Beyonce and baby Blue Ivy go for a walk in NYC, and both wear flats

Oooh, new photos of Beyonce! And Blue Ivy, although you can barely see her. All up and down the east coast yesterday, record high temperatures (for March) warmed everybody up. Everybody went outside. Including Bey and Blue Ivy. It was so warm that Bey didn’t even feel the need to swaddle Blue in several blue blankets. So we get to see Blue Ivy’s little feet, which were clad in gold baby shoes. SO cute. Bey was wearing flats as well, surprisingly enough. She wore heels throughout her pillowy pregnancy, but it’s nice to see her being sensible now that she’s carrying around a baby.

Beyonce gave birth to Blue on January 7th (cough), so that makes Blue about nine or ten weeks old. And that means that Beyonce can now show off her postpartum figure, which looks a great deal like her pre-pregnancy (and pregnancy) figure. Maybe her thighs look a bit thicker, but it could just be those super-unflattering pants. They’re like slim-cut Capri chinos, and Bey has rolled them up even further?

Basically, these photos are fine. It’s nice to see that Beyonce feels comfortable enough to take a walk with the baby… and a bodyguard. I’m not going to yell and pull out my hair over the conspiracy theories and stuff. Whatever went down, Bey is now Blue Ivy’s mom, and she’s tryin’. Honestly, my biggest complaint is that Bey is wearing that one gigantic hoop earring. What’s up with that?

Good thing the bodyguard is there to pick up the baby shoes when they fall off!

Seriously it is hard enough to get socks to stay on little baby feet, I can’t imagine adding little shoes, too. But I also understand the impulse to want to dress her up a bit while out for a stroll. Funny.

    • Samigirl says:

I was thinking the same thing! It’s SO hard to put shoes on a newbie. Just double up on socks! My son was born in November, and I didn’t put him in shoes until he was getting ready to walk (Louisiana winters are mild). My little girl will be here in May and she won’t be wearing shoes for a lonnnng time.

      • EmmaStoneWannabe says:

Samigirl – where in LA are you from? Im in BR!!

      • Samigirl says:

        Shreveport, dear!

      • OMSS says:

@Samigirl Yeah, putting and keeping shoes on babies under 6 months is a nightmare!

@Asli LOL! I was thinking the same thing!

      • EmmaStoneWannabe says:

Aw yay! So happy to have a fellow poster on here from the real LA 😉 esp bc I read many of your posts and love em!

      • OMSS says:

@Asli, O_O… I’d drop out of school, buy a plane ticket… Oh, wait, I’m broke… I’d SWIM across the Atlantic just to see him! If only! *sigh*

    • Bad Gal Addiction says:

Same thoughts here. Why bother putting shoes on a newborn, it’s not like Blue starts walking any time soon! As far as I see these flats don’t fit proper at all and I wouldn’t squish my baby’s feet in stuff like that.

      • Ycnan says:

Oh goodness, it’s just for fun.

Who doesn’t like to dress their babies up when you go outside? Mine practically lived in sleepers at home, so when we went outside it was fun to put them in all of those dress up clothes everyone buys you.

      • normades says:

I know these shoes (baby Marc Jacobs). You can’t tell, but the shoe (more of a slipper) is connected to the sock.

I wanted these so bad, but seriously I wasn’t going to spend 60euro for shoes she’d maybe wear only a couple of times. Now if someone had given me those as a present…

      • Samigirl says:

Norm, we had some of those that we would use. NOT MJ though. More like Target, haha.

      • P says:

@normades I know some people will find it ridiculous but I bought a lot of those cute shoes for my baby. I don’t think it’s a lot of trouble to wear because as you said they are connected to the socks, and they are so cute.

      • normades says:

I don’t find it ridiculous at all. I just can’t bring myself to buy designer digs for my child when there is a lot of cute inexpensive stuff from Carter’s etc..

Personally for little babies I love those “trompe oeil” mary janes or sneakers that are really just printed socks.

    • SpunkyPR says:

I was thinking the exact same thing. I have 4 kids and never bothered with shoes until they were 6 months. What’s the point?

    • Girl says:

We don’t even bother with shoes until baby is walking.

And that carrier is awful. Baby’s legs should be in a frog-like position. It’s bad for their hips and back.

