As I mentioned in yesterday’s Open Post, last night was all about George Clooney. I don’t get why he’s so desperate for validation this year, of all years. Why is he pushing himself in our faces so hard? Why was he, like, one of the first people on the red carpet? He arrived before Lea Michele, right? WTF is happening? And most importantly, WHY DID HE LET HER SPEAK?!?!?
So Clooney and Stacy Keibler were one of the first people to arrive on the Globes red carpet, and they did a longer interview with Ryan Seacrest. George let Stacy speak! And dear God, this girl has nothing to say. She didn’t even pick out her dress – George chose it. Probably because he doesn’t want another tit tape disaster, right? My favorite part – the part that made me laugh hysterically – was when Stacy fronted like she and George have ALWAYS done the Globes red carpet together. She said something about how glad they were to be there because “this is always such a fun night!” Like she’s been so many times. Like she and Dame Helen Mirren are always up for awards together.
Anyway, Stacy’s dress was Valentino – I actually like it, and it flatters her figure and it’s a nice color. I don’t even mind the bow at the back. My only problem was with the scraggily hair. What is her hair problem? She does “rat’s nest” hairstyles too often.
So… Clooney won Best Actor over Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender, but he managed to give both men a shout-out in his acceptance speech. I did like what he said about the Fassdong and how… ENDOWED my Fassy is. It was nice of George to notice, and to comment about the Fassdong publicly. Bless his heart.

Stacy looks amazing – I think my favorite look so far. Its classic, sexy and sleek. Her body is to die for.
I hate to admit it but I think it’s true. She looked fabulous- with the exemption of the hair- and I think she was one of the best dressed of the evening.
Yep, credit where credit is due: she’s been knocking it out of the park in the last few appearances. GASP I even caught myself thinking once or twice “this one is managing nicely, above expectations, nice Georgie!”. Or maybe that was the plan all along: have her dressed in the worse possible outfit at TIFF, and go on a gradual ascending slope from then on to Oscar night 😉 In any case, her face looks lovely these days.

Six months ago, I didn’t know who Stacy Keibler was. Now that she’s Clooney’s current arm candy she is included in groups of pictures (showing hairstyles, dresses, etc.) with the likes of Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron, etc.??? WTF!!! If I were these legitimate A-list stars I would be insulted/offended beyond belief. This one has gotten more press lately than the females who have actually been nominated for awards. By the way, Ryan Seacrest is the MAN – loved the way he totally ignored her comment about “this is the most fun night of the year” when he was interviewing Clooney last night. Has she even been to the GGs before?
I agree. They always throw these “randoms” in there each year. You know, the ones who either show up everywhere or are only there because of who they date/marry/work with.
I can’t understand why all of a sudden Stacy is put on the best dressed list with very accomplished actresses. I saw one sight where they compared Michele Williams dress to what Stacy wore at the Critics Choice awards. Really. She must have some of these magazines and gossip sites on speed dial. No other significant other or wife or girlfriend that walks in with their male celeb gets so much coverage. Some of them you never even see on the red carpet they slip in without being noticed. But not Stacy, I thought for a minute she was getting a nomination and George was escorting her. Finally, I did like the dress and makeup, but what is with the hair.
Yep ITA with you. That goes for the Karasshians as well. Now the level of famewhoring is insane. Women becoming uber famous for dating someone not even having their own talent.
I think she looks great, George has really cleaned her up well. Even the messy hair doesn’t bother me, it looks natural and un-fussy. She looks best when she isn’t too “polished”. And after seeing The Descendants yesterday, George totally deserved the GG, he was amazing and believable in a tough role about a tough subject.

So… I kind of think that if GC were like 5 or 10 years older, this relationship would kind of work. She’s younger, but she’s not THAT young. She’s pretty, but not THAT pretty. She’s fun, but she’s not a crack whore (that we can tell).

