be considered bastards (ridiculous, I know). Would that child be able to inherit if she left him?
So maybe there is no ‘get out of jail free’ pass for her?
Well, first of all in Catholicism, to get a marriage annulled you NEED A VALID REASON. E.g. marriage was not consummated, or one of the parties misrepresented themselves (as in, possibly, was sterile but witheld this detail). It is obvious that if there were to be a baby from that union, that in itself would invalidate the annullment conditions. So they either go ahead and have a child and then GET DIVORCED or she simply leaves (with ‘annullment’ if it makes you happy). But the scenario you describe would never happen.
I have too many friends who picked the wrong babydaddy & their lives are such misery. IMAGINE spawning with that disgusting toad, knowing your children would be subjected to his whims & the pressures of the life of a royal. Even though the Monegasque world is tiny, they are a nexus of evil. NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS would I consent to bearing that TOAD’s child. I’d rather be burned at the stake.
Good thing you didn’t marry him and in another universe where I would even be considered ‘appropriate’ for marrying him, I too, would take the pass and swim back home. But she married him. She married him. I mean, she chose him and she chose this family, so why the candlelight vigils? Are we to believe that she is the only person living who knows nothing of The Grimaldi Stain? I certainly don’t believe that. This family is nuts and that’s not breaking news. I mean, you only have to look at the offspring of the overly-venerated but undeniably beautiful Grace Kelly and it’s immediately apparent that something peed into that gene pool, but she marched on.
I always find it stunning that Grace Kelly had such unattractive children. Albert’s sisters are looking pretty rough these days and he’s completely gross.

They don’t need a male heir anymore – the constitution was changed to allow daughters to take the throne. Albert doesn’t even “need” an heir because Caroline and her kids can take over if he dies without an heir.

This information is incorrect. A Catholic annulment does not render the children illegitimate. The annulment merely acknowledges that one or both of the parties did not intend to enter into a sacramental marriage. It does not change the legality of the marriage or the obligation the parents have to their children.
The suit is a little ‘old lady’ to me. On my Mum I’d say it would be gorgeous. But she’s too young for that look.
Albert is quite toady indeed. He’s got a very bland face. To have to sleep with him I would need a raging haze inducing drug addiction. I’d then have to mix alcohol with it just to get through it. Poor thing. I will never forget her sobbing in anguish at the wedding. She was thinking of what she would have to do that night and couldn’t contain herself.
One baby and she is free.

I’m not really sure why Charlene gets so much bad press and criticism, some of it is very nasty – most by green eyes monsters who have nothing better to write about !!!!!
She is NOT the one with scandal, Albert is and she is the one that gets all the grief from it. I hope she does get pregnant and she proves to all the green eyes monsters out there that she is no different from any other woman starting a family and living happily ever after.
No. NEITHER Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (Not Duchess Kate-that’s disrespectful to call her that as it’s the wrong title entriely) or Princess Charlene will announce a pregnancy anytime soon. Both Prince William and Prince Albert are FAR to busy right now to be creating children and the ladies are still adjusting to married and royal life. I give it the next 5 years and Catherine MIGHT be pregnant. I highly doubt that Princess Charlene will ever be. Albert’s already disappointed two women and children-why disappoint a third set? any predictions before 5 years is way beyond absurd thinking.
