Natalie Portman’s business look, killer coat in Paris: flawless and amazing

Natalie Portman is in Paris, looking flawless. When I first saw these photos she looked a little Botoxy to me, but now that I see her up close it’s just that her skin is so smooth and pretty. She’s only 30 after all. Plus her makeup is perfection. Look at how well made up she is, this must have been professionally done.

In terms of Natalie’s fashion, I just love her coat! In these photos, she’s wearing the same kick ass tailored trench with three different outfits and two sets of amazing shoes, and she’s working the hell out of it. It’s like she stepped out of a magazine spread. I can’t believe I’m gushing over Natalie Portman. This woman has rubbed me the wrong way for years. (See conceiving the conception.) But she’s back, she’s got a baby she’s not pimping out, and in these photos she’s not even going to some fabulous fashion event – she’s dressed up like this to be a spokesperson for a charity. Portman is representing Free the Children, which supports education in over 45 countries. She’s also been the face of Dior Beauty, which has just announced that the proceeds from one of their lipsticks will go to Free The Children. So I guess we can assume the Dior wizards made her up and helped style her so well. Here’s more:

She already has an Oscar, but maybe Natalie Portman deserves a medal, too.

Having already teamed up last year on a Free the Children project, the actress is back for an encore—this time as an ambassador for the charity.

“As a mother and the organization’s newest ambassador, I am grateful to Free the Children for giving me the opportunity to channel my passion and love of children into meaningful action that furthers the education and leadership of young women for years to come,” Portman said in a statement released today. “I hope others join me in supporting this important cause.”

It was also announced that Portman has partnered with Dior—she’s currently the face of the brand’s Miss Dior Cherie fragrance campaign—with proceeds from the sale of the company’s newest Rouge Dior lipstick to go to Free the Children in support of its Scholarships for Girls’ Secondary Education in Kenya program.

Now I remember the Natalie before her Oscar campaign, the one who supported microfinance charities and was a committed vegan. (Before she got a little preachy about it.) It’s nice to see Natalie take her big gig for Dior and pair it with a cause she cares about.

She looks beautiful in the top pic.

  2. Bite me says:

    Timeless beauty

  3. LeeLoo says:

Yay Natalie! She really has matured a lot in the last year. She used to rub me wrong too but now I think she’s pretty decent. I don’t think she feels the need to be preachy and just quietly stands by the causes she believes in. It seems to be a lovely combination of turning 30/becoming a mother.

I hope the same thing happens when I turn 30.

  4. Jackie says:

    those black pants are killer.

  5. Rux says:

I have had a girl crush on her since Closer.

  6. podzol says:

Portman still annoys me. But she’s got amazing genes and a beauty that plastic surgery cannot buy. She has the same classic looks as Rania of Jordan. And I really covet the trench coat.

    • Liv says:

Yeah, you can say whatever you want (I always sense something bitchy about her), but she has a really really beautiful face.

      • Lenore says:

I agree there’s something faintly bitchy about her, sometimes, but I have to admit that that makes her more likeable to me, more human.

You get the feeling that when she’s out on the town, she’s had a couple of drinks and a sneaky cigarette her yoga instructor CAN’T EVER KNOW ABOUT, she starts with the acid. It’s always the sweet ones who are the most hilarious when they cut loose.

And then at 3am she’s forgotten she’s vegan and is yelling at a taxi driver that she’ll cut him if he doesn’t find her an all-night McDonalds…

Sorry, I just kind of like her. And yes, she is staggeringly lovely too. (Sorry to tread on Ms Brick’s theory.)

    • Lara says:

Plastic surgery bought her THAT NOSE, so get real. NATURAL BEAUTY MY ASS.

      • endoplasmic_ridiculum says:

Agreed. She is beautiful but she has had a subtle nose job.

I have nothing against plastic surgery, I just wish people who have had good plastic surgery were more open about it so that we could all avail ourselves of the talented surgeons!

  7. fabgrrl says:

    LOVE HER!

  8. imabrat says:

Simply perfect, and a talented actress and seemingly gracious woman. She’s one of a very few real stars in the industry.

  9. Astrid says:

Great post, thank you. She looks wonderful and working a good cause.

  10. Nessa says:

I don’t care for her much, but there’s no denying how beautiful she is. Motherhood is definitely agreeing with her.

  11. BW says:

She looks great, but I must be the only one who thinks the coat doesn’t fit her. The sleeves are too long, and it bunches under the arm pits. What is she doing with the belt? It looks like it’s just flapping behind her in a couple of picks.

  12. Katalina says:

I need to know where to get both of the pairs of shoes that she’s wearing. They’re GORGEOUS.

    • Azurea says:

I agree! Very cute shoes…so much better than all the f***-me stripper pumps & clodhopper hooves which are still so inexplicably popular.

    • Fue McCormick says:

I’d like to know where she got the shoes, as well. I’m always looking for vegan stuff and I can never find anything like the ones she is wearing.

