Ever since Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds got together, friendly little Blake-centric pieces have been dropped into tabloids and such, and they began to give me an idea of what Blake and Ryan are like as a couple. And I do believe they are a couple, by the way. I think they’re probably in love. I don’t think this just a PR thing – I’m not even sure that Ryan ever does publicity fauxmances. I think he definitely likes girls – specifically, he likes big-boobed blonde girls. He likes girls who stay at home and cook for him. He thought he had that with Scarlett Johansson, but as it turns out, the whole “being quiet and staying home” thing was just a phase for ScarJo, and once she was done with that phase, Scarlett was ready for the “boning Sean Penn” phase of her life. But I think Ryan has found what he’s looking for with Blake. In any case, Blake seems more suited for him, because the impression I keep getting is that they’re both super-WASPy. They like ice cream socials in Connecticut. They like country clubs and reggatas and hanging out with their WASPy families and drinking martoonis. More evidence:
Things between Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are getting so serious, they spent the holiday weekend together along with Lively’s family. On Saturday night, the couple went to see “Mary Poppins” on Broadway with several family members and afterward went for late-night treats at Serendipity 3 on the Upper East Side.
We’re told Lively and Reynolds, both wearing hats, held hands while they ordered a round of desserts, and remained largely unnoticed by other diners. Sources told us two girls sitting at the next table noticed Lively’s phone, saying: “That girl has the same iPhone cover as Serena on ‘Gossip Girl!’ ” — not recognizing the actress until her party got up to leave.

This story is being billed by some outlets as “Blake and Ryan are headed to the next level because he’s hanging out with her family.” But they’ve ALWAYS hung out with each other’s families. Blake went to Canada to visit with Ryan’s family, and Blake’s folks are always in NYC visiting her too. They all get together and do WASP things. Which are a mystery to me, so I can’t describe them. What do WASPs do at this point? Are they still hanging out in country clubs all the time? And then they go yacht-shopping?

They are couple, that’s for sure. It’s amazing how they are “playing” the PR-game. I don’t like her, she wouldn’t had a career without her nose-job. But these two make sense, they are great together.

You forget the boob job, veneers, peroxide and Hollywood family!
She’s what we would all be if we grew up with a modicum of acting talent, parents with connections and a willingness to mutilate ourselves to achieve an aesthetic ideal, and in that way she’s almost aspirational.
But “Chanel” aspirational? Non!! What was K**ty Karl thinking…

I agree with the ones you mentioned except the Hollywood connection. Only because at least two of her siblings and her Dad are actors but they aren’t doing as well as her. Maybe they choose not to but I don’t think they were “up there.”
As a matter of fact I think the “Hollywood connection” thing is a little exaggerated I think if you know the business and work the right casting agent that helps. But if you are not talented or make good business decisions that can only go on for so long. I think she and Kate Hudson are examples of that. But they have fan bases so that must help a lot.

I can’t decide if I like the black/yellow coat. From different angles – yes; other angles – no. I know I would not like it on me whatever the angle. As a woman with an admitted “coat problem,” I usually LOVE her coats. It’s the only opinion I can muster about her/Ryan Reynolds. “Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, you say? I like her coats.”

Whatever happened in Europe with Leo stays in Europe. This girl caught a train to Boston and has not looked back. Folks can say what they want about Ryan R, but he seems to stick in the minds of the woman he dates and NOT one of them has ANYTHING negative to say about him. Alanis had a 2 yr breakdown and Scarlett said she was a little lost after the marriage. Go figure!!
