Beyonce: “Yes I had a baby. It just made me more grounded and more like you”

Beyonce began her four-date New Jersey concert series this weekend, her first concerts since giving birth (!) to Blue Ivy in January. We don’t have agency photos from the concert, unfortunately, but you can see some photos here and here. I’m including some photos from Beyonce’s Tumblr, all of which I think are actually from the concert. Beyonce wore custom-made costumes by Ralph & Russo and the costumes used “500,000 Swarovski Elements crystals.” Jay-Z was there of course, and he tweeted, “I’m gonna say this and then I’m gonna end mine. BEYONCE is the best performer in the world. Period.” Aw… that’s really cute. Michelle Obama took her daughters to the concert, and Beyonce had some stuff to say about losing her pregnancy weight. Cough.

New mom Beyonce, who gave birth to daughter Blue Ivy in January, knew there was no time to waste in slimming down as the May dates for her four-concert weekend in Atlantic City, NJ approached. Especially when the star would be squeezing her bod into custom-made Ralph & Russo designs, including a midriff-baring, fringed two-piece adorned with Swarovski crystals.

“Y’all have no idea how hard I worked!” the 30-year-old exclaimed to her fans during her concert at Revel Beach’s Ovation Hall Saturday night. “I had to lose 60 pounds. They had me on that treadmill. I ate lettuce!”

And now that the superstar is halfway through her much-anticipated, post-baby concert return, she’s celebrating.

“Now tonight I’m gonna get chocolate wasted!” Jay-Z’s wife told her fans.

Saturday’s show proved to be quite the star-studded event: Michella Obama and her daughters Malia, 13, and Sasha, 10, were in attendance. (Back in April, Beyonce wrote a heartfelt, public letter to the First Lady in which she thanked her for being a “true, strong African American woman.”)

“They sat up in a private balcony with Gayle King. Michelle was jamming out to ‘Crazy in Love,'” a concertgoer tells Us Weekly. “When Beyonce told the crowd to get up and jump, [Malia and Sasha] stood and started dancing and jumping. They were shouting when Beyonce asked, ‘Do girls run the world?'”

“Together, all three of them did the ‘Single Ladies’ dance moves,” the concertgoer adds.

[From Us Weekly]

I feel like we’ve heard several different figures for how much weight Beyonce gained during her pregnancy, right? And none of those figures was “60 pounds”.

In additional to all of that, Beyonce has also given us two videos all about her preparations for these concerts. Beyonce put the videos up on her site (here). They’re full of Beyonce goodness, including her statement: “What I’m trying to say in the show is, ‘Yes I had a baby. It just made me more grounded and more like you.’” For real. Also: Beyonce looks so amazing without makeup.

She will never be anything like “you”. Beyonce always has an agenda with her videos. Of course she was going to come back five months after having BIC. She wants to be seen as the greatest performer of all time against all costs.

    • RocketMerry says:

Amen. Of course she has an agenda. She just told us herself: “What I’m trying to say in the show is, ‘Yes I had a baby. It just made me more grounded and more like you.’”

All of this, all the videos, all the pictures, all the interviews…all to convey this very thought: “I was pregnant. I am grounded. I am like you.” I’m not surprised anymore that she’s friends with Goop: she talks about the public as if we’re peasants, crawling in the mud with saliva dripping down our chins and unintelligent expressions on our faces!

I guess I always knew she was sort of fake; I just never thought I would actually get the feeling that her buying a baby would be for press and PR agenda. Sick.

      • FeverDream says:

        I used to love Beyonce.

        She’s a Virgo, I thought I “got” her.

But the way that she has behaved in terms of this “pregnancy” and baby which she seems to pawn off on nannies when she’s not doing photo ops in Central Park has just made me sick of her.

      • Clara says:

+1 I’ve gone right off her after preggersgate.
However the bit about Michelle and her daughters dancing is really cute.
And as of now, I am stealing the phrase ‘chocolate wasted’.

    • Hipocrisy says:

She is a very beautiful woman and i like her work ethic but she is full of it with her lack of humility, her stealing of other people’s work, her musical laziness following what’s in to stay in the lilmelight….

  2. Halo says:

Between faking a pregnancy, stealing other artists’ lyrics and coreographies she still finds time to be just like us poor people.

    • cupidtyrox says:

      LOL!
Give it up for Beyonce! She really is the greatest performer/artiste/wife/mother/woman who has ever lived
      *eyeroll*

    • su says:

There is enough proof that she did not fake her pregnancy for me to believe you jut enjoy being obtuse. When other celeb snap back into shape there are no questions whether they were pregnant to begin with!

