George Clooney & Stacy Keibler at the NBR Awards: adorable or trashy?

George Clooney took home the Best Actor Award at the National Board of Review Awards last night. And his Oscar-Date Barbie was at his side, of course. Stacy wore this Marchesa dress, which… what does THAT mean? Is she trying to get Harvey Weinstein’s eye? Does Stacy want to get into movies? Maybe she just liked the dress. Honestly, considering the kind of crap Marchesa usually puts out (ice skater fugness), this dress isn’t terrible. Stacy even looks kind of glamorous. Plus, her makeup improved here, especially since she was looking drag queeny in Palm Springs.

As for Clooney and what this award means, and his chances in the long-run for a Best Actor Oscar… I don’t know. The National Board of Review is one of the most prestigious of the critics’ awards, and the fact that they’ve anointed Clooney definitely helps his chances. Clooney is also helping himself by hustling harder than I’ve seen him hustle in previous years – I don’t remember Clooney doing this many television, magazine and newspaper interviews in a LONG time. And while he’s being interviewed, he’s doing the awards season dance – oh, he doesn’t care about the awards, but yes, he’s going to hustle and campaign because why not and why don’t you love him and just vote for him anyway? Whatever. Team Pitt. I would love to see Brad win over Clooney. And I would love to see Michael Fassbender beat both of them.

She looks good. I don’t get the trashy adjective.

I just think it was a bit too much for the event.. Maybe a bit overdressed.. but she looks lovely.

Whauw. He looks in serious pain in the third pic. His back must be killing him. And why (for the love of God why!) does Stacy always cake on the make-up. Isn’t she afraid it’ll melt off, especial under all that heavy lighten.

I don’t think it’s a PR relation. He does look smitten. Don’t get me wrong I think she ‘s the worst girlfriend he ever paraded but there’s something different in that relation. He looks proud of her and proud to be with her.
They are working too hard on the whitewashing for it to be only a fling.
They are preparing her to be the legitimate girlfriend and I believe she’s here to stay. At least she is doing everything right so far to stay, besides for once he doesn’t have to tell that one to smile or to look at the camera! She looooves the attention it’s scary. I even had to check again that it was George Clooney who was awarded and not her!

Wow! That “From the People Archive” was great! IMO Clooney looked like a movie star from the late 90s until around 2005. He’s really aged since then. It also shows that it’s true some people definitely do look better as they get older. Unfortunately, I think his lifestyle has caught up with him – he looks older than my dad, who is 16 years older than GC. :(

Beauty pageant gown. She needs a sash that says Miss “George Clooney’s current piece” America. However- on the upside, if George decides to enter politics, she has a perfect politician’s wife, face.

I like the dress, but hair and makeup needs to improve on. He is working hard to campaign for the Oscars, she is also working hard to get noticed. I think she will be around for awhile until she gets tired of having the identity of being George Clooney’s girlfriend and wants marriage and children.

I like the dress and I like this date better than the last few. She’s probably strong enough to hold him up when he starts looking like he does in picture 3. He looks pretty grey faced in a couple of those shots.

You know, this eternally selfish bachelor thing is cute when they’re in their 30′s, but when you have a man Clooney’s age it’s just not attractive anymore. I find his “use” of women disgusting, and I find their willingness to sign up for it pathetic. He obviously loves having a woman around but has no room in his heart for actual partnership with one. On the upside, at least he’s not schtupping 25 year-olds.

I know I don’t know her, but I don’t mind her. Her styling is busted at times, but she looks like she’s a nice person. She doesn’t have a bitch face. At the very least, she’s enjoying her time in the Clooney Club.

what if he is one of those people who cant fall in love and lest he break someones heart he dates contractually …this way it is spelled out in b&w. im sure many do hope they will be the one to change him but they cant say they didnt know the game plan going in. imo it is still soul detroying to waste time on someone you know wont ever love you back, but maybe for some the temporary spotlight and the payoff is worth the risk. its just a theory :)

This a good look for Stacy.

I like that the dress for bringing attention to her shoulders. Versus it being too short and bringing attention to her hoo-ha.

Her hair is a great improvement, from that unfortunate bump-it episode.

Granted she has a lot of forehead. But this is still acceptable looking updo for her. The soft side swept bang made it look, less harsh.

And the reason it looks like Stacy’s face doesn’t match her body, is from the extreme use of the flash from the photographers.

In some of the photo’s her face looks balance to her body color. So it’s just too much flash.

  27. Cody says:

I saw this interview from last night on You tube from In touch with George and Stacy. The reporter asked “What’s the nicest thing about bringing Stacy to award season?” His answer, “She classes up the event.” He looked uncomfortable when asked the question and then I found that a strange response. First of all really George that is what you think is classy. This is coming from a guy who suppose to be the mayor of holly wood. Coming from a man who has hung out with some beautiful A-list actresses. Also, he didn’t say “Ilike having her around or nice sharing these awards with her or enjoy her company.” Which makes me think is this a real or fake relationship? ALso, many of the younger celebs, who are Stacy’s age wore short cocktail dresses to the event. I think she is trying to age herself with these last two outfits. I liked the dress, but Helen Mirren, who attended the event, could have worn that dress.

i think that was a nice thing to say. maybe he does think that about her despite the general consensus. if you are an unattached movie star needing someone on your arm for yet another round of award shows/ffs, you might pick someone like this. i think he likes the attention off him somewhat and this girl certainly fills the bill. as far as her taste in dresses, that is not good, but she does look better here. if we critique them we must compliment when it is appropriate. its only fair. so: better hair, better makeup, not smiling so fixedly :)

I agree. Clooney has no range and most of his movies are so boring.

I think the only reason he is doing well this awards season is because Hollywood loves him and his old school Hollywood style ‘charm’.
Personally I have never cared for him and I don’t rate him as a good actor at all. I think he is extremely over rated in more ways than one.

Call me stupid (no – wait – please don’t) but he seems to stay with the women he finds for several years. Maybe they aren’t just for show? As to a former wrestler ‘classing up’ an event. Really? And the dress was an awful choice because the beading metaphorically decapitates her shorter date, highlighting their height difference. The bright neckline also makes his metaphorically decapitated head seem washed out.

He’s not campaigning, right? Media interviews with him outside the awards season are about as rare as that huge vein not bulging out on her forehead. I can’t believe he expects any halfway intelligent/perceptive person to believe he’s not campaigning. But then he thinks a female wrestler who used to floss her behind with ring rope is classy – that explains a lot.

IMO, the dress actually works on her. If it was me, I would like it only if the top/silver, was a lighter/thinner fabric. It would add femininity, but, she is a wrestler after all. Which brings me to this somewhat ‘bitchy’ observation…I think I finally have it figured out! With those recent slips George had, something about choking, and embarrassed laughing?.. He has a girl that can ‘pin him down’ in a naughty way, and then ‘pick him up’, if things go a little too far. Fair enough, sounds like a fun deal, for now. Wonder if it will be forever? Depends on their personalities beyond ‘wrestling’. At least this theory might explain why he looks happy, and in pain, at the same time.

The dress, hair, and makeup are too matronly for someone her age. She is trying hard to look closer to his age and she ends up looking very stepford/politician’s wife. He is looking so old it’s getting scary.

Stacy was first a friend of George’s before she got the rent-a-GF job, so they look more relaxed together than previous escorts, but she is still just contract labor. She does play her part well though, even if they look so wrong together and no one is buying their hookup.

George’s Oscar campaign is way over the top. I’m hoping neither he nor Brad wins because I don’t think either of them are great at acting and George will forever use either of them winning as part of his limited lame recycled jabs in future interviews.