  2. Samigirl says:

Re: the earring. She probably forgot the other one. Sometimes it’s hard to remember stuff when you’re a new mom. I choose to believe that instead of thinking she did it on purpose.

I love that she’s baby wearing. I guess it’s my inner hippie coming out, but I think it’s great!

    • Riana says:

I thought about that, it’s the one thing that makes this pregnancy/baby thing make Beyonce look good. That like a normal mom she has no clue she’s only wearing 1 earring.

Now get a pic of her with mismatched socks or frumpy hair and I might just like her…slowly.

      • Tapioca says:

I think it’s adorable that you believe Beyonce would have left the house without staring at herself in the mirror for an hour, changing her clothes, firing her stylist for picking out the brown boots that make her calves look fat, changing her clothes again, standing in a 3D scanner so she could admire a holographic image of herself from all angles, redoing her hair, trying on 15 pairs of sunglasses and then having her baby handed to her just as she walked out of the door, but then I’m a little cynical like that!

      • sandy says:

        Tapioca that is soooo funny!

    • Emily says:

I thought it was either she forgot, the baby pulled it out, or she was trying to remember which side she breast-fed on last!

      • Samigirl says:

Now THAT is a good idea. I’ll remember that one!

      • Miffits says:

A bracelet also works better than a hula-hoop sized earring, Samigirl 😉

      • normades says:

I had a little ribbon I would tie to my bra strap, but eventually I just got too confused and did the every 4 hours exchange. That way the baby can get some of the fattier hind milk.

    • Samigirl says:

      Tapioca, THAT is hilarious.

And these are all really good ideas. I wish I would have had that common sense the first go around, lol. I’ve got ribbons, bracelets and normal sized earrings, haha 🙂 Thanks for the tips, ladies!

      • Domestic diva says:

Omg I didn’t know any of that about keeping up with what breast to feed with.., I’m due any day now and honestly birthing class doesn’t give you practical info like that haha. Oh she took the eating out to probably talk on the phone

      • Jaye says:

        @Diva and Samigirl,

Congrats to both of you on your impending little blessings!

    • Jaye says:

Or maybe it fell out and she hasn’t noticed yet.

  3. backwards says:

I have baby blue’s shoes in black. Blue totally stole my look!

  4. Lis says:

She looks good. I think she just forgot the earring – which doesn’t just happen to new mothers.

I never had a problem with her wearing heels when pregnant. Some peoples’ feet just get used to them.

Also, my sister and cousins all wore heels when pregnant. They said that, with the differences in how they held their weight, they were more comfortable than flats.

    Eh, they’re her feet.

  5. Rux says:

Of all the friends I have that were preggo and had babies; lots of them probably 20+ friends. All of them gained weight in their face and took awhile for it to come off. I still call BS on her pregnancy but as you stated she is Blue Ivy’s mom now and she is trying to let all that other stuff fall to the side. I am not throwing anymore shade at this Bujjiii Bey.

    • Ryn says:

I never gained any weight in my face when I was pregnant. And I was 3 lbs below my pre-pregnancy weight by 8 days postpartum. It IS possible and it DOES happen in real life.

  6. LadyJane says:

Funny how bey had no difficulty rockin 6 in heels when 9 months “pregnant” but only wears flats and sneakers when holding a real baby.

    • Riana says:

Hey, she knew if she tripped while ‘pregnant’ she knew shed be landing on a pillow. Can’t say the same for holding a baby 😉

    • Gia says:

      Co-sign!

    • EmmaStoneWannabe says:

I was thinking the same thing!

    • OMSS says:

@LadyJane, ehm, you do realise falling over with a baby in front of you (especially at such a young age) is way, way, way more dangerous than falling over pregnant, right? And, Beyonce has pretty much worn heels all adult life (she dances in them!!!), so while she was pregnant it was not a big deal. She has always worn heels and is comfortable enough to know she is just as likely to trip-up as someone who is comfortable in flats (I trip-up on daily basis is flats, but I’m naturally clumsy :D). I’m guessing she is just being extra cautious because the baby is no where near as safe as she was in the womb.

    • Jaye says:

I fell when I was pregnant with my son (many moons ago) and I was really scared that he’d suffer some injury. My doc told me that baby is pretty well insulated from injury because of the amniotic fluid and the layers of whatnot(technical term) between him and impact. I can see Beyonce wanting some kind of traction while she has her baby in her arms because there’d be nothing between Blue and the pavement if she (Beyonce) fell.

