Jersey Shore’s Ronnie: people think I’m on steroids b/c they eat too much fast food

Bullying has become a real hot-button topic of late, and for good reason. However, it’s become increasingly commonplace for celebrities (especially minor ones like reality stars) to try and win over the public’s affection by pointing out that they were teased as children. While I certainly don’t mean to minimize the problem of bullying, it’s clear that the topic reaches a point of ridiculousness when a bully attempts to justify their own behavior by pointing out that they too were bullied in younger years. Such is the case with Ronnie Ortiz-Magro from the “Jersey Shore” cast.

To put it bluntly, Ronnie is a vibrating orange ball of rage. He’s been in more fights than all of the other cast members combined. In a new interview with In Touch, Ronnie denies many things including being a bully and taking steroids. In fact, he says that his proclivity for physical altercations only has to do with growing up in the Bronx and being teased as a youth. He’s only defending himself, you see.

From what I recall about “Shore” fights (and at this point, I’ve caught every episode), Ronnie’s never really been physically threatened by anyone. His Season One fight (that got him arrested) started because a guy was calling him names; his Season Three brawls with Sammi started with verbal squabbling; and Ronnie’s Season Four fight with The Situation started because of more “fighting words.” Maybe Ron’s really not on steroids but cocaine instead. After all, there was that blind item from awhile back about a “Shore” cast member going wild on coke, but that could easily be pinned on The Situation for his money woes. Whatever the cause, Ronnie possesses definite rage issues because nobody in their right mind would flip over his girlfriend’s bed (while she’s on top of it) unless they’ve got a serious problem. Here’s Ronnie attempting to explain away his behavior:

He Doesn’t Do Roids: “People say I’m on steroids because they can’t look like this eating fast food three days a week.”

On Growing Up Tiny: “When you get to high school, you realize how small you really are. Everyone was always bigger than me, and being a lot smaller, I got picked on a lot by guys in the grades above me. My parents always taught me to walk away from a fight, but from a guy’s point of view, how many times can you walk away? In other places you get respect, but in the Bronx, you have to earn it.”

On Hitting the Gym: ” I grew up watching guys like Arnold Schwarzenegger, The Rock, and Stone Cold Steve Austin and knew I wasn’t going to look like that sitting on the couch — I had to motivate and make it happen. It was because of the bullying — and I also started to get into girls, too!”

On Being Called a Bully: “I get angry at that because every fight that I’ve been in on the show, I’ve been provoked or I’m defending myself. It’s the Bronx instinct: If you feel threatened, you defend yourself.”

On Learning: “Watching the show, I get to look back on my mistakes and say, ‘I’m not going to do that again.’ I grew up a lot during the Italy season. I stayed away from drama and just had a good time.”

He & Sammi are Over “It was literally the whole world against our relationship,” says Ronnie of his most recent breakup with Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola. “But I’d never talk bad about Sam; we’ve been through a lot together.” So what’s single Ronnie looking for now? “A girl who wants me in her life, but doesn’t need me in her life.”

[From In Touch, print edition, January 23, 2012]

It’s funny how Ronnie declares that he only fights when defending himself or when provoked. The guy has a permanently-lit fuse and has no idea about the legal definition of “provocation.” In fact and I really hate to say this, but Ronnie sounds a lot like a future abusive husband or boyfriend who justifies hitting a woman because she “pushed him to it.” I hope that’s never really the case, but it’s fairly obvious that Ronnie needs some help managing his temper. Trying to explain it away as being tiny in high school just doesn’t cut it.

Oh, and that bit about how Ronnie and Sammi are done? Seriously, this time it’s for real. Again. Even though they’ve broken up at least twenty five times over the course of the show and also gave Us Weekly an exclusive break-up statement to promote the season four finale? So laughable.

Im not an avid watcher of the show, so I cant be 100% sure, but I do not think he has ever hit Sammi or acted like he would hit her. Its seems completely unfair to predict he will beat his future wife or gf.

    • Asli says:

He pushed her in season 1, she almost fell over.

