Salma Hayek at the “Ask the Dust” European premiere

Salma Hayek stars with Colin Farrell in “Ask The Dust,” which opened in limited release in the US in March, and received mixed reviews. “Ask the Dust” is the story of the sadistic relationship between a struggling novelist and a Mexican waitress in the 1930s, and is based on the 1939 novel of the same name by John Fante.

The film opened in Madrid for its European premiere yesterday, and Salma Hayek attended. She also appeared at a photocall for the film today.

Hayek has said that she doesn’t like the Hollywood lifestyle and that she tries to avoid it by living on a farm in the country. She also says that she faced blatant discrimination as a latin-American actress trying to break into film. Hayek is now single after a string of long term relationships and is enjoying the process of finding herself.
