Reese Witherspoon wants chicken coop for Xmas & a man to build it

Reese Witherspoon has a movie coming out all about the season of love and giving, titled Four Christmases, although here in Australia it’s titled Four Holidays, which is truly odd as we don’t say ‘holidays’ here at all. In the rounds of publicity she is doing for the film she was asked a rather obvious question, what gift would she like, and gave what I find to be the oddest answer.

“Oh, I want someone to build me a good chicken coop … like a man who can just get down there and build it … ooh,” the actress, who dates Jake Gyllenhaal, tells USA Today.

Witherspoon, who stars in the upcoming comedy Four Christmases with Vince Vaughn, says Christmas at her house this year will offer a chance to feast on her southern specialities – turnip greens, pecan-coated sweet potatoes and sugar-baked ham – and escape to the family farm outside of Los Angeles with kids Ava, 9, and Deacon, 5.

“We feed the chickens and the pigs – I have two pigs, and boy are they really pigs. They just get down in that mud and roll around,” she says. “I like getting down in there and working in the garden.”

People

Is this the final answer on what to buy those people who have everything? Forget socks, chocolates and gift cards for those hard to buy for friends, instead just get them a chicken coop. Chickens optional.

Reese’s new movie Four Christmases looks set to be a cracker, pun intended, with a married couple who are children of divorced remarried parents try to squeeze them all ub for visits on the holidays. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a film dealing with this, and as a child of divorced parents I deal with this every year.

Reese also recently said that she had ‘giant Coke bottle glasses’ as a child and that no one ever picked her for sports. I’m guessing that she grew out of this pretty quickly, since her IMDB page says she started modeling at seven.

    What a creeper..

Naw. Just kidding. My dad’s a lazy individual who’s never done anything handy in his entire adult life, so naturally, my mom was ecstatic when my boyfriend switched out our old drain plug with a new, shiny, pliable one.

I mean, it really made her day.

Maybe that’s what Reece is all hot and bothered over. A handyman, and not so much the chicken coop itself.

LOL, I’m the type to get really excited over something like this. But then I love my garden and all things garden-related. Best Christmas present ever, b/f built me a garden shed from scratch, with shelving and hooks for everything, tracked down 2 old apothecary drawers at auction, stuck a red ribbon on the door, unveiled it on Christmas morning and it’s still one of the most thrilling gifts he’s ever given me! I could so get excited over a chicken coop. Actual chickens would probably send me over the happiness edge! 😀

G, I too think it sounds like a cool present. Her kids must be at that age where they want a lot of animals – and I bet Reese is so OCD that she thinks she needs a chicken coop.

Vince Vaughn deserves to win “The Most Spaztastic” award every year… whether he makes a movie that year or not
