Is it wrong of me not to be impressed with Kirstie Alley in a swimsuit? I mean she looks a lot better than she did, but maybe she shouldn’t have agreed to this. She should get credit for having the nerve and going through it, there’s no doubt about that.

Well, she didn’t just do that spontaneaously - she promised it live on Oprah months ago, and it’s great that she didn’t pull out of it! She said that having the plan to appear on Oprah in a bikini would put pressure on her and force her to lose weight, which is obviously a good thing! She looks great from above the hip - her legs still look quite big, and her hips do so, too, but she looks so much bettern than she used to and I’m happy for her =)

55 never looked so good. Good inspiration, yes celebitchy, I think its wrong not to be impressed. She did it the right way, and who needs to be stick thin? She looks healthy.

The Hollywood thin is what is thought of as normal. However, isn’t the average American woman like 5′5 and a size 14?
Congratulations to her for committing to a plan and taking off 75 lbs. No doubt she had to do a lot of behavior modification to meet this goal.
Hey she is 55 years old. I think she looks good and kind of old Hollywood style body that is really curvy. Plus her stomach looks really flat.

Clarimonde - You are exactly right. I used to work at a company where a really curvy woman worked. When she would walk by the men would all stop talking and just stare at her. She wasn’t thin, definitely had extra flesh but how it was proportioned made her stop men dead in their tracks.

I think she looks like a real, fabulous woman…not a stick figure. She may not be my most favorite person in the world, but I applaud her for doing this and reminding us what a healthy and realistic image of beauty is.

Oprah did a bit the other day with a young woman who had become anorexic trying to fit the “super-model” standard. Wisely, she chucked the super-model goal and is now considered a plus-size model. She’s a size 12. Size 12 plus-sized? I’m sorry, that’s freakin ridiculous. Kirstie looks like a real woman, bless her little heart for putting it out there!

Damn, that took guts!!! Good for her. Sure, she’s not rock hard or super skinny, but she lost a lot of weight and good for her! I hope she can keep up the good work she started!