      • HadleyB says:

With her mouth, crying and BS drama getting in his face all the time? I would of pushed her too.

I think Jwoww beat her ass.

    • MJ says:

And he smashed all of her belongings (including eyeglasses) and tossed a bed at her in season 2 or 3. Dude seems like a rage timebomb.

“I’m DONE. No. I’m DONE. DONE!”

    • Amanda G says:

He has pushed her, thrown things at her, grabbed her arm, gotten in her face to the point where she has to push him away, destroyed her personal belongings, flipped a bed over while she’s on it… Nope, nothing abusive about that at all! I don’t think the kid is quite dumb enough to hit her while the cameras are rolling, but it would not surprise me if it has happened off-camera or WILL happen.

    • Shannon says:

His problem is that he can’t just stop when things are getting too heated and extricate himself from the situation, and neither can Sammi. The combination is explosive and toxic. I can totally see Ronnie getting swept up in his rage and hitting a girl because of this, only to regret it as soon as his adrenaline stops coursing through his veins. He definitely has issues he needs to address in the anger department. At his size, he could seriously hurt a woman if he doesn’t get himself under control.

    • the original bellaluna says:

Yeah, he’s a ticking bomb. The pin on the grenade that is Ronnie has been pulled. Now it’s simply a question of when and who.

You can’t have that kind of raging anger and sense that it’s okay to treat another human being that way (as those above have cited) and not be headed for a domestic violence incident.

    • OH_GREAT_ITS_HER says:

Well, I did watch the show and he is a psycho. His relationship was fundamentally an abusive one but it shows you how sick our society is because the mainstream press rarely expressed concern over this fact. Ronnie looks the type to have hatred towards any woman who does not allow him to have his way-basically a woman that talks back. The warning signs are there for future partners.

    • billyb says:

      Hahaha
Ronnie is clearing juicing. Probably winstrol. Dbol and some type of test.
Not that i care. I have done many cycles but dont insult our intelligence by saying its from fast food. Great genetics or whatever. And try training those #2 pencils u call legs.

    • Izzy4ya says:

Not that we saw on camera, but If I had to bet…

  2. DomCoug says:

sooooo nothing to say about this nothing

  3. RocketMerry says:

Right. Can’t be because you look like you’re on steroids. Absolutely not. We’re all jealouse, fast-food-eating, fat asses.

  4. Hautie says:

Geez. He has the typical body of a roid head. Who is he trying to bullsh*t with this story? hahaha!

    Oh please.

It is a matter of time before he writes a tell all. About his steroid use.

This is of course is after he spends a few years in prison. That he was sent to for killing some one in a bar fight.

    • DreamyK says:

Right? Too bad steroids shrink the meat and potatoes. Nothing worse than a guy with a banging bod and you need tweezers to find that junk. Hah!

  5. gillie says:

Um, he’s got that soft, doughy musculature that is the hallmark of steroids being used by a person without the capacity to limit his diet. He doesn’t look solid, like a guy who lifts and eats. He looks like someone pumped him full of water.

    • JenJen says:

I was gonna say… he looks kind of lumpy to me, not so much cut and ripped. I don’t know much about the telltale signs of steroid usage, but he doesn’t look like a typical guy who watches his diet and hits the gym every day.
Sidenote: I think he’s utterly revolting and would die – DIE! – before I let him get within touching distance of me. GAG.

    • Kelly says:

I totally agree. He looks pudgy to me, frankly; most guys who lift weights are really ripped, and he just doesn’t have a whole lot of muscle definition.

He reminds me of those guys – mostly middle-aged – who wear the t-shirts with the sleeves ripped off and walk with their arms hanging gorilla-style because they think it makes their arms look big. Well, their arms ARE big, but it’s fat, not muscle.

      • kas says:

Not to mention the charming episode where he mysteriously started bleeding out his ass.

