Claire Danes in red Lanvin at the Time 100 event: candy-wrapped goodness?

Claire Danes

At last night’s Time 100 event, Claire Danes opted for more color than the ladies in white. As such, she wore a red Lanvin shift dress made of material that can only properly be described as resembling a Fruit Roll Up. That’s not necessarily a bad thing though because it’s not like she’s pulling a Katy Perry Sweet Tart look and pretending to sit on clouds and poop gum drops. And I do like Fruit Roll Ups even though I rarely indulge (not for weight reasons but because I’ve become quite obsessed with dental health lately). So this is a good (and just daring enough) look for Claire, who accessorized with diamond stud earrings and metallic gold Lanvin platform sandals. Her hair and makeup are appropriate and lovely as well.

Also, this is a great tan trenchcoat that is very flattering to Claire’s coloring and figure.

Rihanna also attended the event but was only photographed outside her NYC hotel (by our photo agencies, anyway). Pacific Coast news notes that Rihanna was “dressed to kill in a hot pink gown and black cape,” but it looked more like she was wearing a fuschia prom dress and a spare coat borrowed from one of her bodyguards. At least she covered all of the necessary parts though, which is really saying a lot when it comes to RiRi and equates to a relative “fashion win” by those standards.

I think she looks fantastic. I was never a huge fan of hers-but I’m hooked on “Homeland” now, so she can do no wrong in my eyes. And as much as it pains me to say it-Rihanna actually looks good.

Looks like the Project Runway challenge where they have to make an outfit out of a grocery store or whatever. Pretty, but still a plastic table cloth.

This seems very January Jones to me – like all american girl trying too hard. I don’t like her in high fashion.

Looks cheap, like baaaaad imitation leather, is the colour of dried blood, and does nothing for her great figure. Sorry Claire, that is an awful dress.

Although I do like her face here, hope she continues to leave it alone….

I don’t know about the dress, but her makeup is the best it has ever looked, that artist should be kept close.

It’s just too stiff, photgraphs like she’s wearing a sandwich board, and the shoes are way off for the dress. Hair and Makeup are good and i love the necklace. But overall a miss.

    Seriously? Her hair??? Ugh!

Seriously — are we looking at the same picture? Her makeup is lovely. Her hair is some Pink circa 2007 throwback and the dress is atrocious. It does look like she is dressed in fruit roll up — not good.

Bad. She always dresses terrible. She doesnt know how to dress. Her skirts need to be shorter or way longer not right above the knee. Bad style for a pear shaped girl. And her hair color is awful.
