Jennifer Lopez “thinks she is very lucky to have met Casper Smart.” For real.

These are some days-old photos of Jennifer Lopez on the set of her new music video in Acapulco, Mexico. I never got around to writing about them because I honestly didn’t think the photos were all that interesting. I guess it’s interesting that Casper Smart – who is seen in some of these pics – is described as the “director” of the music video. Like, he’s all legit now. Street cred, yo. He’s directing his girl’s music video. He has a JOB.

Now that Casper has a job (which his girlfriend gave him, maybe out of pity), it’s time for another round of “Is Jennifer going to end up married to this facially challenged d-bag?” Survey says: yeah, probably. Read this sketchy story from People:

Is Jennifer Lopez ready to walk down the aisle with Casper Smart?

Speculation ricocheted around the web that the pop star, 42, and her beau, 24, might be ready to tie the knot when fashion designer Roberto Cavalli seemed to send out an intriguing Tweet to his followers on Monday.

“Today , Jenifer Lopez. Call me…… She ask me. To create a special dress. For her next weding. !” he appeared to Tweet. “Wich color … Do you advise me. ?”

But any imminent plans for the couple to wed are not true. Cavalli’s rep tells PEOPLE that the designer’s account had been hacked and “therefore it’s completely false,” and a close Lopez source says, “They are not getting married. They are not even engaged.”

(Lopez’s rep did not respond to multiple requests for comment.)

But that doesn’t mean Lopez and Smart aren’t still going strong. In fact, the couple seem to be getting along better than ever. Just this week, the pair spent time in Acapulco, Mexico, where Lopez filmed a music video. And Smart has been spotted supporting Lopez during live tapings of American Idol.

“Jennifer thinks she is very lucky to have met Casper,” says the close source. “He is everything that Marc wasn’t: kind, supportive, appreciative…There is a lot of love between [them]. He treats her like a queen.”

Smart has been bonding with Lopez’ twins Max and Emme, 4, as well. “He is great with Max and Emme and genuinely cares about them,” says the source.

Meanwhile, Lopez and Marc Anthony, 43, who split in July of last year, have still not finalized their divorce, although a source close to Anthony tells PEOPLE that they filed “months ago.”

[From People]

My head couldn’t hit the desk fast enough with “Jennifer thinks she is very lucky to have met Casper.” Girl… get it together. I still can’t believe we’re watching J.Lo repeat – she already had a backup dancer husband! Cris Judd, y’all!! Cris was The Original Casper.

Incidentally, in the new issue of Vogue, Jennifer’s on-again manager Benny Medina (didn’t she fire him at some point only to rehire him?) talked about Jennifer’s man issues. Medina thinks J.Lo is a serial monogamist, and he described her problem:

“The thing that I always sort of wished is that she would give herself time to just naturally meet someone, instead of having obsessive guys pursue her… The ease with which that obsession becomes a relationship I think sometimes works against her ability to have a real meaningful relationship. And she never half does anything. When she commits to anything in her work, her life, or her relationships, she is in it. She’s not oblivious to her own reality right now, as in, ‘Damn, I’m 42 with a 24-year-old. Why?’ We talked about it yesterday… She was just like, ‘It’s not even the age, Benny. It’s actually that I just came out of a relationship where I felt like I was kind of not getting what I needed. And I’m open! So somebody who steps in right now and is actually touching me in a way – it’s very fertile ground!’”

[Medina’s comments via Radar]

Well… Medina is really putting it out there, isn’t he? Sort of. I think this is a version of Jennifer’s situation, but it’s not quite the truth. Medina frames Jennifer’s man problems as “So many men are obsessed with her, and she falls for dudes who worship her and then builds the relationship from there.” While you could make that argument with Jennifer’s relationship with Marc Anthony, I don’t really see it as a pattern, you know? Mostly Jennifer just goes for whatever low-hanging fruit is right in front of her.

“Cris was the original Casper”…and 10 years later and 2 kids later she hasn’t learned a thing.

    • oh dear says:

lol i was initially thinking this is going to end like britney and kevin. but yeah, this woman has first hand experience with cris which makes it even worse.