Plus the back acne, the high pitched voice……

    • Sab says:

      @gillie
Exactly! Steroids only bulk you up and make you bigger, but if you don’t watch what you eat (and DRINK) you’ll just look puffy. He looks like he eats too much fast food himself. By saying “eat fast food three times a week” he just told us HIS diet. Also he “acts” like he’s on steroids, coke would make him more defined actually. I’ve known a lot of bodybuilders, and they are hardcore.

  6. BamaGuy1024 says:

This is LUDICROUS… Snookie and JenWOW and the other skanks on the show go on and on about loving their JUICE HEAD Guidos. Google it. Urban Dictionary #1 definition is: juice head – someone who does steroids and is an asshole. Ronnie is a dimwit and a liar. Of course he is injecting his ass twice a week with testosterone. You absolutely cannot get big muscle like that without doing juice and his behavior, the aggressiveness and fighting are surely ROID RAGE

  7. brin says:

If it fights like a roid and it rages like a roid….it’s a roid.

  8. Naye in VA says:

i think he has the look of the guys who do all the creatine but dont really hit the gym like they should. roid users tend to look a lot more veiny, and while ronnie is a bit of a hot head i dont think hes quite a bully 9my definition of bullies being people that pick or start fights or look for reasons to fight people not getting mad and finishing them) or an abuser. hes a typical macho. And i believe the Season 1 fight was because the guy punched snookie in the face. And when Sammy gets to crying and yelling he usually tries to leave before he gets angry. But any mattress flipping chair throwing guy is too much for me.

    • Naye in VA says:

note: i havent seen every single episode, but if he has pushed Sammy around, then yes that is typically the start of harder abuse. it only escalates. i hope that isnt the case

  9. Smarty says:

    @DarkEmpress
Actually, he’s shoved Sammy around a lot, which (to me) indicates that he is capable of something more. Also, there was a blind item about her going back to him over and over even though he kept beating her.
Yeah, I watch the show. Lol

  10. I.want.shoes says:

    Corn-fed moron.

  11. Skins says:

Didn’t he attack and hit the guy from behind in his one “fight”?

    • Asli says:

Yes, and then he jumped around and yelled that he knocked him out with just one hit…Asshole.

  12. GiGi says:

No. We think you’re on steroids because of your roid rages… That and the fact that he’s the most out of shape in shape person I’ve ever seen.

  13. Gradstudenteatinghotpockets says:

Hold on, haven’t all three of the people he “looked up to” (e.g., Arnold) people that used steroids and even had health problems because they used so much? I know Arnold majorly damaged his heart when he was doing his Mr. Universe stuff because of all the crap he was doing to bulk up.

Also, do we count HGH as a steroid? Because he probably does that. See “My New Haircut” on youtube.

  14. dorothy says:

No, we just think your stupid and don’t know any better.

  15. Amy says:

Disagree that he would ever hit a girl! He has a good heart and he is sweet. Also feel like people push him to fight to be on the show. He probably does do steroids though. I could see Jenny or Snooki being the coke head though. They have both lost tons of weight and they still drink soooo much!!

    • lettylynton says:

I agree. Sam seems like a pain in the ass and he is the ‘husband material’ kind of guy that would put up with that because he loved her. Breaking all her stuff was the only time I ever saw him be somewhat excessive in his anger.

  16. Jules says:

The guy has classic “roid rage”. And he HAS been a crappy, abusive boyfriend to Sammi, mentally and somewhat physically. I would love to see someone bigger kick his ass. This guy need anger management and therapy. Maybe some fast food.

  17. HadleyB says:

I am disappointed that a half nude of Pauly D wasn’t included.. even with his overly done tats he has a hot body, and great booty.

  18. QQ says:

Jesus he is SO GROSS, they all are, Paulie with that hair and them sun damage eyes, him with everything, vinnie with those creepy, done up eyebrows and the situation being walking talking vomit, all of them and vile and unnatractive

  19. Lio says:

Ugh, they are all gross. Especially him, what a pig.

  20. Jover says:

I took the garbage out this morning and saw more appealing things in the bottom of the can than this gross tacky slimy cretin. The good news is i have read the ratings are down so even sludge has its limits of appeal.

