Last night, yet another CNN Heroes event went down in LA. I don’t begrudge CNN for hosting these endless events for heroic members of the community at large, but it really feels like they’re doing events once a month, and it’s started to lose some meaning. Anyway, lots of celebrities came out for the event. Let’s start with Mary-Louise Parker, who is one of my favorite ladies. Unfortunately for the MLP-fans, she looked like hell last night. WTF is going on with her hair? I don’t even think MLP has naturally curly hair, which means that a hair stylist came over and spent time making her look like this. Yikes. I’m also not a fan of the black doily and giant crucifix on her chest, but the hair is the worst part.
Here’s Emma Roberts in a little cocktail dress. It’s cute, but she feels too “undone”.
God, I feel like I haven’t seen Christy Turlington in a long time. I like her hair these days, but the dress is meh.
Sofia Vergara in Dolce & Gabbana. I’m kind of tired of her style lately. And I think she should have either gone with standard black shoes if she wanted to wear black hose, or just wore those shoes with naked legs.
Brooklyn Decker, or all people, is my choice for best dressed of the event. The dress is Christian Dior, and it’s adorable. Her hair is cute, the shoes are killer, and everything works. Well done, Brooklyn.
Miley Cyrus came to the event with her boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth. Miley wore this Roberto Cavalli which… looks so much better than the Jenny Packham dress she wore a few days ago. See what a good empire waist does for her? See what happens when you support your girls? While her hair is still rather busted, I’ll take this look over the Croydon facelift any day of the week.

Is it just me, or do Miley’s boobs look sort of fake here? It might just be a push-up bra or because she’s gained a little weight recently, but something about the way they’re separated; don’t implants usually look like that?

Add “maybe it’s the unflattering dress” to the possible list of explanations.
Also, don’t she and her boyfriend look basic? Like, they look like they’re headed to a Greek formal at a Southern college. It might just be their faces, but I think they’re style pushes them in that direction, too.
Idk man, my boobs are totes real and they look like that when under the influence of bra magic. Mine are smallish and not naturally round or close together — I just have an unattractive rack. She might have one too.
You obviously don’t know much about The Cyrus, she goes braless 90% of the time, they are really real. Also, she did three charity events this last week to sing, give out awards, and support a few of the TWENTY FOUR charities she’s involved with. It’s a shame she doesn’t get credit for those here, as a young woman.

MLP’s face looks rather Rumer Wills-like in these shots. I also hate the dress… too much lace and the v in the front of the skirt is strange.
Miley looks good but I wish her dress was shorter. Too nightgowney for her age.

Mary Louise Parker (a favourite of mine) looks jacked here – has she had work done on her face? It looks like it hasn’t settled yet.
I was thinking the same thing. I mean, really, really jacked–look at her mouth and jaw, and even the tight eyes. I don’t follow her much at all. Is this a noticeable difference? To me it looks pretty obviously “done.”
She can barely smile – a tad too much botox round the mouth? Why do pretty women do this to themselves?
Thinking the same thing. Her hair doesn’t look as bad as her outfit, crucifix, and frozen face. She’s definitely had some recent work done. It looks awful.
I have hair just like MLP…wavy and thick. It looks like she tried to make it work without having it blown out, au naturel, but it fell flat and frizzled. She needs to be styled. When she does herself, she’s a mess. That cross is the worst.
Miley’s makeup artist is really good, and her boyfriend is CUTE.

MLP looks horrible. I cannot understand what possesses a woman to think “Awards show? Black lace dress please.” I have yet to see anyone look good in black lace-it’s just really trashy and not forgiving. The hair and her giant cross necklace just make it worse. I love the color of Miley’s dress but she needs to hide the girls a bit more and maybe shorten the dress.
I disagree. While I’m not a fan of MLP’s dress, crucifix, or shoes, I think she looks like…well, MLP. She’s very pretty. I don’t care for Brooklyn Decker’s outfit at all – esp. the shoes. She is very attractive though. Emma Roberts – ugh! Christy Turlington – ugh! Miley Cyrus – just can’t get it right. Not a fan of Sophia’s outfit (incl. the black hose, which I know are making a comeback, but remind me of the 80’s). I think it was a bad night for all.
I love MLP but this outfit–complete with jet jewel cross–is perfect for a funeral. The lip purse is frightful. Definitely a *miss.*

i think the dress and hair are fine. to me the most immediate, glaring issue is that her face is TOO TIGHT. she looks like she can’t close her eyes normally. too bad.

I think MLP looks beautiful face and makeup wise, but I’m not feeling the dress, Miley on the other hand looks a lot better than she did in the last photo that was posted of her with her hair pulled back, I like the hair because it looks much more softer and it makes her look more like her age. Sophia outfit is not horrible but it’a not great, no one really wowed me in any of these pics.
It looks like MLP’s face has been Botoxed into submission.
Um. You consider THAT supporting the girls on Miley? Mushed flat and to the side isn’t supporting. Trust this natural 36F/G. Support involves some kind of structure and lift. Loose ace bandages does not support make.
I swear – should the day come when I am rich beyond words, I’m going to devote a good chunk of my life to going around the country teaching women the love of a good bra. Even gals with small busts need SOMETHING – else they will suffer the scourge of melted icecream ta-tas. I actually like her hair, and think the color of the dress is pretty on her. But for the love of all things holy – someone get that girl a decent bra!

Agreed. Aside from that, I really like her dress and styling! If she didn’t look like she was in a trance I think her hair would be more flattering.

MLP has had some major work done that has not settled. Her eyes did not used to look that scary. And you know if your eyes stay wide open when you ‘try’ to smile, you’ve over done the botox.
Sofia needs a new hairstyle. That one is getting old for every single event.

It may be just me but I’m loving the simplicity of Sofia Vergara’s dress…for the most part, it fits her well and nothing hangs out or bulges awkwardly. I agree however, she should have gone with a solid black shoe.
Now…Brooklyn Decker, I adore the hair, make-up and shoes….but the dress?? Well…kinda looks like a big shiny potato sack. I loathe it!

Brooklyns dress is AWFUL! Looks like asack. She can not dress for the life of her. She needs stylist. Usually like what Sphia wears but this is a miss. Miley needs to cover the girls up esp for this type of affair otherwise i like the dress.

MLP looks fine to me. I watch “Weeds,” so I’ve seen what she looks like recently. Over the course of the show, it’s evident that she has had some work done, but I honestly don’t see it here. She’s got laugh lines around her eyes. The dress & crucifix were poor choices, but face-wise she looks the same as she ever does to me. Also, everything I’ve ever seen her in, her hair is wavy or curly, and basically always looks the same, so I do think it’s natural.
I feel like she she is channeling Stevie Nicks here…
MLP has had so much work done. The first few years on Weeds she looked good, but the later seasons her face looks super jacked. Way too much botox!
Which, surprise! Because that’s the same expression she makes in every single shot of every episode. One of many reasons I stopped watching.