    • Tapioca says:

Wasn’t Cris the post-Puff Daddy incident “good guy”, who was chucked like a live grenade the second Ben Affleck came onto the scene?

He seemed like a decent guy on Celebrity Survivor(?), even though he was obviously used and discarded, so comparing him to the Gremlin seems a bit harsh!

    • Rin says:

      Trust.

  2. katie says:

I just saw on GMA that her stunt double for the Fiat commercial is a dude. I’m not sure what to think about that!

  3. DailyNightly says:

Is Roberto Cavalli so illiterate that he cannot spell wedding or which?

    • Jennifer12 says:

It had to be a hacker. The spelling and grammar were hideous, and he wouldn’t ask for advice from anyone, much less publicize a wedding before he was supposed to.

    • Dalstongirl says:

English is not his first language, so that could be reason why.

    • Zelda says:

He’s Italian. A little sensitivity for people speaking English as a second language, here.

    • BlackMamba says:

Keep in mine that English is not Roberto Cavalli’s first language…

  4. Lem says:

    24? yikes!
    She’s so….. What? Needy?
Like Demi; I’ll never understand that type of women

  5. Jennifer12 says:

She is trying to rock a style that’s for women 25 years younger than her. At some point, you have to say, “I want to look good, but acknowledge my age.” Actually, same for Casper; in your mid 20s, you don’t need to hold on to your teenager style. But it kind of explains her emotional age. I hate American Idol, but having seen snippets of it, her condescending attitude toward the contestants- especially women- does not point to a good personality.

  6. Lavender says:

J Lo’s taste in men is seriously confusing. That aside, she looks amazing.

    • paola says:

yes i agree. i think marc anthony was the lowest of the lows. those black eyesockets and that ghosty face. he looks like a zombie and unfortunately the kids look exactly like him.

      • mira says:

Seriously? So to summarize – one of the best vocalists on the ground, dozens of Grammy nominations, five Grammys, three awards for excellence in music, several foundations to help disadvantaged children, called the King of Salsa, a person who makes a few interviews, but a lot very impressive concerts, great father and a very supportive husband (from the words of Jennifer herself, even after divorce)? This guy is the worst choice? Just because you do not like how it looks? Or because he not does PR campaigns to discredit Jennifer to look he better?
Really mature and profound statement on your part!

    • Marjalane says:

Her taste in pretty much everything is awful! Even on Idol, she nonstop pimps this Asian guy, (Huang? I don’t know-) even while the other judges are giving her serious side eye, she keeps gushing over him. I’d love to see what her home decor is like- I’m thinking a pink and gold Mae West kind of vibe.

      • paola says:

i think her house is more like fur everywhere, zebra skins, snake skin, old furniture and loads of gold yes!

      • Mimi says:

Heejun is adorable and America loves him, he’s ever been in any danger of being eliminated. It’s not only JLO who loves him!

  7. Samigirl says:

I don’t understand why she feels she ALWAYS has to be with someone. Does she even have time to breathe between relationships? And what’s going to happen after Casper? And after the guy after Casper? And after THAT guy? Is she just going to keep introducing her children to them? I could write her a book on the things that does to a child. Very sad that this woman who has EVERYTHING has so little self confidence that she only finds her worth when she is with a man.

    • Rin says:

Yes, but we all have at least one girlfriend like that…the serial daters. They HAVE to be in a relationship because Heaven forbid they spend time with themselves and become someone interesting.

And then there’s the women who wanna be Donald Trump with the young twinks and horrible hairstyles. With all of the media subconsciously telling women to dress like sluts, find young bumpkins, forget about aging with dignity…is it any surprise?

  8. Mimi says:

She looks so young, how does she do it?

  9. paola says:

in the last few days i’ve seen a couple of her movies.. she is adorable in ‘Maid in Manhattan’ or in ‘Monster in law’ i just don’t know why she can’t stick to a Ralph Fiennes kind of man! Someone of her age, succesfull, not famewhory and that wears a shirt instead of a tank top.

    • Jackie says:

a ralph fiennes kind of man would not be interested in a relationship with jlo.

