Fan gets too personal with Brad Pitt on Oprah

Here’s a clip from yesterday’s Oprah with fan from Ontario, California asking Brad Pitt about his tattoos and not giving up when he indicates that he doesn’t want to talk about it. She’s especially interested in the tattoo he has on his forearm of the iceman Oetzi, Europe’s oldest natural human mummy. She also mentions that Pitt has a Daniel Pearl quote on his arm, something that is news to me. You can see Pitt get uncomfortable about it and he refuses to explain his tattoos, but he handles it well and laughs a lot.

“Let me just say, if you have a partner it’s great fun, it’s a great thing to do together and it becomes personal and special in its own right. I’d rather just leave it at that.”

The clip above is the only one I can find so far from yesterday’s Oprah that’s embeddable, but the Huffington Post has an extended clip that includes the quotes about his family that were pre-released. There are a couple of cute stories in there that I haven’t heard yet. Brad talks about how he explains the paparazzi to his kids. They reassure them that it’s ok, and say they’re just funny people that like to take pictures. Zahara once said that it’s not ok that photographers follow them though. He also tells a story about how Zahara made him smell dog poop and he told her to go wash her hands. They have two dogs, a bulldog and a “pound” dog, and he doesn’t say if the dogs travel with them.

He also says he thinks the kids work in shifts to keep them up throughout the night and that once they get one to sleep another one will come in wanting to hear a story or wake up in the middle of the night after wetting the bed. It doesn’t sound like it’s easy to have six kids, but he calls it “the thing I’m most proud of… the most interesting, most fulfilling, most rewarding thing I have ever experienced,” says they will “probably” have more, adding “why should I stop?”

    boy he looks beat!

  2. Kristen says:

Yes he does look tired – but with newborn twins I can’t imagine how tired they both are.

  3. xiaoecho says:

Brads Otzi tattoo is the coolest tatt in the world. I wish I had thought of it. Don’t know why he is so coy about them – perhaps if they’re in an unmentionable place but Otzi is on Brads arm.

Loathe the ‘tash – get rid of it
Why are men compelled to grow hair on their face once they hit forty???

  4. Kim says:

He does look done for, dead beat. The moustache is not working either. He seems very uncomfortable and could not look Oprah in the eyes. Angelina also never looks any one in the eyes. My step mother too (though she is now in jail on fraud charges).

Thanks CB for posting these clips, I was talking about this on the other thread with John Voight to share with other fans of the Brangelina circus troupe.

I do feel sorry for him, he looks dumb and when he speaks he does not come off as the brightest person in the house but he seems to genuinely love those kids. At times he looks lost. But he made his bed, let him lie in it.

  5. Goddess711 says:

Hey Brad – what’s that tattoo say – “fidelity”? No? Didn’t think so!
(sorry, Brad and Angelina make me puke. There aren’t enough kids in the world to adopt that would change my opinion of these twotrailer trash in a double-wide, 3’s dressed up as 9’s)

  6. elisha says:

Brad, Brad, Brad. I can tell you why you should stop [having kids].

  7. poopie says:

COME ON !! does anyone really think either one of them actually GETS UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NITE for the twins? give me a HUGE break.. i’m sure they have nannies out the you know…

  8. Trumiko says:

the same reason why women inject themselves with microbes when they hit 30 Xiao, darling.

And he doesn’t look beat, he’s just old, that happens to celebs too you know.. 8)

  9. Ana' says says:

saw the show. I remember somebody commenting on here, before the airing, that the interview with O was rather contemptuous. I believe she was an audience member at this show. I didn’t get that at all. I saw that Brad maybe didn’t care for the “all eyes on me” format, seemed a bit nervous, which is understandable; but I think chicka that reported some supposed underlying animosity was projecting. She kinda assumed that because Oprah is friendly with the ex that she and Brad would have friction. I don’t like O that much, I only tune in for shows like this one, but I will say this, she’s a professional.

  10. xiaoecho says:

Trumiko……….bristly faced men, wax faced women

What’s wrong with wrinkles? They tell the story of a persons life, and give a face its unique character. That is beauty

I must be the luckiest woman alive because my man loves my wrinkles – and knows I don’t want to be kissed all over by a steelo pad

  11. wow says:

He doesn’t seem as cocky as he did when he was with Jennifer Aniston.

  12. Ling says:

Maybe he’s promoting his movie, which is based off an F. Scott Fitzgerald story, by trying to look as much like a Fitzgerald character as humanly possible?

