Amanda Bynes “refuses” to go to rehab post-DUI arrest, vows to continue partying

Amanda Bynes is a mess. Less than two weeks ago, she was arrested for a DUI after clipping a police car. Since then, People Magazine has been fed some exclusives from Camp Bynes, like her father claiming that she “doesn’t drink,” plus the pity-poor-Amanda piece about how “lost” she is without a career. Despite the efforts of her family and (presumably) her PR team, Amanda has continued to party and act erratically. It’s said that she tried to go back to The Standard just hours after arrest. And then there were the photos from last Thursday night – Amanda leaving the Marmont, texting and driving and running over a curb. The message: Amanda doesn’t want help. She’s spiraling.

Hollywood’s new bad girl Amanda Bynes is refusing advice from her friends and managers to go to rehab — and continued partying on Thursday night. The former Nickelodeon actress was arrested last week and spent a night in jail after she reportedly careered into a cop car in West Hollywood. She was booked on DUI charges.

Despite being advised to remain low-key, Bynes, 26, went out clubbing for yet another night Thursday, following her run-in with the law. Our spies spotted her at the Chateau Marmont with pals before heading to West Hollywood club Greystone Manor.

A witness at the club said, “Amanda came in around midnight with one male friend. Paparazzi were all over her. She left exactly 15 minutes later and drove away in her black convertible.” She was also reportedly seen texting while driving and backing her car over a curb and onto a sidewalk after leaving Chateau Marmont.

Another source said, “Amanda’s friends are growing increasingly concerned about her and want her to go to rehab. She has been advised to stay home, but she refused.”

Another source added, “She is not the same girl as she was a year ago. She is just doing whatever she wants to do. Friends are concerned because she is not the Amanda they know.”

We reported that Bynes went straight from the pokey to the Polo Lounge following her arrest. After she made bail, she was seen at the Beverly Hills Hotel power spot meeting with top criminal defense attorney Richard Hutton.

And we’re told Bynes had been asking for tickets to head to Palm Springs to party at Coachella this weekend, which is featuring performances by the Black Keys, Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.

Her dad, Rick Bynes, last week said that his daughter doesn’t drink, and she was just at the police station for help because “she was upset and very emotional.” The actress’ rep declined to comment.

Part of me wonders if this is some sort of angle by Amanda – maybe she wants to be relevant, maybe she wants attention, and she decided to go the Lohan route. Another option could be that she is just a really damaged girl who has issues. I don’t know – but she seems more Lohan than “innocent victim”. There’s a callousness to her refusal to stop partying, to continue to drive while (possibly) under the influence. It seems like she simply doesn’t give a crap. So… I hope she gets the book thrown at her for this DUI charge. Maybe the state of California will force her to get sober. Hahaha, that was a joke. California won’t do anything. Watch your asses, Angelenos.

I agree….this is an angle….fame by addiction (the Lohan path to publicity).

    • marie says:

so sad that this is now a thing..

    • Ruby Red Lips says:

The last photo could be Lohan!

I really hope this is just a phase and people are exaggerating – not a desperate attempt for fame a la Lohan style…but whichever way it seems to be working with the amount of press coverage

    • sara.typhoid.mary.martin says:

Next in Mandy’s life: she’ll write a book called “Goin’ Lohan…I mean going’ sort of rogue like PalinKardashian…Whatever”.

  2. shaniqua nunyadambidness says:

…the band-aids. They just never get old.

    • the original almond says:

If she needs that many band-aids just to wear a pair of shoes, it’s time to either invest in some panty hose or change the shoes. I’d go with the latter; those babies look like serious killers.

“Maybe the state of California will force her to get sober. Hahaha, that was a joke. California won’t do anything. Watch your asses, Angelenos.” <This part of the story is hilarious and so true.

    • Marjalane says:

Not to mention, no one gets sober because someone else tells them to. I also thought you got your drivers license taken away with a DUI?!

      • Original Lucy says:

I was thinking the same thing…I have a friend who got a dui and the cops took his license immediately (it wasn’t LA though)…guess they don’t do that in Cali…too bad, cause this chick is gonna kill someone! Maybe, just maybe, they will take her license then!

      • the original bellaluna says:

Original Lucy – Oh no, Madame! I had a resident (I was in property management at the time) who lost her license for (a minimum of) 3 years; had to attend a veritable butt-load of classes (for which she was charged); and her fines were astronomical.

Granted, we weren’t in LA or H-Wood, but she paid DEARLY for her DUI. And we were in SoCali.

        So why doesn’t anyone else?

      • Cat says:

Silly, the law only applies to you if you’re a regular, non-famous, person.

  4. T.C. says:

Starting to enjoy the bad girl coverage I see. Sad.

  5. Roma says:

Sometimes I have to drink just to make wearing my shoes bearable…

  6. Lauren says:

I don’t understand how she still has a license. I thought when you got a DUI that you lost them for 30 days or something. Either way this girl is a hot mess and I hope she gets some help before she’s as far gone as the Cracken.

  7. jamie says:

I’m the queen of bad home dye jobs and I really shouldn’t criticize buuuut…that hair is god awful. I hope she didn’t pay someone to do that to her. Sweet jesus. She looks like me when I was 14 and did most of my shopping at Hot Topic.