      • Mimi says:

A white man wouldn’t like a woman of color? Racism is alive and well, folks. SMDH

      • Kimble says:

I got the feeling that Jackie was referring to intellect – where on earth did the “woman of colour” crap come from?

      • Zelda says:

        @ mimi
Yeah, I was under the impression that it referred to a level of maturity. Lopez is American Idol and spokespersonning, and spotlight-loving. Fiennes is euro-intellectual, and lowkey, and vaguely snobbish. I’d think they were a weird couple, too, while I could see Fiennes with someone like an Iman, no problem.

Skipping straight to colour says more about your worries than it does about Jackie’s comment.

      • yep says:

        @ mimi

you sound ridiculous. pretty sure she meant a classy intellectual wouldnt want a chick like jlo because she has the mind of a teenager.

why does everything have to be about race??? argh, people like you annoy me to no end.

      • Agnes says:

yeah, i got the impression that jackie was referring to jlo’s insatiable need for fame and constant attention. ralph fiennes (and his ilk) seem much more low-key and prob wouldn’t want the paps on them 24/7. not sure where “racism” could be read into that…

      • mel says:

Thanks you mimi for my first big eye roll of the day…your ability to take things out of context should be applauded.

      • Alexis says:

Not to be that person, but I do think people are WAY quick to call JLo trashy/unsuitable for quality men, much quicker than they would be for a white woman who’s done a lot more than be a serial monogomist. I never heard this kind of talk about Kate Hudson or Drew Barrymore when they were single. *hides*

      • Leticia says:

Mimi, come down off the ledge.

      • Zelda says:

        Alexis–
You’ve not been around here when people tear into Kate Hudson for just that, I gather…

And I don’t think people are calling Lopez trashy for her serial monogamy, so much as they are just straight up bitching about it. IF they think she’s inappropriate for “quality” men (?) it’s because she’s a diva and a sellout, which is not restricted to race, last time I checked.

Anyway, since when has serial monogamy ever been a RACIAL stereotype? Am I so out of the race-accusation loop that I didn’t know that one? And if there is a (stupid, unfounded) racial stereotype about women in relationships, isn’t that stereotype that white women are more needy and complacent? Race argument does not compute on this topic, about this woman, does not compute to me.

      • D. says:

        LOL.

Ralph Fiennes, who has a nasty habit of publicly humiliating his spouse/girlfriends with his very public infidelities?

Ralph Fiennes, who got caught banging a stewardess in a gross airplane lavatory? Yes, what a classy, refined individual.

Sorry, but his personal life is pretty sordid – the idea that he’s too classy for J.Lo is laughable.

Amazing what a posh British accent will do for your reputation.

    • paola says:

Mimi i think Jackie wasn’t talking about her color, i’m sure she was referring to the fact jlo is vain and she loves being in the spot light, she likes being the centre of the attention and she’s not even close to the characters she plays in movies, humble, simple and low maintenance.

something is bugging me though… why people always refers to colors when no one mentioned them?!

    • BlackMamba says:

@Mimi…I didn’t get anything about race in the comment, everybody knows that J-lo is a Diva Monster in every possible way and that it takes a special kind of man to be with her and it does not seem like Ralph Fiennes is that type of guy. And if you must know since you seem to be stuck on race, I am a “woman of color”. Don’t let negativity get into your head like that, it’s bad for your health.

    • Lindsey G. says:

I don’t think, based on her relationships/marriages/engagements, that she’s ever been the least bit interested in a man like Ralph Fiennes.

    • Orange Cone says:

“…that wears a shirt instead of a tank top.”

that cracked me up hard! thanks 🙂

  10. sarah says:

I hope she marries that guy. And wears white to her wedding. Because she’s almost virgin and almost has never been married, you know?

  11. Neelyo says:

“He treats her like a queen.”

There’s the answer right there. She doesn’t want a husband, she wants a loyal subject.

  12. foozy says:

i think she’ll regret cris one day

  13. bea says:

Lucky? Wow. She must not know about the food court at the mall. She could meet an army of young dudes with no visible means of support and other assorted issues.

