It’s been a while since Rihanna has been blonde, right? I can’t keep up with this stuff. I think she was last blonde when she wore an unfortunate wiglet for her Armani campaign. Well, she’s done it again, only this time she’s doing some kind of 1980s hair-band style. Rihanna began tweeting behind-the-scenes photos of her Elle Magazine shoot (she’s getting an Elle cover? Meh.) in which they bleached her hair and gave her extensions. After the Elle shoot, Rihanna went to the Roxbury – I’m including a few photos from her outing, in which she wore that fug orange sweater and thigh-high leather boots.
Rihanna claimed her new look is “stripperish” but I just think it’s flat-out ugly. I never understand why Rihanna does this to herself, or why she allows this to be done to her. I mean, I guess I understand the idea of “She’s 23, she’s experimenting with her look, she’s having fun.” But most of this stuff simply doesn’t look GOOD. I hated the pink-Kool-Aid phase, and this blonde-rocker look might be even worse. Dear Rihanna: You’re very pretty but please STOP.

Her constant change in looks, to these extremes, are more an indication of trying to get away from her true image, and get out of her skin, rather than experimenting with looks.
And that, more than anything else, is indication of long-term abuse. I think it started way before that Chris loser beat her up.

I’ve been saying it for years now but ever since the whole Chris Brown thing, Rhianna has been out to prove something and I’m not too sure what that is. Her career is stronger than ever but she seems so lost. Like she just wants to come across as being tough, hardcore and uber-sexual. I see a little girl who is lost and, while she is not my fave by any stretch of the imagination, its worrisome, I’d hate for her to fall victim to the life.

Strippers are glamorized and respected now. Men like them even more it seems. Im a nice girl and I get ignored and passed over all the time for s.l.u.t.s. Um they are all guys actually want. Men are now acting young until their 60s so ya they are here to stay. The majority of women dont want a career just to be provided for. Why do you think mysogyny still exists. We havent evolved a lot, both men and women. A stripper is now socially acceptible. If you say anything bad about them, you are automatically a prude.

I know for a fact she is sending a bad message to darker skinned people that being white is better. I have travel primarily to Latin and South America and the brown and black skinned people there are having their skin bleached to become whiter. In my mother’s country Brazil, the browns dont want the darker skinned blacks and avoid them altogether. I have met white Latinos that dont like black Latinos of their own countries! The whiter the better. Whites have better jobs and work and dating opportunities everywhere. Even in India they are skin bleaching. Asia and the Caribbean. Only here we want to tan to be darker but everyone else wants to be whiter. It is afterall a white dominant world even though white people are a minority in it. Its almost the aparteid in Brazil!
Why do blacks celebrities obssess over being white? Like Zoe Saldana. She is like a white person. It does send a bad message to impressionable Latinos, Asians, Blacks and Arabs that if you’re not white, you’re not right. Whites do have the world a lot better. I dont blame them for looking whiter but I hate meeting ethnic people and they have a huge “I wish I was white” syndrome.