  13. Kim says:

Ling, that is so funny. Maybe you never know. But those Oprah Cameras have to be the best camers in showbiz, look at how good they make Oprah look. Now if Brad is looking dead and beat in them, I wonder what he looks like without make up in real life. He looks like he is about to collapse.

Why does he keep licking his lips? It is very ‘uncool.’ Makes him look even more stupid and he doesn’t need to.

  14. Megan says:

That woman came off as a stalker haha! Brad just seems to be oblivious to the fact that some people know way too much about him and his life.

  15. Bodhi says:

The stache is for a movie. My husband doesn’t really like to talk about his tattoos either.

  16. rabidparadise says:

I watched the whole thing on Oprah and it was one of the most uncomfortable interviews I’ve ever seen. He seemed like he was expecting to be ambushed the entire time. I actually caught myself feeling sorry for him when he said that in New Orleans, they have a ‘semblance of a normal life’ because they can ride bikes and the kids can hang out on the front porch.
Can you imagine having all the money in the world, and not being able to take your kids out for a bike ride?
I’m not a Brangelina fan, he just seemed like a shadow of himself here…

  17. goons says:

six kids and celebrity life put together is just got to be too much for anyone.. if one of them does not have a breakdown soon it will be a miracle..brad looks so beatdown adn anyone who says they enjoy that is just plain crazy.. i wish them luck though…

  18. roller says:

he should lose the stache once he stops shooting the movie, its not doing him any wonders. its sad that he used to be one of the sexiest man alive. now, he looks like a washed up old man.

  19. what is ever. says:

I think the exact same thing rabidparadise, how sad an existence where though you can purchase anything your heart desires, you can’t enjoy the most simple things, like walking down the street, or freaking grocery shopping. Six kids would be insanely draining alone, but worrying about/dealing with the day to day safety with the paps, for as long as he has is enough to make anyone look like the walking dead. Personally, all the money in the world would never be worth the loss of anonymity.

  20. geronimo says:

I’ve just watched that clip. It was fine, relaxed, Pitt was laughing all the way through, the fan was really funny, what the hell are people on about??

And he looks fine from what I saw – although I’ve never thought of him as being particularly attractive, so that might have somethng to do with that. People really need to stop projecting. Wanting him to be miserable is not the same as him actually being miserable. πŸ™„

  21. roller says:

i just watched the interview. its weird how he says “its fun to be with a partner” or something to that effect. is that all he can say about his true love(dare i say)? and he does look uncomfortable. doesnt he find it weird how everyone knows every little detail about him?

  22. Bodhi says:

    I totally agree Geronimo

  23. bataleigh says:

As a heavily tattooed person I can definitely empathize with not wanting to explain every inch of ink you have. Believe it or not, most of use don’t get our ink for public consumption and in fact it can be quite personal. I think he handled it very well. I know I’ve growled at more than one person for pushing the tattoo questions a little too far and I’m quite the opposite of a paparazzi-bombarded celebrity.

  24. Val says:

Which Oprah interview were you guys watching!
That was one of the most genuine interviews he has ever done!

Goodness some of you criticize everything! The mustache is for the movie he is filming in Germany folks.

He genuinely loves his family.. and eventhough they are hands on, I doubt it that they are going around pulling their hairs out. They have all the money in the world so they do not have to handle the mundane tasks of laundry, this that and the other.

All they have to do is be there for their children. Please we should worry more about Jon and Kate plus 8 and that family with 18 kids!

His mature look is of fatherhood and responsibility, normal I Dare say! It only shows that he is being a hands on dad! Stop looking for things that are not there!!!

  25. Kaiser says:

    Agree G.

The hate, bitterness and general insanity on these threads is really starting to bother me. I’m taking a day off. Keep it real, BADettes and have a good day!

  26. vdantev says:

Attention Fans: You are entitled to exactly NOTHING OF A PERSONAL NATURE from these people. Thank you.

  27. Nice moustache says:

What is he up to these days – playing Clark Gable?

  28. WTF?!?! says:

He looks like Charlie Chaplin. Didn’t they already make that biopic?

  29. geronimo says:

Kaiser & Bodhi – What I do now is march in, read the article, watch the clip, ignore the shite, post my comment, and then I’m off. Higher ground. It’s the only way.