  14. mel says:

When I watch her on AI I can so get why she is with Casper Smart…she is still has that Brooklyn street vibe and I imagine that’s where she is ultimately more comfortable. To jump from a marriage to a relationship that fasts says more about Lopez and her insecurities than it does really about Casper. He has a job…or had a job as a dancer…he doesn’t seem to be the father of numerous kids…so you know…leave him be.

  15. Agnes says:

perhaps she should qualify her statements – she’s lucky to have hired him. or, rather, to have someone who works for her hired him.

  16. Julie says:

At the end of the day, live and let live. If she wants to enjoy herself with a little boy toy, why not! Guys do it all the time and no one blinks an eye. When guys have a hot young girl on their arm, they just get a wink and a pat on the back saying “well done”.

In other news, I burst out laughing at this: http://twentytwowords.com/2012/03/15/jennifer-lopezs-stunt-double-is-a-man/.

Yes, “Jennifer Lopez’s stunt double is a man”.

  17. marybeth18 says:

This seems to be a pattern- she hooks up with men who are more her “equal” (Diddy, Affleck, Anthony) who have the ego and the drive and the need to control that goes with it. Those relationships are probably a constant battle, with these two people demanding to be in control and in focus. Then when she feels battered and bruised (metaphorically) from those relationships, she goes to the exact opposite type: the easy, unambitious, basic guy who worships her and lets her call all of the shots.
The problem with jumping from one relationship to the next is that there is not time to reflect on what she learned. She probably learned a lot from her marriage to Marc, but rather than focusing on that, she’s devoting all of her attention to Casper.

    • Leticia says:

      well said

    • Honey B says:

I totally agree with your analysis. Many women are like this. They are attracted to powerful men who try to control and dominate them. It’s attractive at first and then overwhelming (even abusive) as time goes on. They lick their wounds by rebounding with a less dominant man (boy) before repeating the cycle – again and again.

  18. Jayna says:

By the time people separate and file for divorce, there has been a disconnect for at least a year and lack of intimacy for a while. Who wants to casually date? It’s empty. She isn’t hurting anyone as long as she doesn’t rush into marriage.

  19. CaramelKiss says:

Okay, I get the whole “I look younger than I actually am” mindset and having younger guys constantly approach you and flirt with you can be a contributing factor to JLo’s dilusional mindset and the lack of maturity. In all honesty, I think she was bored in her marriage and wanted something more exciting which lead to Casper, I guess. It does speak volumes that she got with someone almost 20 years her junior.

  20. Bev says:

I don’t think Benny Medina is trying to sell Jennifer Lopez as The Most Desirable Woman of All Time…he isn’t saying that ALL men are obsessed with her, just the ones she chooses to get into serious relationships with are obssesive types.

The kind of guys that love to court you but once you’re together it becomes diffrent. And you know women get very attached.

I feel like he was trying to be diplomatic, his probably thinking more about her brand than she is right now and is trying to protect it while trying not to speak out of term so as not to upset his client. Does that make sense?

  21. Cirque28 says:

I actually don’t think Medina’s wrong. I bet men do become completely obsessed with JLo and pursue her hard. She’s still gorgeous. Are they men with good character though? Doubtful.

    • Relli says:

Me either! I think he makes an incredibly good point that maybe none of us ever thought about. She has never had a relationship that grew organically from drinks to sleepovers. everything for her in love is fast, furious and obsessive. Don’t get me wrong those hot and sweaty romances are great. But they usually don’t have meat to them (no pun intended)and burn out quickly. Her perception of what love is, is very skewed and if its not that burning hot love she is used to then she dismisses as not real. AND if these men are obsessed with her public persona, than they aren’t really in love with JLO the person but JLO the performer. So her relationships end up being a house of cards built on an unstable foundation and its no wonder why they keep tumbling.

  22. Alexis says:

JLo is so pretty. She looks like she’s in her early thirties, and you can tell it’s not from plastic surgery — probably she uses really expensive skin products and does peels, and MAYBE even a little Botox (but her face is very expressive, and I haven’t seen any signs of it, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t even do that). I think she has good genes, and she’s never engaged in any of the hard living that a lot of other stars do.

