Last night was the UK premiere of This Means War, that absolutely horrible-looking Reese Witherspoon vehicle which is just a rip-off of Mr. and Mrs. Smith (only in this one, the two spies are dudes and “the girl” is just a clumsy ditz!). Reese wore Louis Vuitton for the premiere, which… maybe on Cate Blanchett, I might kind of like this dress. But is it just me, or is this dress really unflattering on Reese’s figure? It makes her look really thick in the middle, and she’s NOT. It also makes her look like she’s hiding a boob job, which she very well may be hiding (new husband, new boobs?). Should I even say anything about the bangs (trauma)? I think Reese has a pretty heart-shaped face, and these scraggily, flat-ironed bangs don’t do much. I almost wish she had just kept the Jennifer Aniston-esque “beachy ditz” styling.
So unflattering. Why is she smiling like that? She’s going to bust something, she’s trying so hard.
Reese’s costars also walked the red carpet – here’s Chris Pine. This boy is handsome, but he does nothing for me. I think his attractive face seems kind of douchey.
But Tom Hardy was also there, and I need some alone time with these photos. JESUS. *fans self* Tom Hardy with a beard and a scarf? Who knew? He looks gorgeous. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), Tom seems to be back with his ex-fiancée, Charlotte Riley. They broke up a year ago (after Tom seemed to have gotten cozy with Lindsay Lohan!!!), but I guess they’re back on. She was at the premiere too, and they posed together briefly, but not exclusively. Don’t even get me started on her bow-covered dress.

Can we talk about the fit on the freaking shoes??? This is my pet peeve. Those shoes are at least two sizes too big for mer. I detest this look.

I would call it very contrived cute. She’s trying too hard in my book.

I wouldn’t be kicking Mr. Pine out of the bed, no sir I would not! I haven’t seen much of Tom Hardy but I’m thinking he’ll “happen” for me sooner or later but for now if I were Reese I would so engineer the win for Pine.
Love the green dress color, hate the weird color blocking with the black and yes it does make her look “thick.” I think she feels she needs this win after “water for Elephants.”
She looks like a hick going to the prom, terrible sense of style, and her smile looks like a mask plastered to her face.

Why critique her? Why not critique one of the most overrated fashion designers ever – Marc Jacobs. This, as well as other dresses in the current range for Louis Vuitton are eyesores.
Surely she deserves a better designer.
ITA. Plus, in the close ups, it looks like a really cheap outfit – cheap fabric and poor execution. Something you can see in a H&M store.
AMEN! I seriously do not get the vast majority of what Marc Jacobs touches. I am a pretty serious fashion person. I covet certain pieces every year and drool. He is one of the very few “big” designers that I have never wanted to own anything from.
Oh and this dress look like something from Desperately Seeking Susan.
I think reese is a little too old for these roles that why she is trying so hard. It time for a reality check.

That dress is really bad. The green with the black – really flat color combo. The cut is unbelievably unflattering. I guess they could only afford the sequins for the front? Very strange design that reminds me of some sort of poorly made costume for a high school majorette.

Is she pregnant? She has gained a little weight, and her dress is pulled up a little in the front. I know it’s the style, but it still looks a little pulled up. Her boobs look a little bigger, and her waist is looking kinda wide. Reese and Jim have been together for a while, and they may feel it’s now or never. Reese looks extremely happy.
I’m thinking that too, as in not just tummy fat, but pregnancy. When she gains, she gains all over – arms, legs,etc. Here, her arms and legs look good. I go with Pregnancy Theory.
actually i’m not hating the hair. It detracts a bit from her chin. Dress is a nice color but the fit isn’t flattering.

She looks terrible in that dress. This movie looks god-awful. I can’t believe my husband Tom Hardy is in it! It must have been something his agent pushed for to *diversify* his resume. Ugh. He’s too talented for this garbage.

I think Reese looks really nice with bangs, but not these onces. These are too thin, too straight, too not flattering for her try hard smile.

I like her hair but not the dress. The cut doesn’t look good on her. Chris Pine has pretty eyes, but as another poster said he has a huge forehead. Still I don’t think I would kick him outta bed till I was done with him.

i think that compared to the petite-ness of the rest of reese’s body, she does have a thick waist. i always feel she’s trying to wear things that don’t flatter that aspect of her build at all.
OMG.. is this outfit meant for a circus performance? She should have known better. Fake smile, desperate eyes…and she’s gaining weight in the mid section. She must be desperate for a hit now, that she’s no longer the HW golden girl.
I like the dress but she is wearing the wrong shoes. If she had wore a strappy shoe it would of been much cuter look. Bangs are ok. But the other chick in the black dress with the bows…no one over 10 should wear bows…you are not a little girl.

Reese is one of those whose weight seems to fluctuate ALOT. At Golden Globes she looked very thin. Here, even though dress accentuates it, not so much. I think she starved herself for the Globes or something. I don’t think she looks very good here at all, but I like her ok. She’s one of those that seem to be struggling as she ages with how she’s going to remarket herself. Bless their hearts.

I love her “hey, ya’ll” pose when she waves. It reminds me of my Memphis in-laws. Quite endearing. As for her dress, it seems that fashion is not my strong suite since every time a fashion line comes out and it’s called “gorgeous,” I just go, “huh?” It just happened with Michael Kors (who I usually love).

The hair is fine, the dress is an abomination on her. I can’t believe she looked in the mirror and said “I’m good to go!” She should have fired her stylist.
How like Baby Spice she’s starting to look. Not ideal. And that dress would be unflattering on almost anyone over 30 with kids, unless they were a supermodel. She needs a structured shape, not loose and gathered with a ribbon belt. WTF was her stylist smoking – does she hate her?
Seriously, I go to work every single day after blowdrying my bangs to perfection so they sit nicely rounded and I hate going out straight after a hairdresser appointment because they use a straighter and it sticks out funny (exactly like Reese’s) and yet EVERY SINGLE ACTRESS with bangs except Zooey Deschanel just rocks up to events with horribly flattened fringes. I can’t understand this.
She looks totally great with bangs. Love her hair in these pics. The dress is good, too, except for the waist, I agree, it makes her too thick in the middle, but otherwise, very cute. I noticed, too, her heels may be a little big, she should have used inserts to fill them out better. I’ve seen Reese many times in pics and her hair looks great here, a good look for her. I think she has a bit of heaviness in her body, and this dress actually IS more flattering than something more fitted.

ps – Tom & Charlotte probably already got married, there are other pics of the lucky lady where you can spot two rings on her finger. The silver engagement ring she got years ago (and never had to take off, Lindsay who?) and a new golden one.