  7. paola says:

never wear white trousers when you have those hips and those thighs. sorry bey but you look like hell here.
oh and i’m sure she had 2 earrings to start with but maybe baby Blue went swining on one of them and she broke it.

    • Sassy says:

I am thinking that the large legs and thighs are a sign that she WAS pregnant. If she wasn’t pg, why would she let her self gain weight?

      • paola says:

to make everyone believe that she was truly pregnant?

      • LAK says:

please google B all the way back to early DC days. She’s always had those thighs and hips.

She has always had a KK figure without the boobs.

    • MST says:

I have fairly big hips and thighs and i do wear light-colored pants in summer — it just gets too hot here in summer to wear black all the time. The trick is to wear a colorful tunic-length top that attracts from the bottom. A top that ends in the widest part of the body is not flattering to anyone, unless you are a stick and don’t have any hips.

    • Jaye says:

She doesn’t look like hell, but the pants do emphasize her thighs and hips.

  8. Maria_Spain says:

“Beyonce gave birth to Blue on January 7th (cough)”

    Lol! XD

  9. paola says:

the partition in her hair looks pretty neat to me. have you seen the fugly shoes? i wouldn’t get caught alive in those.

    • paola says:

oh my god i can’t believe i wrote ‘ i wouldn’t get caught alive in those’ instead of ‘wouldn’t get caught dead in those’. oh well you got my point 🙂

  10. aenflex says:

That’s one big baby for 10 weeks old.

  11. Bizness says:

THAT IS A DOLL!!!!! Look at the weird arms, and the legs, no way! 9 week infants still curl their legs up even in a baby Bjorn! Babies legs dont stretch out for awhile!

    • Redheadwriter says:

My thoughts too. Blue Ivy is (supposedly) young enough that she’d still be all snuggly and scrunched. That “baby” has arms that are stiff and legs that don’t move.

      It’s always odd with Bey….

    • kazoo says:

      LMFAO

I don’t believe these conspiracy theories, but I find them hilarious to imagine happening.

  12. normades says:

    Those are baby Marc Jacobs.

The bottom shoe is connected to a tube like sock for better hold. That said the baby is too young for these “shoes”. How unnecessary.

    • Domestic diva says:

My cousin is 2months I bought her like ten pair of those show sock combos it’s so hard to not dress up little girls everything is just soo cute!!!! I don’t think it’s unnecessary at all I’m having a boy but I still wind up looking a the girl stuff and just buying it for my new baby cousin lol

      • normades says:

These Little Marc Jacobs retail for almost $70. But I guess if you’re Bey that’s not a problem.

My girl wouldn’t keep booties on so she didn’t start wearing shoes untill she started to walk.

    • Jaye says:

Baby dress up is not about what is necessary, it’s about dressing your precious little angel in cute clothes that they are going to quickly grow out of. My mom bought my son this cute little sailor suit with a matching sailor cap and booties. He looked SO freaking adorable, but he only wore it once. Thank God we have pics!

  13. fabgrrl says:

Awwww! Although I would NEVER wear giant, shiny, easily grasped, earring(s) like that while carrying a baby.

    • Jaye says:

THIS. I watched my aunt’s 4 month old daughter yank her hoop earring right out of her ear. Ripped right through the earlobe. Every time I hold a baby and I’m wearing hoops or other dangling earrings I think of that and take the earrings right off.

  14. Blue says:

Girls with legs like hers (mine) should not wear light coloured pants like that. They make
    the lower half look hugeeeee

  15. Stubbylove says:

Sweet Jesus I can handle skinny jeans but please tell me pinning/rolling pants is not coming back…NOOO!!!!

  16. kris says:

My first baby I gained weight all over. For baby number two only my belly. My face looked exactly the same at 9 months pregnant as it did the day I found out I was pregnant. My child was over 8 lbs at birth so yeah this could be a 10 week old we have no idea how much she weighs now as we are not at her well baby check ups. Also the legs and arms would relax if baby fell asleep.
My problem is why the heck is she using a baby bjorn, Those are awful. she should have an Ergo or something which offers much better support for the baby and proper hip positioning. If she can get the plexi-glass whatever ridiculous crib why not at least try for the top of the line baby carrier. Also good to know that stroller GOOP got her sits in the garage. HA!
also her lower belly looks to have some bulge. If she only gained the recommended amount of weight when pregnant it would have fallen off by now, too. She was in great shape. Look at Miranda Kerr who had a 10lb baby and was back to modeling undies in what seemed like a minute.