      • Liv says:

It’s not that she got her shape back so fast after pregnancy (these celebs are crazy) – it’s that she was in shape 1 day before giving birth!

  3. 2Park5 says:

this wants people to believe that it’s 30 she looks older than Vanessa Williams and Vanessa is at least 50

  4. maria says:

I just don’t get how a fairly intelligent person can leave such a young baby so soon. I don’t mean the concerts per se, I mean the hours of rehearsals it all takes. There are many important neurological things that happen in a small infant’s brain at that young age … it’s just not a positive thing. Yes, for some people it’s unavoidable, but not for her. If Blue was a bit older…I think it is selfish and ridiculous. just my opinion …but Beyonce can never get those hours away back. One would think she would want to do EVERYTHING for the well being of her baby, NOT to please her fans.

    • H says:

It’s her job and she’s always been a self described work-alcoholic.

    • Werty says:

Thats just insulting, i dont like B, but she problably had her baby with her during her reherseal (sp?)

Can we please stop shaming women for wanting to work, and if you insist on doing that, attack the father aswell.

Wasnt Jay Z going to parties (thats “work” for him) right after BIC was born?
Shame him too, Its called equality

      /End of feminist rant

    • samira677 says:

How ridiculous and old fashioned to claim that good mothers stay home after having children. Frankly Beyonce and most celebrities probably spend more time with their kids than non-celebrities since they don’t work everyday and can bring their kids when they do work.

    • Bubbling says:

I am with @Maria. good for you workaholic grinding moms and women out there, it’s just my opinion that baby must have mommy time, that’s all

    • NM6804 says:

There is some truth in what you wrote. However, a child who suffers from neglect and abuse will have an impact on the growth and “strength” of the synapses. As long as there are adults who provide care and assistance, the baby will be just fine. Besides, carers don’t work 24/7. After work, there is still 16 hours of attention to give the child when just a wee baby and 8 hours when older. It’s almost impossible in this economy for one or both parents to stay at home. Would you rather be poor and be unable to feed and clothe the baby? It’s all about balance and that’s for the carers to figure out. Note how I not put all the care on the female carer *sideye to your other comment*

In Beyoncé’s case, I will say they (she and Jay) seem to be wanting this baby so bad and I expected them to chill out because they can. They are already one of the richest couples in showbusiness because of their years and years of continuous hard work. For them to take a break for a year wouldn’t be damaging to their career. It must be easier to wear blue all the time and talk about change and growth (while having a team to do the dirty work for you just like US right :)) and then get back into the same work ethic pre-baby while still pretending it’s not about me, me, me and money, money, money. Beyoncé’s work isn’t from 9-5, her other documentaries/interviews proved one thing: this woman works until it’s done. Not sure how parenting would fit in that crazy tiring schedule. Even if you would come home, you go straight to bed.

    • normades says:

I don’t think Maria is saying women who work aren’t good mothers.

Being a SAHM doesn’t mean you’re a doormat and being a working mom doesn’t mean you’re a feminist. We need to get over that.

I think what Maria is saying is that if you had tons of money and had already achieved everything possible in your career, why work when you could spend that time with your baby? It’s a question of priorities and Bey’s priority seems to be “being number 1”.

Babies are only babies once. They really do grow up so fast.

  5. barbi says:

I call bullsh*t on her “I had to lose 60 pounds!” comment. No way in hell did she gain 60 (fake) pounds! I have seen, with my own two eyes, women who have gained 60 (real) pounds during pregnacy and she sure isn’t one! She is so full of it I can’t satnd it! 🙁

  6. Lisa says:

Ooh, you ate lettuce, you identify with the common experience. I’m nominating you for the Peace Prize.

  7. celine says:

    gosh i’m m so glad she’s back!
can’t wait for the new album and the new tour!

    u go girl!!!!

  8. kristin says:

When she actually CARRIES a baby and delivers it in a NORMAL sized hospital room, THEN we’ll talk about being “like us.”

    • Sassy says:

Every birthing room I have been in, one in east coast and one in west coast have been like Beyonce’s. They have room for the entire family. And in a normal delivery, this is where the baby is born. This is not the room that the mother stays in after giving birth, which would be a private or semi private room.

      • citizen says:

seriously? I am due to give birth soon in a Manhattan hospital. We took a tour of the labor rooms. There is barely enough room to turn around in there, and the one that we saw was one of the bigger ones!

      • Michelle says:

I agree. I gave birth in a small (Canadien) hospital and had a large birthing room. Had a bathroom with tub, couch and chairs, can have up to 4 support people, etc.

