On the basis of his first Bond film, Craig is the best Bond ever. In fact, closer to Ian Fleming's novels: tough, sadistic, perhaps masochistic, at times blinded by narcicisstic rage but still suave, smooth and gets the job done. Connery was the penultimate but he was able to do it over many films. Moore was insipid, Brosnan ridiculous, Dalton too stiff but George Lazenby actally did a great job in his one Bond film. Craig plays wounded but defended against it very well. A nuanced, complex and dangerous Bond. But mostly everything he says or does is believeable. We haven't had that since the earliest 3 films. I hope he remakes them all.

Connery was the best bond in IMO, then Roger Moore and then Pierce. I can take or leave Daniel, I don't find him attractive at all and I found the last Bond film dead boring, I'm sorry but I just don't find watching poker games in a film exciting at all! Yawn!

LOL @ RAN - that's the power of the Pierce

Connery was excellent lads, but I prefer the firm-but-fair characterisation of Brosnan to the undercurrent of cruelty of Connery. Now I know it's completely in line with the books - but as I said, I'm thinking of the Cubby Broccoli franchise. I love the idea of the Craig Bond is exploring how Bond becomes the way he does. It's a lesson learnt from the Bourne franchise which, from what I could see, was supremely popular with women.

Gotta go with Mairead on this one (Hey Mairead - We're on the same side of the fence for once  ) There are very few men as beautiful as Pierce Brosnan. I would love him in diapers! (weird, I know  )

The Bond's with him in them were the only ones I was interested in seeing...Sean Connery had it going on too, but I gave him up for Pierce. And...don't get me started on Remington Steele - still brokenhearted, to this day, that the show is no longer on.

:D Fair dues on overcoming such a handicap!

I do like him, Mairead, but authentic Bond to me is just, as others have said, craggier and rougher, and I like that it's come full circle - torch has been passed (with a few deviations along the way) from Connery to Craig.

Geronimo.. you have to admire anyone who has triumphed over the adversity of having a Navan accent  (for those of you who haven't a clue what I'm on about search youtube for Tommy Tiernan or Hector TG4. if you have a clue what the second fella says, I'll give you a lollipop).

No, I love Pierce as Bond because he was the perfect Cubby Broccoli Bond - intelligent, canny, doesn't suffer fools gladly, but is ultimately a gentleman with a sense of humour. I think he still had a few more films left, but they wanted to go another direction so...

I liked most of Die Another Day - the start was good and Halle was excellent (right Dante  ) - but Madge was a waste of celluloid and I hated the whingy pappa's boy back-story to the villan.

Daniel is good for the new generation Broccoli Bond, but I'm sticking to my guns on Pierce

 Mairead - Daniel Craig is ZOMG MORE REALISTIC, just sayin'. Not that realism is the utmost priority, but too many sequences of Die Another Day were un-f-cking-believable, it took me out of the film.

But I get it - Pierce is one of your people. He just never made me hot. Craig, on the other hand. *fans self* I love a craggy bastard.

Edit: V, Connery was The Best. Daniel can only live up to him if he starts randomly spanking the Bond girls. :)