  17. TheOriginalVictoria says:

Be smart CBers! Bey Bey answers all doubtful inquires about her duplicitous nature through grand PR moves. A lot of people thought she wasn’t carrying B.I.C. Inc. around the last time we saw her, then people talked about her always going out without the baby, which is why she brought her out the first time.

So this is all done to prove:

-that she does spend time with the baby without nannies
-she is being a better mother than Posh and all the other women who teeter on heels with infant in hand (she’s being consistent with this)
-that the baby in the carrier is real
-and that we don’t forget she exists and is a trendsetter in her delusional mind.

    She does nothing spontaneous

  18. MS says:

I am a firm believer in that any woman who is as thick in the legs as Beyonce, should never wear anything that tight on the lower half of her body! Every ripple and dimple is not meant to be seen…. Nasty!!

  19. Leikyn says:

Ms.B needs to rethink those pants.

  20. RuddyZooKeeper says:

I don’t know what the weather was like, but if it was that hot the baby is going to get WAY overheated with a wrap over her face and head. My God, how can she breathe with her face pressed up against mom plus the black scarf or whatever it is?

  21. anya says:

Are people really doubting that Bey is post pregnancy? Just look at her!

I think she looks fab- but it’s clear she’s not the same size as before.

  22. Cait says:

I’ve heard some mothers say putting shoes on babies early encourages them to walk sooner. Don’t know if that’s true or not.

  23. yoyo says:

ask any doctor they will tell you that you should NOT I repeat NOT put shoes on babies. Most adult shoes are bad for your feet emphasizing esthetics over foot health 99% of “baby shoes” are a million times worse (unless they are the soft textile ones that don’t actually do anything more than a well fitted sock would).

babies need to muscle up their feet and develop foot/ankle propioception, the best way is to for them to be bare foot as much as possible, including when they are toddlers.

Now of course some people are born with flat feet and other foot issues, a qualified podiatrist will let the parent know when to start putting the kid in shoes and with what in-soles if any but yeah shoes on babies: ridiculous.

PS the only reason we have shoes is due to our city way of living and to protect from the cold (+ loads of vanity) In Kenya and other such places (warm and not overly urbanised) all those long distance runners and even just the population walk/run barefoot pretty much always except on rare occasions. The feet develop natural callouses and can take A LOT of abuse if they are gradually used to it.

  24. hopeerlea says:

Hey Bey, ditch the crotch dangler that ruins infants spines and get a real carrier like an Ergo, Boba, Ring Sling or a wrap or something. Man, I hate Bjorn’s.

Don’t these celebs read any articles regarding how bad these carriers are? Can they read? Even my Dr told me never to put my baby in these Bjorn carriers and that she sees so many infants with sore backs and bruised spines it makes her angry.

    • normades says:

I know I sound like a broken record, but the Ergo is THE celebrity baby carrier (and a fantastic one at that). Apparently Bey didn’t get the memo.

  25. The Catlady says:

    I want those leopard flats!

  26. reg says:

Yes, that Mexican baby is much older than 2 months, and we won’t see her face for a while because she will look more Mexican as she grows older.

  27. reg says:

I don’t see any difference at all she was a giant he-man with elephant trunks for legs before and she is exactly the same size before her “pregnancy”.

  28. SmartGirlsAlwaysWinInTheEnd says:

“Beyonce gave birth to Blue on January 7th (cough)…”

*Laugh so hard I died, but had time to type this. <–

  29. Michelle says:

She definitely looks like she had a baby recently, if you look at her lower body. And BIC looks like a good size for 2 months. My boy was 25 inches at 2 months and easily looked like he was four months old. He’s 6 months now and looks older than babies who are 8 or 9 months.

  30. thethinker says:

I’m thinking those pants look great on Beyonce. She doesn’t need to hide her curves away. Maybe it’s where I’m from.

Always love mum and baby pictures.

  31. lorraine says:

Aren’t babies arms supposed to move? They are in the same position in every picture