I liked the photo’s from the pressroom. They were goofing around and she had to stand a step lower and he was leaning on her, like he was higher in rank than her and she was just a piece of furniture… which might as well be.
In truth they were making fun of the height difference, but I prefer my own interpretation
I never understand the disdain that George gets for how he is with his women…
They get approximately 24 months of vacations…red carpet routines…kicking it with interesting people…bills paid…minor surgical procedures…lots of PR…and the opportunity to be in the company of a man who is intelligent and charming…and judging by his s-x scenes in movies…one that can throw down between the sheets…(I’m sorry, to me, that type of concentration goes beyond acting…to actual)
I buy that he’s probably cold…emotionally unavailable and probably controlling as heck…but heck…who isn’t at times?
I’m probably biased because the man has either written, directed or starred in some of my FAVORITE movies of the past ten years…

It’s funny, in the red carpet interviews and in recent pictures he just seemed so blah and uncomfortable… but as soon as he’s up on that stage (without that girl-for-hire on his arm) and has a chance to be himself, all that charm and good looks come back. I loved his speech and remembered why I like him so much.
And I do love his bromance with Brad.
I agree that he seems more comfortable without her but last night his fawning over Brad (and then Fassdong) was borderline embarrassing, I think the bromances are getting to be too much.
And then I was thinking how embarrassing it must be to have Stacey on his arm while Brad has Angie. I wonder why George doesn’t find someone more of Angie’s caliber, someone stronger and more A-list? Although who that night be, I don’t know. Sandra Bullock?
Because someone strong would expect something from him, I imagine, that he knows he’s not willing to give. I don’t know if it’s real love, commitment, or whatever. GC has gone from dating stronger women in the past, to what he does these days. He hasn’t always been this way, he used to have long term girlfriends, no one was ever close to him in fame but they were far more interesting. Maybe he just doesn’t want to waste their time, and has found a way to feel like he’s not a total user. I feel this all started with that waitress in Vegas, can’t remember her name. Ever since that relationship he’s been this way, “Pretty Woman-ing” these women and then sending them on their way. It’s just creepy now, I just don’t understand why he brings them to events and shows them off, it’s such a joke and I feel like it’s borderline mean. Why embarrass them when everyone knows his M.O.? Just my 2 cents GC used to be my dreamy guy among actors, I don’t really like him much anymore. Although I do think he’s still a great actor.

That’s because you’re comparing her to actors, and directors who are there being rewarded for their craft. It’s not their job to look perfect, they’re there for their work, she’s there to look good and she does, but she has no talent. It’s comparing apples to oranges.
She looks good put she is so vapid. When Ryan asked what they were planning to do after the ceremony she immediately giggled and responded, “Party!” I think Stacy is George’s perfect girlfriend, though. She just wants to get on camera and to rub elbows with celebrities. That will be enough for her. She will probably hang on and be pushing toothless George in a wheelchair in twenty years.
Watching her last night, she definitely looks besotted with him. Maybe she’ll be the lucky one, and she’ll get to stay with him because he has a stroke, & needs a plucky gal to feed him & tend to his needs, and give him moral support!

No, George actually made a big deal about not campaigning for Up in the Air and Men Who stare at Goats and The American he just did the bare minimum required by his contract and even started going in the back door at some of the events to avoid photographers. Guess he figured that tack didn’t work so he is back on the kissing babies trail, even though he has said previously it makes him feel dirty.

I like George, but I kind of agree with the people of Deadline that the GG are a popularity contest. Pitt and Fassbender are more or less sweeping all of the other awards. George is great but he just didn’t seem to approach the level of the other actors that he was competing against. He played a rich, slightly pathetic white guy which is something he always seems to do.
She’s so bland looking with no uniqueness. Just another Botoxed Zombie with the same vapid face. Yeah, the odd hair is awful. And Clooney looks ridiculous with her – they just appear so mismatched to me.

Oh, I think at critics’s choice he gave an interview to someone (from MTV?!) that mentioned about when he was young whatever and she took the mic and asked George how are you? then she asked what are you wearing and george held himself to not make a major eye roll to her. Did anyone see it?

I went to the IMDb photo page about the GGs because I was looking for a specific picture of Uggie with his cute little bow tie. They had listed all red carpet photos by person, with Cray Cray leading the pack, 10 pics, whereas actual GG nominees, GG winners or Oscar winners sometimes only have one or two. Even Angie has only 9.

Historically, except for premieres and awards shows, he tends to keep out of the spotlight. despite all their efforts there is distance between them. george looks more gene and yet very comfortable. he did not even kiss. just a kiss on the cheek. and when she speaks she was too excited “too cool we’re going to party” I think it’s a bit stupid and pitcher. a real turkey. george is more at ease with these friends.I think she is in love with him but not really … the fall will be hard …

I’ve come to the conclusion that Keibler lies about her date of birth and age. I have never in my life seen a 32 year old with crow’s feet, and Keibler has very definite crow’s feet. She gets botox on her forehead as evidenced by her giant forehead vein, but that does not help the crow’s feet. My guess is she’s at least mid-forties or older.
To the math challenged, George is almost 18 1/2 years older than Stacy, and Brad is 12 1/2 years older than Angelina. Not exactly close to the same age difference.