  30. Anastasia Beaverhausen says:

Wow, people here are harsh. I think he looks like a basically good looking guy in his 40s and I was never a Brad Swooner, either. The moustache appears to be for a movie. Remember the time when he was with Aniston that he had some sort of beard that was so long he braided it? That was for a movie too. Those crazy actors, they sometimes have to do stuff like that. πŸ™„

  31. FUG says:

The interview was fine. Pitt love his kids and Angelina. The only awkward moment is when the fans started asking about his tatoos. Haters like to see bad thing about the interview when there’s none. Brad don’t have to shout his love for Angie nobody knows it better than Angelina Jolie. Why do you think Angelina changed her mind about having bio babies, it’s because brad love her unconditionaly , no if’s or but just sort a “U & Me” against the world thing.

  32. prissa says:

He does look worn out. It might be because of the kids, but I doubt it. Like many stated, they’re parents but they are not bogged down with the mundane aspects. While I did find Brad attractive, he has always had bad, pock-marked skin. Evidently this is the end result (and will probably get worse).

  33. keltilass says:

I have to LOL at some of these posts.

Of course Brad and Angelina look worn out. They lead very busy lives and have 6 little ones. I cringe every time I see pics of myself when my 5 stair steppers were all little and I did it in my 20s!

Now I have 7 little grand babies and I don’t have to deal with the “mundane aspects”, but they still manage to wear me out! If you are trying to enjoy every minute you can (which they seem to be doing)it takes its toll. Worth every minute of it too. πŸ˜›

  34. monica says:

he looks terrible. he has aged so fast in such a short time.
i thought he looked uncomfortable throughout the interview too and stressed.

  35. HallieB says:

LOL. I saw the whole interview. Brad was relaxed and smiling and happy and he and O clearly like one another. O disclosed that she had socialized with him in France before the twins were born and that he had 2 cellphones, a beeper and more and he told the group he had to be back at the hospital by 7 at nite where he basically camped out for 3 weeks as he said “we” had a cesarean the 1st time and Angie was on bed rest for the twins. O said Brad looked happier than ever before and he agreed with her assessment. He described Angie (his name for Angelina) in glowing terms especially when discussing the W photoshoot. The man is in deep love with Angie and their kids and some of you appear to be in deep denial of this plain face truth. The facial stuff and hairstyle is for his QT film he is presently working on in Berlin. Brad finally looks like a man these days, not botoxed like many, not an overtanned overprocessed Ken doll anymore, he is 44 and not hiding it as some vainly attempt to do. He radiated his joy and life satisfaction talking about his family, his Angie and their kids, they are so clearly hands on parents who love their kids. So sad but so true that some people insist on seeing what they have predetermined they will see, rather than seeing what is reality. I hope this is due to being of a young age and lacking life experience. Because any adult with any intelligence knows that life is a fluid journey that does not travel a straight line, but meanders here and there, and definitely is what it is supposed to be. Judge not lest ye be judged are wise words that should be adhered to by all.

  36. Christina says:

jeez, what a jerk… could he have possibly made the girl feel any more awkward?

  37. jai says:

    He’s not aging well…Karma maybe

  38. ff says:

Team Zahara. Hope she keeps her humour and forthrightness intact as she grows older.

  39. PJ says:

Geronimo, I think there are 2 different conversations going on about the two different clips. In the one on Huffington Post, he’s more serious, talking about the children.

In the one on CB, he’s laughing but seems a bit uncomfortable with the fan’s questions about the tattoos. Sounds like he may not be aware how much people know about him. It must be weird!

  40. Mairead says:

ff – Kaiser will send you on the forms to join the LegionZ (ok – the name is a work in progress) ready to serve under Queen Z when she becomes Empress πŸ˜‰

I just watched the Huffinton Post clip and those kids are a hoot. I don’t know what some of you mean by he looked uncomfortable and wasn’t making eye-contact with Oprah; he was addressing the audience. He didn’t seem that awkward to me and is about as engaging as I’ve ever seen the man.

It’s interesting to see what the audience insider that those Boots bloggers had got wrong. “Dare I say” is quite different from “I dare say”. He was responding to Oprah’s observation that she’s never seen him so happy and his response meant that he agreed in a very diplomatic way.

Oh and Celebitchy, could I request that a definition of Karma be included in the terms & conditions? I know it sounds pissy but whatever about Syko and Kaiser, if I have to explain it much more I’ll cry. I mean, the sum total of Brad’s past lives are now being held responsible for 44-year-old wrinkles! Kthanxbai πŸ˜€

  41. susan says:

    HalleB –

1.) What glowing terms did he use? I didn’t hear them. Please tell the words he used. Did he call her his angel like he did Gwen?

2.) Did Brad actually state that he was ddeply in love with his wife (partner). I missed this part.

