Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were in attendance at last night’s Producers Guild Awards, held in Beverly Hills. Jolie wore this black wool crepe and lace Michael Kors pre-Fall 2012 collection gown which… I have mixed feelings about. The positives: it fits her, it’s not a sack, and there’s sexiness to it. The negatives: the lace looks kind of cheap to me, the cut and the design of the bodice is odd, and the overall effect is not all that gorgeous. That being said, I love her hair and makeup here. I really like it when Angelina does bigger, teased up hair. It suits her.
As for Brad, he was without his cane! And if it just me, or is Brad looking a little bit “refreshed”? He actually made the effort to groom his scraggily facial hair, and he looks so shiny, maybe it’s throwing me off and making me think he looks Botoxed when he’s just clean, for once.
Anyhoodle, Angelina was at the PGAs because she was receiving The Stanley Kramer Award for In the Land of Blood and Honey. We discussed the award previously – ITLOBAH received the award for taking on complicated social issues. Congrats to Angelina!

Maybe it was better looking in person or while she was moving, maybe. What gets me about the lace is that it does look cheap. The way it is so fitted at her arms reminds me of those cheesy lace leggings from the 90’s.
I really like the dress. Very nice but what is with their personas lately? Their eyes are dead, no smiles, stiff as a board.
Anymore it seems that if a celebrity couple looks happy in public, the divorce is not far off and if they look board with each other, things are fine.

Every time I see her she looks more like her brother, James Haven . I think it’s the bulging eye thing they have going on.

I’m of Yugoslav descent (Croatia) … my grandmother was born there … and it’s a bitter, bitter situation over there. They say there are “two sides to every story” but in this case, there are MANY sides, with no cut-and-dried solution or even description. Not an AJ fan per se, but giving her credit for tackling such an important subject.

Black lace cut outs are never a good look. No matter how expensive the dress might be, they always look cheap/budget.

Very Duchess of Cambridge. Even the hair is similar, so I’m very surprised you like it.
It’s not bad really, just too much lace for me, and if those cutouts are meant to give the illusion of a waist, they’ve failed miserably. She has one of the worst figures in Hollywood in my opinion, but that face is lovely.
Brad looks like hell. His eyelids seem to be drooping over his eyes like a Shar Pei. And his hair looks dirty.

The Stanley Kramer Award, which shines a spotlight on a project that raises social issues, was given to the film In the Land of Blood and Honey, its director/producer Angelina Jolie and producer Graham King. In her acceptance, Jolie said of the film about the Bosnian War, “The cast is from all sides of the conflict, and they crossed the religious and cultural divide to come together to make this film. It took great bravery. This belongs to them. This is their story, their film.”
In their appearance on stage, PGA co-presidents Mark Gordon and Hawk Koch pointed out that the guild has just reached a new milestone: It’s 5,000 member. PGA member number 4,999, Hawk revealed, is producer-director J.J. Abrams. I know I loved Moneyball. My hubby and I watched it then took it up to our in-laws, everybody that saw it loved it. A truly entertaining, moving film. Brad was Billy Bean and I can’t believe how great of a singer his daughter in the film is. The song is so cute. She’s very talented. I saw these pics(Brad and Ang) last night and I had the full on quiver for them both, such beautiful people, so sexy.. Holy cow, Lucy! Brad neither looks, sounds, or acts like the real Billy Beane, he did his own interpretation of him. I’ve heard several people say they thought they were watching Rusty (from Ocean’s movies) run a baseball team. Now I greatly enjoyed Moneyball, as did my family, but I didn’t think anything about it screamed Oscar gold. btw, the man that P.S. Hoffman played is quite angry about the way he was portrayed, says it wasn’t realistic at all.
Also, cannot agree with you about the Descendants. I found it very moving, really stayed with me for days after seeing it, and completely forgot that “Matt” was Clooney; in fact, I thought this was Clooneys best performance to date, and that’s what I’m hearing in my area.
Brad looks mostly the same so I don’t understand the claims he had botox. It looks like he had a minor haircut and shave. This is the 3rd or 4th awards show he’s attended. If he cared so much about his looks he would have done this weeks ago. Moneyball was nominated so he had a reason to be there.