    • su says:

why would she have er baby in a ‘normal’ sized birthing room? If she can afford my space, why not? I sure she was referring to the experience of parenthood more than anything. Would you have a ‘normal’ sized birthing room if you could afford something bigger, or more comfortable?

  9. Tinypie says:

Just because she is a mother does NOT mean she is like me. She would never understand the stress of actually being pregnant, going to school and sacrifcing all things i did before i got pregnant. Babies need stability, she only got “pregant” for publicity. The only time she sees that child is when she uses it for a photo op.

    • OMSS says:

I disagree. She has said in the past that she’d have a baby at 30 and she did. I think her having and wanting a baby was genuine, especially for Jay-Z

    • Gem says:

Wow, Beyonce had a baby for the sake of publicity? How ridiculous. You sound really bitter and sanctimonious. Do you think you are the only woman in the world who has been to school and made sacrifices? Don’t be such a martyr

      • Lboogi says:

So then….. is Beyonce the only woman who’s given birth and gone back to work?

      • Elizabeth says:

Saying B had the baby for publicity may not be so far off. I think she/JZ put a copyright on the kid’s name. And she is going to be putting out baby products, clothes along with her horrid House of Deon (or whatever) “fashion” line. The kid will be a money maker for them. And her career has been stale for years.

      • ZenB!tch says:

Beyonce is not the only woman to have possibly faked a pregnancy and Tinypie is not the only woman who has been pregnant while struggling. End of argument.

Also giving Bey the benefit of the doubt re: her pregnancy – there is no way in hell she gained 60lbs. She was not that tiny to begin with and she never looked like a Simpson – real or otherwise. If she was pregnant she gained maybe 30lbs?

      • jes_sayin says:

True… there’s some very compelling evidence that Nicole and Angelina are pregnancy fakers too.

    • hateonit. says:

agreed. 100% she uses the baby for press just like everything else. she hates not being on the top anymore. I’m telling you her and Kim kardassian will do almost anything for publicity.

    • anonymoose says:

Agreed, tinypie! ooo, out of touch much Bouncy? Hahaha! “It just made me more grounded and more like you.” Her comment acknowledges the steep canyon between the queen she thinks she is and the plebes she thinks we are. She really outta keep her trap shut b/c she’s too dim to say anything that isn’t embarrassing. She is drunk on herself.

[And she looks like a sweaty slutty Phyllis Diller in these pix.. (Sorry, Miss Diller.)]

  10. Newtsgal says:

Right, everything about her screams natural……starting with her fake hair down to her Lee press on nails….You would figure as much money as she has she could afford a nail tech that knows to paint ALL of the nails

  11. serena says:

I admire and respect her but she should stop trowing the ‘I had a baby’ in our faces. And ‘I’m just like you’..Bey please, I don’t swin in diamonds and swarosky.
Oh and 6 nannies, totally normal, of course.

  12. ZazaGirl says:

Why the need to prove you are ‘one of us’? Patronising much.

    • Liv says:

Exactly! What’s wrong with her that she needs to state she’s NOW one of us? Plus do the background dancer have children as well? Don’t get the point! She’s just doing PR, ridiculous!

      • anonymous says:

No one complained when keyshia cole said she was just like you. So freaking what?

  13. Amanda s says:

Fake fake fake, and her ass is still not that great. Better hit the treadmill for a few more hours, haha. Also, shes a bitch for the whole hospital thing. Go away, ur music sux lately!

    • OMSS says:

O_O, Wow… Okay. She looks good to me and I am sure she will get back to her old figure after this tour(?).

As for her last album I have to admit I did not enjoy it. Still, I’m hoping for a new album with music I can really get down to!

  14. palermo says:

I still don’t believe she actually gave birth. Not that that matters, but why the whole farce?

  15. Blue says:

60 pounds, really? There are no pictures of her that i’ve seen does she look like she gained anywhere close to that. Plus in her People interview she said she gained 50. Smh!

  16. Reece says:

Kaiser…you really think she’s on camera WITHOUT makeup??? No, she’s not done up but NO makeup? C’mon!

I’m in too good of a mood this morning to touch the “I’m like you” thing.

  17. She’s nothing like me. My career doesn’t depend on my looks.

  18. hateonit. says:

are you kidding me with this woman? she’s not like us non famous people at all. not even close. and she didn’t gain 60 pounds. she didn’t even have the baby. that poor baby. that she uses and doesn’t properly care for. the bond is just not there. so all this I had the baby thing is bull. I’ve never seen a woman so unattached to her baby. the baby isn’t even one and she’s leaving it home to perform. to prove she’s almighty beyonce. what she needs to do is begone. far away. for a long time. and ride of into the sunset on her camel. she’s getting older. she’s definitely older than what she says she is. I would be ecstatic if ii just had child had millions of dollars a loving husband and a clothes line. and her and Kim kardassian need to be friends. she doesn’t want to cuz she doesn’t want to share the spotlight. only she can be bootylicious and try to be sexy all the time. everyone is beneath beyonce. l honestly think she believes her and Michelle Obama have everything in common. it’s sad i used to be such a big fan. after this pregnancy scam I can’t even hear her name without frowning.