3.) Brad didn’t actually agree with Oprah stating that he was the happiest -in fact he hestitated and then stated “Dare I say”.

4.) Funny if he was camping out how he managed to visit with Oprah and look after the children (think that his visit with Oprah he had all four kids with him?). Remember they have hardly any help and no nannies at night.

I realize that you are desperate to prove that Brad loves Angie more than he ever loved anybody else in his whole life. But trying to figure this out by pretending that he was so happy and in love in this interview doesn’t really wash. He was nervous, he moved alot, he was embarassed about his tattoos ( I really don’t know why), he didn’t answer questions directly. How about Yes, I am the happiest I have ever been. You fans are grasping at straws.

  42. geronimo says:

@PJ – I know! I didn’t find the tattoo conversation in the least bit uncomfortable, Pitt was laughing along with O and the audience AND the fan in the way you do when you’re caught by surprise ie. when a complete stranger knows so much about you! It was funny and relaxed and not in the least bit awkward for anyone. I didn’t see the full interview but plain old logic, backed up by other objective posts on here, tell me the rest of it went equally well, despite what some of the more subjective comments on here would have people believe…..

  43. monica says:

i think the most telling is when that fan said that it was nice that he found love with angelina and the camera cut to his face, not even a smile. he looked pensive. but with angelina, when she is asked about brad or talks about brad, it’s like she can’t help but smile, she can’t contain her love. but with him, it was like…nothing, except when he is talking about the kids. then he can’t help himself.
just my opinion, flame away but think about it when you are asked baout someone you are crazy in love with- i can’t help but stop my mouth from moving into a smile.

  44. Cheyenne says:

Okay, we get it. The Aniston fans think Brad looked “old”, “tired”, “haggard” or whatever. They don’t want to believe he looked happy because they think he has no right to be happy after he dumped Aniston for Angelina.

Well, I saw the interview in full and I was impressed with how engaged he was. He seemed to be enjoying the interview, had no problem answering any questions, obviously relished relating anecdotes about the kids, and mentioned Angelina as being “the grace that holds the family together”. He didn’t have to gush about her. Just the look on his face when he said that, said it all.

Watching and listening to him in that interview, it was like Aniston never existed.

  45. Mairead says:

    Susan, Oprah’s words were:

*“the funniest thing is, you seem happier than you’ve ever been”
*Brad shrugged, smiled and said “I dare say” (and yes it does mean something different to “dare I say”, which is usually said in question form)
Oprah then jokingly says “I dare see”, which I’m taking so mean that she hasn’t seen him that happy.
(it’s at 4.09 on the Huffington Post video – I can’t see the one here for some reason)

And on the visiting friends in France bit, didn’t you hear where Oprah quoted him “we were doing something earlier in the day and you said so long as I’m back at the hospital by 7 o’clock” – maybe it’s just the straws I’m desperately grasping at, but I took that to mean 7pm and not 7am?

  46. Kristin says:

He seems like a douche. If you don’t want people to ask about your tattoos, then why let everyone see them? Why not cover them up when you are going out?

Plus, I hope he doesn’t get one with Angie’s name on it. Once you get a tat with someone else’s name on it, that’s it.

  47. Bodhi says:

If you don’t want people to ask about your tattoos, then why let everyone see them? Why not cover them up when you are going out?

Tattooed people shouldn’d have to cover up their ink if they don’t want to. Sometimes people just don’t want to talk about them. And other people should respect that

  48. JaundiceMachine says:

I can’t speak for anyone else here, but I know that I get my tattoos for MYSELF – not to impress other people. And since my tattoos are MINE and meant for ME, I don’t feel the need to explain them to everyone who happens to notice them.

It’s an invasion of privacy – just because something is highly visible doesn’t mean it’s not deeply personal.

  49. DD says:

its up to the person with the tattoo, if the meaning is personal to them, then don’t be offended if they politely refuse to tell you. It’s art, you can make your own interpretations πŸ™‚

  50. whatevs says:

I’m by no means a Brad Pitt fan. I admit, when I was in the 7th grade I was borderline obsessed after seeing ‘Interview With The Vampire’. I carried a picture of him in my wallet and had a ‘Seven’ shirt with his face on it that I would sleep with. But I was like 13 years old and by the time he married Jen I was over it. And by the time he divorced her I was even more over it, unlike some of you on here.

It’s getting really ridiculous and super annoying with the Karma talk and the tired insults. Seriously, I think some of you on here expect way too much from someone who owes you nothing. Grow the fu*k up, these people aren’t your enemies and they sure as hell aren’t your friends, no need to defend or attack anyone. But that’s just my two cents.