    • Bev says:

That’s a good assesment and I would agree.

    • cerulean says:

Disagree. She has a great surgeon. If you look at old photos of her you will see that she has completely redone her face. She has had eye surgery, several nose jobs, fillers, eyebrow lift, botox and peels. Good work but she has been doing it for years.

      • Linda says:

Wrong!! Botox, fillers–yes. Surgery on any part of her face—no.

Same eyes, same nose. Google her and ‘focus/study’ pics of her from 1990’s, and you’ll see eyes and nose the same.

      • cerulean says:

Sorry but I see a nose job. I still maintain that at least with a few other tweaks. Maybe Botox can mimic eyebrow lifts and fillers can too but she does a lot of work on herself. Its not natural. No one in Hollywood is all natural.

  23. sandy says:

It’s so obvious it’s all about the sex!! he’s smackin it, flippin it, and rubbin it down just the way she likes! something crooner skelator hubby couldn’t do. clearly. then she totes him around and he’s available so he’s “supportive”. Marc Anthony was an international singing star! I mean he’s got real singing talent! he probably needed her support more than she needed his. I really just say live and let live but still, J-Lo looks a bit silly with this youngster. she’ll get over it when he starts to want a life outside of her. which is inevitable.

  24. Krilly says:

She looks great and she’s having fun. Women, we’re too hard on each other. Don’t begrudge the girl some fun and if she makes a mistake, so what. We all do. Who knows what she went through living with the Crypt Keeper. I love Marc’s singing but I can’t say living with him was a charm. I do know having someone in your life who treats you well feels good. Just wish I had taken as great care of my body as she has. I might be out and about getting my groove back with a young dude too. I do think the two go hand in hand. Older chick with bangin’ body and young dude who knows how to rock it. No need to marry him. Just bask in the glo.

    • mira says:

How do you know? Whether it is easy to live well with him or not. And if it is easy to live well with Jennifer or not? If Marc had made such statements about her as she does for him (including convenient insiders – Medina as example) what would you think for him? Marc just has class and character. And if she does not, of course, she will feels in trap.

  25. cerulean says:

Marc was abusive to her so maybe she just wants something easy and ego rejuvenating. Though I think this time should be more about her children and less about a man. She is never with her children it seems.

    • mira says:

And you know that he was abusive to her, from where? From insiders, close to Jennifer? How many times you see Jennifer look tired and tormented during their marriage? Because I’ve seen much more often Marc look like that. And before Jennifer – he just seemed healthy and in peace, though skinny (such is his structure). This nonsense with the control and abuse is invented from magazines with the active assistance of Jennifer’s camp. However, one should think a little – how many times you heard coming out from the mouth of Marc bad thing for Jennifer in magazines. Or gossip in his favor? You think this is a coincidence?

  26. Maritza says:

He treats her like a queen and he loves her kids, he is not jealous or controlling and most of all she is happy. The best part is he is always with her, she doesn’t have to fear he is having an affair like with Marc. Jlo lives for the present, right now this relationship is perfect for her. I still say Casper is not ugly, just average.

  27. Birdie says:

She looks stunning at 42. Simply stunning. She never smoked and she is not a drinker. I should take notes..sigh

  28. DMSR says:

In my experience people coming from dysfuntional relationships tend to overcompensate on the rebound. Hence, the young tiny tatted dancing wannabe gangster. I’m guessing its all a front. As he is probably more feminine that she is. For her, that means unlike the last relationship. She is now in full control, and just like a man, the fact that Tiny Tat is old enough be her son, feeds her ego lol.

  29. Shamozzle says:

This chick is a total dipsh!t.

Just when you think she can’t get any more immature, she takes it to a new level. Pathetic.

  30. cprincess says:

The only reason anyone cares about her now is BECAUSE of Benny Medina-her manager who is a master-shes lucky he took her bad after she fired him…

  31. anya says:

I agree Jlo is the most stunning 40+ woman out there- it’s quite unbelievable.

  32. Hi my friend! I wish to say that this article is amazing, great written and include almost all important infos. I would like to see more posts like this .