  13. Sarah says:

Ill-fitting trench coat, which makes it look cheap (I’m sure it’s not).

    • NYC_girl says:

I don’t think it’s that ill-fitting (I love that term). The sleeves are a bit too long, but the shoulder seams look like they hit the right place.

  14. Katyusha says:

    She is stunning.
Ever since she did the rap for Saturday Night Live with Andy Samberg, I’ve always liked her.

  15. lolas says:

    jalouse!

  16. anthea says:

    LOVE THOSE BLACK PUMPS

  17. Les says:

You like that coat? It liooks like an ugly and cheap trench coat like I used to wear when I was a teen! And she has aged, and not gracefully! She looks my age, and I am going to be 50, and I look 30, and I know it, and everybody else too. She should stay away from the sun, and keep her hair down, otherwise, she looks matronly! :o)

    • jj350 says:

Ok, you have to be completely delusional. This woman does not look 50 AT ALL, but then again I doubt as a 50 year old you look like you are 30. You feel the need to pat yourself on the back obviously, get those jabs in where you can I suppose.

    • Remote Control says:

Delusional ladies in their 50’s are so weird! Seriously, you don’t look 30. Stop kidding yourself, it makes you look 60.

    • normades says:

I don’t know what world you’re in, but in this one Portman does not look 50. lol!

  18. lucy2 says:

She looks stunning – love the coat.

  19. TheOriginalKitten says:

I’ll be in PARIS in just 2 weeks! Woo hoo! I want a nice trench like that for my trip 🙂

  20. Isa says:

I like the trench, but something in my says it should be paired with brown instead of black. But my style is questionable.
I think she is beautiful. Her face is perfect, except for her eyebrows that go straight across. The bug the crap out of me.

  21. Alexis says:

I will sneak into her building and cut her hair…she just looks better with short hair.

    • Alexis says:

I totally agree about the short hair, thing, Other Alexis. (I feel like Barry from Archer) She looks fine with longer hair, but it’s awesome when her hair is shorter then shoulder length. She even looks great nearly bald. Kinda like Sinead O’Connor (who looks best with a buzz cut even now, imo).

She is so fierce. She makes me want to get a traditional colored trench (I already have a navy one). WERQ!

  22. ZenB!tch says:

Her hair is a fine fly-away mess. Other than that she looks nice.

  23. sup says:

i know she says dumb shit sometimes but i can’t help but like her. some of her acting work was superb.

  24. Cleo says:

She should move to Paris – i’m sick of Diane Kruger acting like she is SOOO French!

  25. Camille (The original) says:

She’s giving me Jolie vibes here, very chic. She looks great.

  26. Peanut says:

Are those shoes from her line? Both pairs are AMAZING. I want.

  27. S says:

She looks beautiful, but, um – correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t she split from Dior?

    • JulieM says:

I think she was going to split from Dior after Galliano stepped in it with his big mouth. But I think she stayed on when they sacked him. She is still in the Miss Dior ads in the mags today.

  28. erin says:

the shoes are just SO good. and you can’t beat a classic trench.

  29. UniqJazz says:

Her hair looks soo dry…or it’s her color. She might need to get her hair colored again.

  30. Vera says:

I love those black shoes so much.

I’ve liked her for a while, but when she seemed to get a bit high-and-mighty I wasn’t so much a fan of that even though she had a group of good movies at the time. Now she seems like she’s gone back to how she was before and I am very pleased.

She looks good in all of the outfits – not all of it is to my tastes, per se, but they are all nicely put together and flattering.

  31. DuBarry says:

You dedicated an entire article to some low budget coat?

  32. ManicPixieDreamGirl says:

It looks like motherhood has really aged her. She used to look so fresh faced and beautiful all the time. What Happened???

    • Liberty says:

She was at the next table at lunch a couple of months ago. No make-up, casual, flawlessly beautiful. And very nice when an elderly man asked for her autograph. She looked about 23 actually. Lucky girl and her baby was so cute.

  33. pinns says:

Her gorgeous black satin ‘bow’ pumps seem to be Dior Resort 2011, so aren’t for sale anymore 🙁
When I googled them I found pictures of Kate Moss wearing them too, which put me right off, and since they were around £550, perhaps that’s for the best!!

  34. Samantha says:

I’d much rather read about beautiful, talented and articulate women like Natalie Portman for instance than those Kartrashcan shmucks any day!

  35. reddmasters says:

You can love her or hate her, but she gets it right, every time. Perfectly styled. This is what celebrities should look like. Not some stupid Kartrashian or Lohan bleh.

  36. Ravensdaughter says:

She looks great-“glowing” is such a cliche, but that fits.
    Note ROCK on left hand……

  37. carrie says:

Natalie has been under the radar since that ballerina outed her for her fake “dancing” in The Black Swan. I didn’t expect Portman to take part in such a deceit. I thought it would be “beneath her”. I guess not.