Mainly cause Clooney looks significantly older than a lot of his same aged peers, Pitt, Depp, Cruise, and Colin Firth. They are all within couple of years of each other. After watching some videos and pictures of the GG red carpet I think a reminder is necessary, so to make it clear George Clooney is the one who was nominated and won the GG not Stacy. I thought it was important to mention it as it’s pretty easy to get confused by the way Stacy behaved, as if she was the Star of the show. Don’t worry people she didn’t become an A list star overnight, she is only the girlfriend!

Exactly how often has Stacy been to the GG(sarcasm)? I figured out last night what annoys me about her – she has started acting like she’s an A list star, and that she and George have been an item for years, instead of her really being the rented seasonal arm candy for an A list star. She’s like a coat-check girl that works all the events, so she can claim she’s been to all the events and met all the big stars without telling people why she was there. She did look nice, but they still look very awkward together.
Angie’s expressions always look like she can’t stand George. Tight forced smile, like someone is holding one of her kids for ransom unless she smiles at George’s humor and his gushing about Brad.
Judging by the volume of clapping going on during the announcing of the nominees for best actor, Brad or Fassbender will be getting most of their peer’s Oscar votes over George.

I don’t think she did this tweet. Her others for last night said they were from her Blackberry. This one says it’s from the web. If you look at the time, it looks like right after George won, she tweeted the pic of her and Grant Hezlov. Then about 9 minutes later someone (I’m thinking it was her PR people) tweeted “Yay babe…” from the web. I heard that someone responded to the tweet with her and Grant saying it seemed condescending because why wasn’t she saying something about George’s win, and this was immediately taken off her twitter, and the other post went up.
Also, the “Yay babe…” post was approx. five minutes after the awards ended. I would think things would be a little chaotic for her to be tweeting at that time.
On a night where the women wore the ugliest dresses I have ever seen, I have to say, Stacy was one of the best dressed. Thought she looked great, don’t care about the hair, at least it covered her too large forhead & if she talks too much, who cares? At least she’s friendly & most actors & actresses say dumb things. Loved her jewelry & accessories also. Well done Stacy!
On a side note, but related, wonder if the poster who seems to hate GC & all of his gfs is wondering if Stacy’s bow in the back was there to send her a message…you know, its shaped like the red mark on a black widow!!!
Just because her dress looks nice and her make-up is done correctly, doesn’t mean we have to like or listen to the dumb things that she says. Unless you personally know her or have met her, how do you know she is nice and friendly, because she smiles a lot on the red carpet, so do all the celebs walking the red carpet.

On a sidenote, brown eyes and (fake) blond hair don’t look good (in my opinion). I saw a lot of bad fake haircolours on the red carpet last night (namely Claire Danes and Laura Dern). It’s beyond me how any of these celebrities can have a bad haircolour, hairdo, outfit, or makeup job…they have the money to spend on highly skilled people to make them look good…and all they have to do is look at themselves on the screen (a more unbiased view than looking at oneself in the mirror). I just don’t get it.

She looks great in that dress and it really is nice to see someone on the red carpet who looks healthy and who looks like they eat more than one leaf of lettuce as their main weekly meal. I like the loose hair around her face, it suits her much better than the tight pulled back styles. The style itself however, could have been much better. She’ll get there eventually, maybe soften her basic haircut a bit around her face to make the updo styles easier to do.
At any rate, I like this one. She seems nice, patient, enthusiastic if slightly clueless (although that may well be an act), and genuinely delighted to be there.
I honestly think that George chooses these women because in a way it makes him more accessible. He’s not dating an astrophysicist, an A list actress, an heiress or a member of MENSA, but most of his female fans aren’t that either.

I think Stacy K is the sweetest person. She goes well with George. I am shy and dont really like to speak too much and my fiance gets right in there and I love it. George and Stacey make a great pair. I wanted to see a picture of Stacey next to Angelina Jolie to see how tall stacey is. Stacey is definitely classier and why does Angelina put her nose in the air when she posing for pictures. Looks funny. Don’t like Angelina or Brad. I would like to see more of George and Stacey. They are both lucky to have found each other. I don’t like homewrecker Angelina she looks like a homeless person who dresses up once in a while, otherwise she wears the same thing, Black anything.