  51. walter jones says:

He has the moustache for the part he’s playing in Tarantino’s newest film.

  52. Shane says:

Brad was nervous because he was being interviewed by Oprah, who is dear friends with his ex-wife.

    It’s that simple.

  53. Cheyenne says:

I doubt she’s “dear friends” with his ex-wife any longer after that show yesterday. She was lukewarm at best about pushing Aniston’s movie last week, but she was flogging Brad and Cate’s movie for all she was worth. I got the impression watching Oprah last night that she regretted having backed a losing side four years ago.

  54. scotchy says:

    tattoo’s are personal
and when someone says they don’t really want to talk about it in a pretty nice fashion.. and you still insist on talking about it.. you deserve to be told i said no change the subject fan or no fan..
    that’s just freaky..fame is freaky

  55. drm says:

Are some of you certifiably insane??? He looks FINE. The guys 46, he’s got KIDS, he’s HUMAN! It was a perfectly friendly normal interview…

    Strewth…

  56. James says:

I am sorry I didn’t read the post. The only reason I want to click into this post is because I have this urge to leave a word, one particular word, when I saw Mr Pitt’s photo: LOSER.

  57. Kim says:

He looks like that pregnant man, but with a blotched face.

  58. Kristen says:

    Cheyenne _

I am with you on this one. I think he looked very handsome. And Angelina and the kids are obviously the loves of his life. I know that must hurt some Jen fans – but it is what it is.

As for the tattoo comment by Kristin – I have 5 tats so my motto is if you don’t like them – don’t look at them. And I think he had all the right to say that they are personal and would rather leave it at that. Just because he’s an actor – doesn’t mean we have the right to know everything little thing about him.

I loved the interview and thought he was very charming. He always is!

  59. browndog says:

I just found this site..very fun, but I am so “filled up” on Brangelina..I think they’re both really physically attractive people, but the whole gaggle of kids thing is unnerving to me.
    whats the hurry?
I am an adoptive parent, and I personally think the whole kids from every country thing comes off a little “I am a collector” and gimmicky.

No, I don’t know them, but they do have a big platform AND they use it. It goes both ways.

  60. T*L says:

According to Wikipedia…”the Iceman Γ–tzi had approximately 57 carbon tattoos consisting of simple dots and lines on his lower spine, behind his left knee, and on his right ankle. Using X-rays, it was determined that the Iceman may have had arthritis in these joints. It has been speculated that they may be related to acupuncture.”

This could account for the odd tattoos of lines that Brad has on his lower back… just a thought

  61. sharon says:

you girls are something! There are no bad pictures of Brad. Keep his schedule and let me see what you look like?
As for Brad there is only good & better . Maybe Brad needs the hair for a movie??? Love ya Brad and love Tattoos
    ❓

  62. Dominick J. says:

Brad looked great. Sheeesh I never read so many bitchy stupid comments. So you don’t like the guy that’s your problem. AND why did you ever come to this site anyway? Just to show your stupidity? Grow up.

  63. Bella says:

Um.. do they have Movember in the States? Maybe that is why he has a Mo? To help raise money for prostate cancer?

  64. vdantev says:

    😯 UH???

  65. Mairead says:

Don’t look at me V – I’m just as flummoxed as you πŸ˜‰

Unless… Bella is saying Mo is short for moustache and that Movember is a combination of moustache and november, which is something to do with moustaches and prostate cancer?

It’d be a good guess, but as has been said repeatedly – the moustache is for a film part, being shot in Germany. πŸ˜‰

  66. CB Rawks says:

Is he playing Hitler, opposite Tom Cruise?

  67. FATUNDERSTANINCHIK says:

Come on people do you think a 46 year old man cares about what the rest of you think? He’s old enough to be most of you people’s father so please on that part of him being the former sexiest man alive. At 46 you just know what you want and what you want to do. Friggin FRICK WHAT anybody thinks. He just wants yall to watch his movies so he can continue to create sons and daughters outta thin air and raise them. lol!

  68. vdantev says:

@FATUNDERSTA I hate it when school gets out for the holidays.

  69. rachel drake says:

man he looks hot in that jacket if he would take that shirt off like he did in troy wow

  70. josh says:

Well I need to tell you all that he is a dope head and has been since his days with Juliette lewis – he is off the planet – Ange seems to have him on the rails.
remember he is in his 40s so he won’t age well and isn’t.
