Here are photos of Charlize Theron last night at The Late Show With David Letterman (the black and white dress) and at the premiere of Young Adult in NYC (the orange dress). The premiere dress is Christian Dior. Thoughts? I like it, and God knows that Charlize is one of those rare bitches who can really work a shade of orange and somehow manage to NOT look like a traffic cone. That being said… there’s something off, I think. The fit in the waist and bust seems weird, and it just feels like the wrong dress to wear to a December premiere. Charlize is one of the faces of Dior, though, and I think she might be contractually required to wear Dior on certain red carpets. Hopefully, this was her third or fourth choice, and she’s got better Dior dresses for future events.
I am a bigger fan of the black and white Antonio Berardi dress – this would have made a killer premiere dress, I think. Much like Jessica Biel yesterday, I wish the “television appearance” cocktail dress had been the premiere look.
I’m including some closeups of Charlize’s face because something seems off to me. She doesn’t look Botoxed, but something is different? Is it her mouth? Has her mouth always looked like that?

While i love the color of the orange dress, it’s the fact that it’s made of leather that makes it hideous.

I don’t know…I’m almost sure she hasn’t had any botox. But I hate when people smirk like that. Hate it. Plus, I find off putting that her eyebrows show a slightly angry expression — in contrast with the smile. It makes it look like she doesn’t like being there but, because of the circumstances, is being forced to look like she does.
I agree COMPLETELY. She always has a look about her that what she is doing is “beneath her”.. and she has adopted a very smirky look about her recently in general. I don’t think it’s an intentional expression.. I think it is because her face gives her away, i.e. that she is bitchy. Like .. “all the time bitchy”… as Marjalane comments below. And I used to LOVE this woman. Still do.. but less so, because of her attitude that her face gives away. (And that 1000 yard stare that she has perfected doesn’t help.)
She’s had something done — tastefully. Slightly or here and there not BAM! all at once like Madonna.

Her smirky smile started after she broke up with her bf I noticed unless I didn’t notice it before …maybe she has that bitter smile about her.
I know it well so it’s all good. She will get over it in time.

Her nose is overly contoured in the black and white dress – which throws off her entire look.
She’s totally had botox at the corners of her mouth to counteract the muscles that pull the corners down. Unfortunately she overdid it and has that Meg Ryan/Joker look.

Ya I believe she has always had that mouth. But you never know, they all use fillers, etc. She looks so gorgeous in that black and white dress. I saw that Dior perfume commercial the other day and she really has that Hollywood actress of old beauty about her.
Totally. I remember that debate on the site a couple months ago about who should play Grace Kelly in a bio pic. Charlize Theron can definitely do that old-school hollywood glam.
It looks like she might have had some minor lip injections-(take note Lohan) but yeah, her mouth looks off. What really caught my eye was the look in HER eye; She just looks bitchy- like all the time bitchy.

re: the color of the dress. Pantone, the color people recently declared reddish-orange THE color of 2012. So of course Dior wanted to get their reddish orange on a high profile red carpet as soon as possible. Before it starts showing up en masse in Wal-Mart and J.C. Penney. You know how those fashion people are– they don’t want to lag behind Wal-Mart!

I agree the e Antonio Berardi dress looks better, but I think the TV appearance is more important, because millions of ppl watch the late show, while considerably less people may pay attention to the photos of a premiere. Her shoes she wore to the Late Show are very sexy, they make the dress look even better!

That mouth is the first thing I noticed in the header pic. I guess the time to do the plumping is a couple of weeks earlier, before the round of promo!
I agree on the waistline of the orange dress. If it was a tiny bit higher, everything (like the hip pleating) would have fallen into place perfectly.
In every picture, even when walking, her face expression looks the same. THAT is creepy. I think she lost some weight.
I think Charlize Theron looks very beautiful herself, It’s rarely anything she looks terrible in, but this is just not working or flattering for me on her. Maybe the material is throwing me off. I just notice the black and white dress that is prettier material and fit but I would like to have seen it in a solid color black or white.

She looks so good. nothing is wrong with her face people. she did not have lip injections. her lips always look like that . yes, she sometimes has a bitchy facial expression, but when you see her in one on one interviews she is divine-so nice, funny, and down to earth. i love that she is above the hollywood fray a bit. i wish she would be a bit better with these tv talk interviews though.

I have always been a huge fan of this woman, great actress and she is not a famewhore nor has she ever relied on a high rpofile relationship to get ahead (I am looking at you Blake!!!).
She def. has not had any botox – she has done a ton of interviews on tv and on-line and her face fully moves. Her cheecks have always been thif “full” and “plump”.
But I agree about the lips, its either a really great make up artist, or she has had some really well done injections in the upper lip, like I said I have followed her for ages and she always had thin lips. If she did have injections could Kidman take note of how it should be done.

I think both dresses are great. I’m a fan of orange because it suits my coloring, and I would definitely wear the leather sheath.
As far as the face goes… uh… I think she’s had botox. The eyebrows and lack of lines on the forehead make me think that (as compared to under her eyes). She looks good, but I think that the smoking is catching up under the eyes.

I think her stance and the way she walks is because she was a model. she knows how to move to make the clothes look good and she has great posture. Angelina Jolie is the same way. They know how to pose and make it look effortless. And Angie has amazing posture too.

imo she hasn’t had anything done to her face. she may look a little off, probably due to ageing. she is absolutely beautiful and you can tell that she hasn’t had any botox done on her face. there are wrinkles underneath her eyes and a slight wrinkle between her brows. her lips have always been that way:

She’s always has heart shaped lips. She’s always had full cheeks and bow lips. I noticed that in that film she made with Johnny Depp because there were so many close ups. I agree with you that the white and black is better. It just seems to suit her classy style better and she always looks best in white. Most beautiful woman in hollywood I think. And she is getting so many raves for her performance in Young Adult. Total package of beauty and talent.

I love both dresses, and she is so beautiful. BUT I’ve noticed that since she & Stuart split (I would climb that man like a tree & not let him go lol), she has lost that “spark” for lack of a better word. She hasn’t looked happy since. I think she is gorgeous but something is off about her. Seems she may have taken classes in the January Jones School of Pissy and Bitchy looks. Or maybe she is having a bad day.
