Here are some photos of Charlize Theron at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Saturday. Young Adult picked up an Ensemble Award, and Charlize and Patton Oswalt were on hand to pick up their trophies. Charlize’s dress is Lanvin (Spring 2012 dress), and that’s not a full slit down to the bottom of the dress – it’s a cut-out! Isn’t that weird? It’s a strange design detail, I think. And only a woman with Charlize’s figure could really pull it off.

Apparently, there have been rumors about Charlize Theron’s alleged plastic surgery for a while. I’ve never really thought her face looked “off” until the past few months, though. Here’s what I think happened: Charlize took a few years off, hung out, recovered from her breakup with Stuart Townsend, and then she filmed Young Adult. When it came time to begin promoting the film, Charlize went in for some “minor” cosmetic work, like some lip injections, maybe some Botox or just a slight amount of fillers. The work made her appear slightly puffy on some red carpets, and it gave the lower half of her face a weird stiffness. I don’t think this is the product of surgery, and I hope that Charlize stops doing whatever she’s doing. Her whole upper lip looks completely “off” to me. And she looks high as a kite, on top of all of that.

Agree. I think her lips are the same, they were never small but not overly large either.
I DO think she’s had work done though – eye lift / botox/fillers — but don’t think she looks bad, or it’s too much.. I think she is just doing enough to keep looking decent while she gets older.
What I notice more than any of those things is she never smiled anymore – and when she does she looks pained..her eyes look sad/defeated.
Hope whatever she is going through she gets better…

several years ago she had her eyes done.. there were pics that showed before and after.. believe it , don’t.. I don’t care. She’s almost 40, is in the sun a lot.. sorry I don’t believe it’s all “natural”.
And YES I KNOW everyone here on the internet is over 50, looks 25 with no wrinkles, no sagging, gets carded for ciggies and asked out by high school boys and yet.. all they use is sunscreen. I am aware.

Heh heh. Love Hadley’s comment about all of the freakishly youthful looking posters here, that always cracks me up. “She’s 19?! I’m 35 and she looks like she could be my mother!!!” When you go overboard to prove a point often you look a bigger asshole than than the old looking asshole in question! (that last sounded repellent, apologies)

Yes. That looks like a seam busted open. Poorly constructed dress. It’s so badly designed that it manages to give her a pooch in her profile pics. I know her stomach is flat. I think she could have worn better support garments. I dont think she is wearing a bra, which is a must for a structured dress.
I completely agree on the poorly constructed dress part. Everything from the elevated and squared off shoulders to the cut out near the hem. Very tall women tend to have broader shoulders, not a judgement, I am a very tall woman with broader shoulders, and those shoulder pads are not flattering. The cut out is distracting. She is gorgeous and that dress does not do her any favors at all.

I’m beginning the think that the red Cartier background isn’t really working wonders for a few actors. Angelina looked wan…Charlize looks just as pale and maybe this effect is also influencing our perception too.
As for the dress…the padded shoulder/sleeves look so out of date. It’s like she has found a dress from the 80s, that should have been burned. As for the tattoos…*sigh* They do ruin most evening wear ensembles. Especially when tattoos are in stupid places.

My diagnosis: her hairs too brassy and she needs to do her roots, the foundation is both to light and patchy, she needed some blush and mascara, and the black is to harsh on her skin considering all if the other problems. If the styling didn’t look like she just smoked a bowl and rolled out of bed, she’d be get usual stunningly beautiful self, she’s beautiful but looks tired/worn out bc if the bad makeup…

maybe she’s getting grey hair .. it’s harder to conceal and so time consuming to go in to get the dark roots done, the lowlights AND cover your grey.
I know woman who go to the salon every 2 weeks for touchups — they could care less about dark roots but the grey makes anyone look older instantly.

It looks like she definitely did something to her mouth. I noticed it a few months ago and then again in the latest Dior commercial. It looks like a scalpel sliced two slits on the side of her mouth. It is noticeable when she purses her lips and when she smiles it looks tighter than I remember– like a Joker grin. I don’t know why anyone that beautiful would start with the surgery.
That is one unflattering dress. The hair is bad. I don’t know about the lips. They are split across. That could be from fillers or just the way they are naturally. She still is beautiful though.

The shape looks decidedly different in the newest photos. And puffy.
Her eye makeup is off because she squirted visine in after it had been applied. It makes for that patchy, stuck together eyelashes look. Visine can make little particles of makeup float on your eyes, making them red anyways. You would think she’d be an old pro by now and use Opcon-A before her make up artist comes over.

Her lips have always been heart-shaped. You could catch any celebrity in an unflattering picture where they are about to smile and think something is off with their face. If anything she’s aging naturally and has lines on her face. That’s the only difference. You can see that in candids.
She looked like the classiest and most beautiful woman there at Palm Springs. She looks better than your goddess Angelina Jolie. That’s for sure. Of all the beautiful photos from that night you choose the most unflattering ones. Are you kidding with that second pic?
While I didn’t think she had ever had “plastic surgery” done, I did check out the before and after eyelift pics, and I have to agree with other poster, definitely not the same! Looks now like she is O’D’ing on Botox and Fillers. Injection sites are very noticeable, and you can see the filler under the surface (if you know what to look for). No need on someone with such natural beauty….
I think I could do a better dye job on her and Elins hair than their professionals. I’d like to give both some foil highlights in different shades.
Her face is the same, and you can actually see some fine lines under her eyes.
What’s different is her makeup. The eye shadow isn’t blended well and the lips are really pale. She usually goes for a darker lipstick. Plus she’s pursing her lips in one of the photos.
i’ve seen her in real life and she just looks normal. Basically she doesn’t run herself to death on a machine and thus has a naturally fully face like the rest of us.
The very first thing that I noticed is that there seems to be too many red undertones in her brown eyeshadow and liner. When you have pale skin, makeup of that hue can make you look like a re-animated zombie. That, or a plague victim. She probably wouldn’t have attracted so much negative attention had she re-thought the makeup and done a better job.
i like her, she carries herself well, she looks great most of the time, she looks tired. a lot of that going around lately. she’s not a attention seeker, she just do enough to keep working and lives her private life, good for her.

Very likely, yes, but for a period of years by now, EXACTLY like every other actress in Hollywood who is over 30 (certainly including Angelina Jolie). Do you actually know *anything* about Botox? It would seem not, as if you did you’d realize that it is usually done–esp. on movie actresses—extremely subtly and well, as Charlize’s has been. And if you *really* feel so sure she’s had her lips filled, why merely post the least flattering recent photos of her you could find? Why not post photos of her 10-20 YEARS AGO, as well, so that we’d have some way to actually *see* evidence that there IS any change? A bad Botox and lip fillersexample?: Nicole Kidman. Looked like she was about to cry in that middle pic. She was fantastic in the movie and is fearless about her looks. Love her.

I have admired her beauty for a long time. In recent pictures I’ve noticed how different she looks which is what prompted me to do a search and end up here. It has nothing to do with the pictures above or the expression on her face or whether she used Visine or not. She has done SOMETHING that changed her basic look and not for the better. She doesn’t look like herself anymore. I hate that.
