I like how almost everybody wears black to the “lesser” awards shows. Not that the Producers Guild Awards aren’t important – I think all of the guild awards are probably better harbingers for the Oscars than the critics’ awards and the Golden Globes. But no one is racing to televise the Producers Guild Awards or the Writers Guild Awards, and there isn’t some huge red carpet walk, so when stars show up for the guild awards, they’re usually low-key in some simple black ensemble. But! Some ladies did sex it up. Like Sofia Vergara, who could honestly make a burlap sack look obscene. Sofia’s black (and burgundy?) sequined dress is by Monique Lhuillier. It’s pretty, and it’s a great design for Sofia’s curves, but I would have liked it more if it was all burgundy or all black.
Here’s Evan Rachel Wood in a fantastic black double-breasted suit. I can’t find the designer ID – I’ll guess Ralph Lauren? I like that Evan is confident enough to cover up in a black suit!
Jessica Chastain’s style surprised me – her look over the past year has been inconsistent, and she’s given me the impression that she really doesn’t care too much about fashion and styling. But I think someone might have gotten a hold of her this week, after her disaster of a look at the Golden Globes. Jessica looks great (and sexy) in this Balenciaga gown, and I love the pop of the green earrings and red nails. Her hair is improving too.
And here’s Viola Davis, one of the few ladies in color, in a lovely green Hervé L. Leroux dress. It’s a nice dress for a less-prominent awards ceremony. And her hair has improved a lot.

I think sophia has abnormally long arms and some coach told her to ALWAYS pose with her hands on her hips because she would look freakish if not. she’s the opposite of T-Rex matthew mccoughnahay
Although I love me some Sofia, I thought that was Catherine Zeta-Jones at first with that head shot! Her face is so pulled and dare I say, cat like.

Sophia is always gorgeous; her personality only makes her more beautiful unlike Angelina who’s always just kind of there….Evan looks great in the suit but I hate her hair.
Yes, you’re right. The animation in her eyes is what makes her absolutely gorgeous (although that smoking body certainly helps.) One of the sexiest stars around today.
I’m starting to like Evan more and more. Love all the ladies, they looked great but Sophia (love her!) lookked B.A.D. That dress looks cheap as hell, and her girls look like they’re barely staying in the top. And I’m keeping my opinion about Jessica’s dress sense on hold. Do not like that dress.
Me too. I just wish she wasn’t dating (or are they done?) Manson. He is such a tool. I like her as an actress but I can’t get past her personal life. She was really great in that mini series with Kate Winslet and Guy Pierce.
She hasn’t dated Manson in years. She’s with Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot) and I think they’re engaged.
Love, love, loathe, love. The material of the Balenciaga is revolting and the cut looks sloppy.

love the color-change of sofia’s dress, it would be boring if it were all one color. but it wouldn’t have killed her to go up a size, the girls look smooshed.
I don’t like Sophias dress. It seems that in most pictures she has her girls hanging halfway out. We get it lady, you got big knockers and a killer body. So knock it down a notch and cover up a bit.
Jealous? Don’t worry, everyone’s jealous of Sofia.

Evan is usually gorgeous, I agree – but I can’t get past her bloated face here. When did this happen? She has a great body that isn’t too thin, in my opinion, but this face just is big and puffy…hmmm..
And Sophia looks like Shania Twain. I think it is from the nose up. I think she has a fabulous personality and body to die for, but her face doesn’t do it completely for me.
Viola’s hair looks sophisticated and yet playful. Love it. I love the top part of her dress and the color is nice but I hate skirts like that – too gimmicky. Ruins it.
Evan Rachel Wood looks amazing. Classic, sophisticated and still sexy with the red lipstick and the neckline. Perfect.
Jessica – again a dress that woul dhave been better as a fun cocktail dress. The top is cute and sexy but the long dress is too much of that material. Her hair and earrings are well suited to a flirty short dress.
Poor Sofia. I save the worst for last. That just looks trashy. Not sure which makes it so bad, the obvious fake breasts or the too low front. The material is cheap looking and you never wear a fussy bracelet like that when you’re covered in sequins. Her earrings look good as does her hair and no one can take anything away from her amazing body. She should have gone naked.
That’s some small feat-pulling off the obvious fake breasts look when they are actually 100% real. She’s busty. Sometimes, that happens. Even to thin people.
I like Sofia – it’s tame for her.

Viola looks gorgeous, and I love how she’s styled. I am not totally loving Sofia’s jewels and shoes, but am as ever in awe of her body.
Love Evan’s suit, but her brows look too taupe and the hair like cotton candy in this lighting. Also looking gross, but less a function of light: the permasmug expression and jawline.
Jessica Chastain is so lovely and talented but man, I still don’t think she’s done herself justice at these events. She would look absolutely amazing in a better dress.

Love ERW’s whole getup (particularly the hair — looks a lot better with a little volume up top). Props for the suit — bigger props for having it well-tailored.
Sophia always looks to stuffed into clothes. Was she unable to zip the dress all the way? Why do people wear clothes way too small of them . . . how do they walk?
Usually love Sophia but this dress is a big miss.