I agree! She is just so stunning and elegant – elements of what the real Hollywood stars used to have. Now, Crackie is getting offered Elizabeth Taylor roles. That iconic era is dead. And it’s a slam to those actors and actresses who may have had their struggles . . . but steadily held work and turned in stellar performances to have these washed-up, drug addicted, crack pack brats thinking they are the latest royals. But – can we actually talk about the movie. I now understand why she would not allow reviews until right before the movie came out. Be honest this movie is like at 50% percent on rotten tomatoes. Lower amongst the top critics. It has made next to nothing at the box office. It is a huge bomb. The only reason that she received a golden globes nom and this award is because she worked it so that no one knew how bad this movie was beofre they gave the award nom. That and she called peope personally begging for nom’s. This movie has not done anything for anyone except for Angie – to get her more attention. How she can walk around pretending that it is all good is amazing to me – I would be hanging my head in shame.
Don’t bother, Jolie is all love and light to some. Even failure is victory for them. Fact is, they are not going strong career wise which means people love the gossip and the cute family ops but are not invested in cementing them as legendary actors. At least Pitt makes film choices that reflect on his talent.
Also I think there’s more to that lawsuit than we’ll ever know. I read that court document and sorry but the similarities are a bit too much to be ignored. Braddock may be attention seeking but if he’s in his right, then Jolie doesn’t deserve credit for bringing such a topic up for discussion since it’s not her story to begin with. He’s losing money fast and he still continues, you don’t do that without a personal reason. Oh well, time will tell?

Both Streep and Bullock can do more than one genre plus comparing their careers to Jolie’s is ridiculous. You want to check Streep’s resumé? She has been doing quality films since she hit the scene and doesn’t go for easy money. Streep can do anything and she doesn’t need to sell her soul either to get recognition. When she was Jolie’s age (she started in her 30s) she made films that go in the history books and prove her talent, now go check Jolie’s filmography. Streep and Bullock have already proved their worth in the business. I think Pitt too but Jolie isn’t all that great as people make it out.
The film isn’t a success, it’s a major flop the numbers (is not going anywhere near to make profit!) and critics prove it. She barely can get out of the 50% range. And the one thing they consistently give her credit for is the fact that she had the balls to touch such a subject but that doesn’t mean she handled it well. I find it mindboggling that the worshippers were saying this film is fantastic, going to be a hit, Jolie on top and what not for WEEKS before the actual release and now that is less than great are saying absolutely nothing about it. Oh yeah, echoing that she won an award but really, how many people saw the film?! The thing that keeps Jolie’s head above water is the industry kissing her ass for visibility and rating and the fans buying whatever personal sh* she sells but for how long?
@Sakyiwaa: The award Jolie won did NOT recognize her abilities/talent as a director, it merely acknowledged that the subject of her film was of a sensitive and significant nature. Tsk.

I really appreciated the movie and it’s subject matter. It’s something that lots of people who aren’t cognizant of, even if they were around during that tragic time. It’s just not doing well critically or at the box office, which was never really going to happen anyway, given the subject matter and the time it was released. I am of the belief that this does not make Angie’s career that bad, but I am also bias. However I can see that this was supposed to be a pivotal moment for her career and while it’s just her first role and not indicative of her star waning, it’s not doing anything for her either. Again, I don’t think this is her fault because IMO the film was excellent but different strokes for different folks. It did get more than ten percent higher in reviews than critics on RT. That says something.
That being said, I’m going to defend NM’s opinion a bit on all accounts because she does have some points in terms of Angie’s career. I am one of the people who love Angie’s personal stories and triumphs more than I do her as an actor. I like her as an actor but will readily admit that she is kind of one note. She plays, crazy, vixen, assassin, crazy vixen assassin, or badass rich vixen. With the exception for the Changeling, The Good Shepherd, Gia (still crazy vixenish), that movie about one of the presidents, and A Mighty Heart, that is her normal pattern of film choices. I am not not knocking her for that because like many in Hollywood, you find your niche and you do your thing. I do think she is capable of more. I think if she chose to do something completely different she could do it, and it would change my opinion of her as an actress. But let’s be really, Sandra and Meryl, hell even Halle Berry have proven themselves in terms of range. They have done, comedy, serious, political, thought provoking, romantic films and have done very well in all genres more than not.
Meryl is incomparable. There is no one in terms of her career stats who is on her level right now. Sandra, Viola, Tilda and Cate Blanchett are well on their way if they keep it up. Angie is not on any of their levels IMO in terms of her acting (which is in part due to her samey films) or critical success.
I am a ride or die Brangie fan, but I’m not deluded and I’m not going to attack people for pointing out the truth no matter how much I love them. Now when it comes to their personal shit that we know about, I’ll shut it down, LOL.

