These are some new photos of Matt Bomer and his family at Saturday’s Revlon Run-Walk in LA. Bomer has been in a relationship with his partner, Simon Hall, for years and years – that‘s Simon in the navy windbreaker. Doesn’t Simon look a bit like Tim DeKay? I actually thought it was Tim DeKay for a moment. Anyway, Simon and Matt have three children together, and the little blonde boy is their son Kit. Before Bomer got White Collar, he was an openly gay actor, but for the first few years of White Collar, Bomer seemed to go into “the glass closet,” never speaking about his long-term partner (who is also his publicist) or their family. But! Back in February of this year, Bomer did make a public speech in which he spoke about his partner and their family, and after that, every media outlet was running “Matt Bomer comes out of the closet” stories.
Anyway, I just liked these photos. I like that Matt Bomer is participating in a celebrity run-walk for a women’s cancer research and awareness – he’s doing it for the sisters! And I like that Matt’s partner and son came out too, and that no one felt weird about being photographed. How cute is Kit, by the way? That boy is going to grow up to be a heartbreaker.

I could be wrong but I don’t think Matt did much before White Collar that warranted him doing a lot of interviews. Considering he had kids and a longterm relationship I doubt he was hiding his homosexually. Some people just don’t talk about their personal lives in interviews.

Actually White Collar is his least rated show. Travel which he was the lead was pulling 8 mil for ABC. He was also part lead in Texas Chainsaw Massacre which did well over 50 million internationally.
What you should mean is that he has now got a publicist which he never has had! WC is not the highest rated show on USA and yet I don’t see that much posted about other USA shows…so go figure?
Anyway I am glad he finally realizes that you need a publicist to work with your agent to make sure you stay in the spotlight which in turns brings in the roles.
I knew of Bomer from Texas Chainsaw and used to try and find out more about him but could not at all. I only know of WC because I found out about him again through some hot pictures. You see I don’t get USA channel, so White Collar is not not known amongst my friends nor amongst people who call themselves TV watchers.

Although WC is not USAs highest rated show, it is USAs best show with the best cast. Matt is also USA networks biggest star now. No other USA actor is making films with top directors. WC was a mere launch pad for Matt as he is going to be huge long term.

I know he likes men and all but by Golly, I find him so irresistibly HOT and whenever I watch white collar he makes my lady bits feel something! He is definitely top five hottest Hollywood actors for me…he is so beautiful and the fact that he looks like a committed parent/ partner makes him even more beautiful. He’s partner is one lucky man!

Sorry to be nit picky but it’s Simon Halls.
Simon Halls isn’t Bomer’s publicist but the publicist of USA channel, so all the shows on USA and anything to do with USA channel.
And Tim Dekay? Tim has more of a blue collar aw shucks look about him that is very wholesome and square. Halls looks like a cynical hard bodied Hollywood man. I don’t think goofy when I see Halls, I think power. He screams authority! Lolz.
Oh and Halls said he was a single father in 2008 when Kit was 2, so by calculations I would think they’ve only been together for 4 years, not THAT long. Especially as all three kids are his from surrogacy.

thank goodness, someone else read that article too! i had no idea where it was from but, i kept on telling my friends, those are matty’s step kids (though you can totally see how much love he has for them and vice versa) i read it somewhere on the internet.
i usually don’t lust for married celebs, least i try to show some restraint, but this man is perfect. he also seems like a real sweet and genuine person~ sir, do you have a straight single identical twin?

That makes sense. I was just thinking that Matt seems a little young to have been in a relationship for a while then adopted/had a surrogate and for the kid to be that old (Kit seems btwn 5 and 10 but closer to 10).

I used to mistake Henry Cavill for him — Cavill looks like an overtanned-on-steroids version of Bomer.
I think he should have been chosen to play Superman…but I guess studios will never take the risk and hire an openly gay man to play a superhero. Too bad, because I’d totally watch the movie if he was starring it.

You know what. They’re a normal loving family & both parents happen to be men. I look at these and think, so what? I’d still buy a ticket to see him in a movie, could care less if he’s playing gay or straight. If a straight actor can play a gay character why not the reverse? The openness and casualness in these photos make sexuality irrelevant. No big deal.. to me anyway.

That’s what I was saying. I’d totally watch Superman if Bomer was the actor playing the main character. There’s more of a “Christopher Reeve vibe” to him than to Cavill. And he (Bomer) is a better actor.
Also, there have been many gay men playing straight characters out there for as long as there is cinema itself. We just don’t know who they are (because they’ve been probably playing the straight character in real life as well).
Some people’s homophobia really puzzles me sometimes: they have no idea that they’re watching a gay man convincingly playing a straight character (on screen), they watch him and love him for his acting. But the moment he comes out of the closet, suddenly he isn’t convincing anymore? That baffles me.

Wow, i really never saw the Henry Cavill resemblance before, but you’re right.
I disagree that Bomer is necessarily a better actor, but I do agree that while he looks like Cavill, Bomer has more of that All-American Prince look that Reeve had, which would make him a better Superman. I actually adore Henry Cavill but a) he was way cuter before he got all jacked up to be Supe and b) he’s English FFS, and he looks it.
As for gay actors, I have zero problem with them playing leading roles as straight dudes. Let’s be honest here: I don’t have a shot with Matt Bomer, and it ain’t cause he’s gay!

I’d love that to be true, Katija. But I’m skeptical…I think girls here on Celebitchy are more open minded than many others posting elsewhere (I think we’re in the minority, I mean).
For instance, there was a thread on IMDb a while ago where a girl (I assumed it was a girl) asked if a fictional character — that’s right: a fictional character (McMannus, played by Stephen Baldwin in the Usual Suspects) — “was gay with” another character (Fenster, played by Benicio Del Toro) in the movie because…she “liked the character very much and didn’t want him to be gay”. Sure, she got her ass owned by multiple posters there, but it reminded me that that dimwit was also a moviegoer and that there are other stupid people just like her.
Let me see if I can find the thread (it could have been reported and deleted).