  8. Reba says:

I’m scarred forever after reading about Bynes and room 23, google room 23 lipstick alley.

Don’t u have to register? I’ve been there but didn’t wanna register for just 1 thread

    • mln76 says:

The RDJ imposter @ CDAN had a lot of info on her and though I think in general the whole thing was a dumb hoax most of what he said about her before her DUI seems to be panning out. Girls’ got issues I feel bad for her.

      • normades says:

I agree with Min about Himmm. He had some relevent things to say, but his credibility was shot because he tried to be RDJ.

That thread on LSA is probably one of the most disturbing things I have ever read. By the third page I was sick to my stomach.

I think some of it is true though. Amanda and Hayden def have issues. And enabling parents. According to Himmm Hayden’s mom would make Dina Lohan look like mom of the year.

  9. alison8701 says:

Well she was a child star and maintained a fair amount of success through out her adult life… I think when that happens, people lose perspective and accountability. Which i think leads to a lack of responsibility and a feeling of entitlement. and people just feeling like they can do whatever the hell they want.

Hopefully her family and friends tell her to cut the crap and do what they can do not enable the behavior.

  10. mia girl says:

Wasn’t there a blind a while back about a young female celebrity who was going to play out/fake an lohan scenario to try to get some press again?

  11. TXCinderella says:

Lmao! Those band-aids. If you have to use that many band-aids, maybe those shoes are not the right fit. She looks terrible! It does appear that she is on a downward spiral. She used to be so cute. What is it with these Disney actresses that they feel the need to be the “bad girl” when they grow up?

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

Exactly what I was going to say. I would never wear shoes that make my feet hurt that bad. Young girls can be idiotic.

  12. Fyofeelings says:

This isn’t nothing more than a cry for attention movie and tv roles become slim to none no ones checking for you as an actress anymore and the only chose to go the LL route same story different name.

  13. grabbyhands says:

Apparently Lohan isn’t enough of a cautionary tale. The big difference between her and LL is that people actually wanted to work with Lindsay before she went into her death spiral. Amanda Bynes was never going to really get to that level.

  14. aquarius64 says:

She’s gone Lohan. And unfortunately CA won’t step in unless there’s a fatality.

  15. Shelly says:

Not everyone who gets arrested for a DUI is an alcoholic and needs to go to rehab. Sometimes people just make bad decisions. The concerning thing to me, though, is that she’s going to clubs this soon after her arrest and then driving! So, she either does have an alcohol problem, or she is just a twit who is too stupid to get the fact that driving after drinking is not a good idea.

  16. trtgfc17 says:

Damn, wear a pair of knee high boots or something, bitch! 1999 called, it wants its hooker heels back. Those bruises just won’t stop gouging my eyes out…

  17. Dragonlady sakura says:

I suspect she has gone “Lohan” on purpose to get her name back in the media. I don’t feel any compassion for drunk drivers and if she’s doing this to scam people, I hope they throw the book at her…but they won’t.

  18. 5280 says:

Geez Amanda….Just go to the liquor store and get a bottle of booze and stay at home and get hammered….it’s much cheaper and doesn’t endanger the public……and you can still text all your “Homies”.

  19. kris says:

why fall into the cliche? these people are so weak.

  20. Jover says:

I agree kris I’m beyond caring about her; she’s an adult, has money means more opportunities than most her age, if she falls off the face of the earth who’s really going to miss her – she’s easily replaceable t and a in celebutard land; I have more sympathy for our service men and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan and joining the unemployment line than I have for this brainless twit – sorry to be surly.

  21. Mich says:

Fellow Celebitches, I love you! I have been hinting on the last several Bynes posts that we should dig deeper into the more salacious rumors and finally we are! I credit TheOriginalTiff for going full tilt on the last Bynes story. Well done girl!! Let the games begin and I have your back!

  22. Jilliterate says:

There was a blind item recently about a former child star who had her own show, headlined films, had no career now, and was heavily into drinking. All this, of course, points to Bynes, but I don’t know, this whole thing feels very orchestrated to me. She’s gone from “Amanda who?” to frequently-blogged-about overnight. I’m really getting the vibe that this has all been fabricated to jumpstart her career.

  23. original kate says:

this is the way to jumpstart or revive a career, it seems; become a sad, drunken ho-bag and poof! you’re back in the spotlight.

  24. neema says:

    Grade-A snizzcopter.

  25. jwoolman says:

Gosh, I hope it’s all a stupid comedy stunt… She actually showed some talent as a comic actress. I always had the feeling Lindsay Lohan’s greatest asset was her distinctive look, she wasn’t really a standout actor and has no natural comedic timing. Amanda Bynes, on the other hand, was doing quite well in comedy sketches as a preteen and beyond. Nickelodeon even upgraded her to hosting her own comedy show before she graduated to a non-Nick sitcom.

  26. hillbillygirl45 says:

I’m moving to Hollywood and opening a car service, (there’s not any). These poor idiots need all the help they can get. Here where I live, if you get a DUI, immediately they take your license for 90 days…..but, we are just plain folks around here. Another crack-opera in the making…..

  27. Peg Allan says:

Amazing for sure. I spent a number of years with the band Fishbone and I always thought the same way. I never heard the same “song” twice.