  21. Fitness101 says:

I find it funny everyone points fingers at the people they watch the most on television. All of you sit behind your computers judging other people when In reality all of you should look in the mirror. How could you say “future abusive husband” doesn’t make sense like lookin at an mid eastern person and saying his a terrorist, I’m a fellow jersey so called GUIDO. Do they give us bad names yes mostly. But I sit back I see all you pass judgement callin them coke heads, losers, etc. but yet who is the loser that even cares enough to say anything a out him or anyone else on that show or on tv in general. It’s always the weak and the enviest that pass judge on other people. Stop being so insecure about yourself and worry a out your own lives. U fans are the worse fans bc ur the type to talk about a show but than when ur home ur curled up with the snuggle watching Marathons.. Have a blessed day and hopefully one day GOD WON’T JUDGE YOU THE WAY YOU JUDGE PEOPLE

    • Shannon says:

Guess you didn’t read the title of this site when you had the link sent to you, huh? “Enviest” haha. If shoving your girlfriend around and breaking her property are considered normal “GUIDO” behavior, then hell yes I will judge you, as will anyone else with a conscience. If you’re going to defend abusers and abuse committed on television, then I have no problem calling YOU a loser.

  22. orion70 says:

Doesn’t he do commercials for some kind of supplement?

  23. HotPockets says:

Leave Ron ALONE, he suffers from SMS, aka small man syndrome. A lot of men who have SMS are angry and defensive because of their lack of height, so they get really buff and angry..you can compare it to cats when they puff up to intimidate another cat by appearing bigger than they are, I feel for the little men.

  24. Amanda G says:

I admit that JS was my guilty pleasure up until the middle of the Italy season. After Ron picked Mike up and threw him against the edge of a bed, I was done. And not Ron and Sammi’s definition of “done” either. Both those guys were lucky that Mike wasn’t paralyzed after that move. I don’t care if the fight was for the cameras or actually real. There’s no need for that kind of violence. I just can’t support it!

  25. Shannon says:

  26. the original bellaluna says:

No, dumbass, people think you’re on roids because you look and behave like you’re on roids.

  27. MissVJJ says:

I like the show. And like every other reality show, things are exaggerated to make the typical sheep think that that’s how these reality “celebs” operate in their daily lives. Does he do steroids? Who knows. But you cant say he does just because you’ve stared at pics of him. Or call him a future wife beater. Just enjoy the show and dont take it so seriously 🙂

  28. Ruffian9 says:

Ok, I don’t watch the show and so don’t know who this dickweed is, but…Eww.

He’s repulsive looking, dresses like a moron, and has Moe Howard’s haircut.

  29. darkladi says:

    is “douche” a fighting word?

  30. whatevs says:

ewww. that body does not look good. too much muscle doesn’t look good on short dudes. is he short? anyway he looks that way in these pics. and he has that new-body building fatness going on. when people begin body building for the first time, and i have witnessed this many times irl, the trainers tell them to gain weight and make them get lots of high cal shakes and such. so in a way he is high body fat, just not obese. and what he said was just ignorant… so everybody who thinks he’s getting steroids is just a jealous fatty who eats mcdonald’s 24/7? rofl thank god i never watched this show. idiocy galore

  31. original kate says:

everyone on that show looks like they fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.

  32. judyjudy says:

He should get bullied for that punkin-pie haircut.

  33. Leek says:

I guess that means I think he’s ugly because I wear too much makeup?

  34. Juju Silva says:

I don’t care what other people say, but I’m VERY sure Jersey Shore cast do steroids. Not all of them. I even know what they take.

If you don’t mind Bedhead… I will post a link to my blog post where it explains which of them use steroids, and what steroids they use. I’m a personal trainer from brazil. I should know. hehe

You can also type “Jersey Shore Steroids” on Google and my posting will be the first. Here is the link:

    • Jeff says:

Even if he is on steroids who really cares? Maybe he wanted to get bigger than he naturally can. Steroids dont shrink your dick either, thats like saying the moon is made of cheese, might shrink your balls a little when on cycle though
