Last weekend, People Magazine reported a strange little story about Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively. After spending the better part of the past seven months on vacation in Connecticut, it seems like they had bought a nice piece of property in Bedford, New York. Allegedly, the little country home is about an hour drive from the city, which is probably the perfect country-to-city distance. I wasn’t surprised that Ryan and Blake had bought property together – I was merely surprised that they hadn’t followed their WASPy instincts and bought something abutting a country club golf course in the heart of Connecticut. Anyway, Star Magazine’s gossip girl (Victoria Gotti, no joke) claims that her sources (in “trash collecting” and “enforcement”) are telling her that Blake and Ryan could end up having a “surprise” summer wedding in the Hamptons:
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds could be headed down the aisle as soon as this summer!
“A surprise wedding is imminent,” one snitch reveals. “Blake’s pushing for something low-key on a beach in the Hamptons.”
But even though they’ve been dating for less than a year, the delightful duo are already “practically living together,” says a source – and they’re looking to get even closer.
“They looked for houses in Long Island, Connecticut and Westchester,” says one insider. “They need to be close enough to pop into Manhattan for work and social engagements, but they’re suburban types and can’t wait to find a quiet spot to start their lives together.”

I wonder why Star didn’t jump on People Mag’s bandwagon with the Bedford, NY story? Unknown. Maybe Ryan and Blake will end up with an apartment in the city AND a country home in Bedford AND a beach house in the Hamptons. OMG! Perfect. Is that the dream? It might be, actually. As for the whole idea of having a little summer wedding in the Hamptons…? I don’t know. It seems rather gauche for Blake and Ryan. I’m thinking… Martha’s Vineyard.
Wedding dress ideas? My guess: Blake would want Chanel. But she would settle for Jason Wu. With custom-made Louboutins.

She was still really pretty enough pre-nosejob to be cast as the requisite ‘hot/pretty girl’ in Accepted, as Bridget in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, AND as a beauty queen (yep!) in Elvis & Annabelle. Not quite the ogre pre-nj that you’re making her out to be. You’re embarrassing yourself really.

You’re right, she was getting those roles before. The work is subtle and well done, and the difference is more noticeable in photos than it is on film. She still has a prominent nose; she didn’t go for a little button or turned up beak.
I don’t begrudge anyone tweaking their appearance to make themselves feel better, but I wish they would realise less really is more.
Jackie, I agree with you. I think she got her nose tweaked, not a major overhaul, and it looks great. I also think her eye lids look a little less droopy.
Bottom line is she is beautiful and has great body.
I don’t get the attention for these two. They’re totally snoozeville. Also: they’ve been dating, what, a year? Whatever happened to letting your relationship evolve and ripen a bit before you get married?

Not buying this story.
I like them together and think they make way more sense than Ryan and Scarlett. They seem to be working toward a more laid back quiet lifestyle.

Don’t get the hate for these two. They seem like a nice couple, looking for what most people want – a loving, stable romance. And it seems to me they’re not moving too fast. There are plenty of other good-gossip bad-relationship duos out there to keep gossipers happy, without bad-wishing these two.
I like Blake Lively a lot. I don’t know why. Maybe its her moxie. She seems like the kind of chick who goes for and does what she wants. I also think she’s beautiful in a very real way and talented.
I hope it works out of this is true. Ryan Reynolds seems totally annoying in a Dane Cook-ish “I think everything is funnier with sarcasm and volume” way…but physically he is a good look.
I don’t know why, but as soon as I heard this I immediately thought: “Don’t do it Ryan!” o_O

It’s obvious most of these reports are based on sightings not inside sources. That’s why they’re all over the place in terms of location, who bought, etc.
Bedford is at least as waspy as anywhere in connecticut — probably more so. and much more exclusive
I don’t know…I don’t see him going into another marriage quite so soon. They haven’t been together that long and he knows how things can and do change in time. She’s had a fair amount of relationships that didn’t last long. I can see living together first, or dating for a few more years, but not marriage right now. I certainly don’t see Blake as a very talented actress, which is probably why she hasn’t had more roles. I think they should wait and not jump into marriage.
It does look as though they are rushing things, but when you consider they worked together a few years ago I’m sure they got to know each other’s faults, and they do look very happy so good luck to both of them.
