’50 Shades of Grey’ is awful. Sucks, coz I really wanted to like it, but even the sex is boring after a while. Plus, all the lip biting and stumbling and blushing is really quite annoying.

I totally agree with you, it was a bad/boring movie. But I knew it would be awful because that book was terrible. I actually thought New Moon was done pretty well. I liked that director the best.

Agreed. 50 Shades is not well written or very interesting. Catch phrases like “Laters, baby”, “Inner Goddess”, and “Holy crap” made me cringe. Main character, Christian, is very unlikable.
However, even the author says she is surprised at the response because she is not a very good writer. Good for her- she is at least honest, and ended up making a mint. Don’t see what others are raving about , though…

And I really have no excuse — I should have expected it, because the book was so gaggingly awful. My God, that climactic “battle scene” — yakity-yack-yack-yack-yack-see-ya-later-have-a-nice-weekend-gone. I slogged through 750 pages of turgid prose to get to that climax. If Stephenie Meyer had been within ten feet of me when I reached that point I might have smacked her upside the head with a rancid mackerel.

I read the actual fanfiction called “Master of the Universe”. It’s terrible. But it’s also hilarious. I really want to believe that E.L. James was like, “How can I just totally bastardize Twilight? Oh, I know- make Edward a BDSM freak!.” It’s fitting and kind of perfect, in a way. That being said…it sucks. Even the sex scenes get old pretty quickly. There are these long email exchanges between the two of them that are obnoxious. I don’t see what the big deal is. And they’re planning on making this into a movie? Ugh. Hollywood just has no more f*cks left to give.