I am still puzzled by those who don’t realize that Brad is an actor and as such may very well need to keep his hair longish and UNSTYLED in case he is needed for reshoots or even photo shoots for one of his upcoming movies – both in which he wore long hair.
There is nada about Brad’s face that indicates he has had work done. What in the world are people looking at?
Kudos to Angelina for this recognition by the Producers Guild. There are the big players in the industry and their respect is well earned. You can be assured that they know how hard it was to get this production accomplished and into theaters.
Hard? Hard?! Seriously, you need to get off whatever it is you’re on. There are infitely more talented directors out there who are going to prison because of their craft. Not to mention the infinitely more talented directors who can’t get the money, etc., to actually make their work.
This particular award has been given to -I think- only Aamerican Producers. The Award was given to her in her quality of producer and to the other producers involved, even though she was the creator of the project. Like it or not, you Cannot say that other producers awarded other years are less deserving than producers in other countries with more difficulties to create movies. This is clearly an American Award as I see the list of producers and their movies, The only exception is that in the same year Hotel Rwanda was awarded, the award was shared with Voces Inocentes, a Mexican and American film about Using children in the war in El Salvador (hey, that was criticized too, because the actors spoke Spanish and not the local dialect). This movies was produced by Lawrence Bender, so the producer awarded was American.
What you said makes no difference since my argument was not that she did not deserve her award. I couldn’t care less frankly about whether she deserved it or not. My point is that all the hardship Jolie put up with was a few weeks of media controversy. She’s been at the center of more media controversy over her bloody private life so maybe someone should give her an award for that too.
Face absolutely glowing try prenancy, I think AJ is pregnant,It’s all over the web and I did not believe it, but in these pictures the black is suppose to hide her stomach area which is not flat, her bust is just hanging almost to her waist, too thin for that. Weird, IF , and only IF she were pregnant, this would be her third pregnancy, she did not started having children as a teen, She adopted at around 27, and birthing around 30 if she wants to have biological children, now is when.
She has much more in her life, do not compare her life with someone who sells everything about their children but the sex, or the actual “making” of them. Hey, they even must be thinking that to be on air, and receiving those tv checks, they must continue having even more babies.
I’m thinking the black dress is nice, but something is off about the way it is cut round the stomach area. Perhaps she is pregnant and the black is an attempt to hide it until they are ready to announce. Or she just has a slightly flabby tummy in which case she could have put on Spanx.

I would say that’s the look of the couple that already been through lots of events. You know, I also look different in the pictures after all this years with my hubby if you compared it with the pictures taken at the beginning of our relationship. ;D
I think its just you because many people have been saying how they look more in love lately than ever before. Their body/gestures in synch, the way they look at each other…they seem to fall more in love with each other as time goes by and you can really feel it through the photos.
Yea, possibly. I actually feel like their body language is different, like they’re always turned away from each other and never smiling. But you two are right – relationship dynamics change over time!

I like Brad, really I do but he looks just awful. If u look at all the pics from the night, his face is pulling to one side. I think he had some work done and it didn’t settle evenly. For those who think he has a role and that is why he looks how he does with the ugly, dirty hair and unkempt face, that is possible but hair grows and facial hair grows quickly. Also, you can grease your hair up again in a day or two. The man needs to make an effort because he is looking shabby.
As for Angie, I think the dress is just fine. The cutouts actually work for her because her figure is so blocky. She has no curves at the waist. Glad she covered up her arms as they are not an asset with all the tats and the ropey veins. She looks much better with sleeves. I’m liking her hair color. It looks much richer this color but it looks a bit too puffy and it is drawing more attention to her head which lately is looking out of proportion to her body due to her emaciated body. In my opinion, her dress slit should be much lower because her legs are way too skinny to highlight. Other then the slit and the boney leg sticking out, the dress looks nice. No, she does not look pregnant at all but who knows. Plus she has been seen smoking and drinking so i hope not.
She has a stunning face but a very unattractive body. Hope she gets healthy again.

She looks great. In the videos I’ve seen of the red carpet, the dress looks much better “live” and in motion than in stills. She rocks it any which way though. I’m not seeing how people think Brad has had botox, this is a man that is clearly embracing his age. He just looks better rested than he did at the Golden Globes.

I usually don’t like Jolie’s style at all, I find it sort of edging into a ‘corporate’ look sometimes, but the recent brown dress, the recent jumpsuit and this, LOVE them all. I am really loving these dark, long-sleeved lace dresses. Would love to be able to pull one off myself, but I fear the boobs would ruin it. Sigh.

I like AJ’s dress, I like the lace, it is a little different for her, which makes for a nice bit of a change up. I’d rather see her in something like this than one of those sack dresses that she prefers.
I know (a certain group of) people like to say AJ wears awful clothes but I disagree. I like her simple and mostly chic style. I think she dresses like an elegant (and sometimes sexy) and classy looking *woman*. I like that she doesn’t try to dress like some 20 year old hooker girl from the streets.