  19. Kimbob says:

I guess it’s wishful thinking on my part, but I really wish Beyonce would STFU and GO AWAY. She is just a fake try-hard, and anymore every time I see a write up about her on here I become nauseated much in the fashion of, “What NOW, Beyonce?”

  20. maria says:

it’s scientifically, and psychologically proven that there are special neural pathways that are developed at a very young age…it’s a very special bonding process that happens with the primary caregiver. If a mother is able to stay with the young baby as long as she is able to, the more emotionally stable the baby will be as they grow. It isn’t great if the mom isn’t into it, but that is the sacrifice one makes for a well rounded, healthy child. Yep, old fashioned is right…but if this wasn’t the case society wouldn’t be such a mess right now. sometimes the most primitive, old fashioned ideology, popular or unpopular, is the backbone of forming a very, well adjusted adult.

    • Bubbling says:

hey maria, me again just co-signing 🙂 have a nice day

    • Werty says:

You mean PARENTS, not just mothers. Its important that both parents are present in their childs life from the beginning.

Again not defending her but Jay Z could also be the kids primary caregiver.
But if they really have 6 nannies, i doubt that neihter of the parents are the primary caregiver.

    • kazoo says:

Uh, this is false. Please provide peer-reviewed journal articles supporting your statement or STFU because the proof doesn’t exist.

      • OMSS says:

        @Kazoo,Co-sign 100%!

      • Lisa Marconi says:

The physiological process is fully functional at birth, but the psycho-social process has to be initiated by maternal behaviour as soon as the baby is born.

  21. RuddyZooKeeper says:

She looks heavier now than she did when she was “pregnant.”

  22. cupidtyrox says:

Maybe she means she means she lost 60 pounds in brain matter?

    • Veruca says:

Considering she’d never lose 60lbs of ego, I’m assume she gave up that much of her soul.

Sorry to be cruel, but that woman screams, “Narcissistic Personality Disorder”. It’s unfortunate that she’s got the fortune & fame to keep feeding the monster. She seems like she’d be a nightmare to know.

    • Hakura says:

…But that would imply that she HAD 60lbs of brain matter to lose, at some point.

    • Floridaseaturtle says:

I believe Sasha was speaking. The 60 lbs lost was the old Beyonce.

  23. Hakura says:

I still want to know what she meant by ‘like you‘. This whole thing feels like:

Beyonce: “See?! I’m not glamorous & flawless ALL the time!! I can be fat & unkempt, like you! Now will you go buy my album? No? Well here, look at my baby (that I totally gave birth to), Blue Ivy! …Shoot. Which nanny did I leave her with, again? *checks watch* It’s after 1, so… Martha. Ah, across town. They forgot her diamond encrusted stroller! Oh well, maybe later. Did I tell you I lost 60 pounds?!

    • Jinx says:

To her if you’re not Beyonce, you’re an ugly peasanty troll.

      • Agnes says:

no wonder her and goop are friends. they both sound unbearably obnoxious. ugh.

    • Hakura says:

Well, I guess when you’ve spent the last 10 yrs being raved about (in music & looks), it’s easy to become a complete narcissist. (*cough* Leann, anyone? *cough*) I’m sure B compares herself with the likes of Michael & Janet Jackson. She wants to be a ‘legend’.

Unlike Leann, Beyonce has become her own successful ‘brand’. Because of this, she is literally big business, & acts as such. Unfortunately that’s sucked out whatever humility she may have once possessed.

Only thing positive I can say is that I think she & Jay-Z seem to do well together (though you know he doesn’t wear the trousers in that arrangement.)

  24. lover says:

She looks weird? What happened fakeyonce? All you have to do is show pics of you heavily preg i promise i won’t think Photoshop. Same hair oops i mean wig, same leotards’ , same open crotch dancing, same same, same for the last 100 years… pls enough already

  25. Dotty says:

    Bitch, please.

  26. Lisa says:

Generally, I don’t buy the “she didn’t really have a baby” stories about celebs. For example, I believe Nicole Kidman gave birth to Sunday Rose, though I know many people don’t believe that.

However … with this one, I am suspicious. I highly doubt that Beyonce gave birth.

    • the original bellaluna says:

I agree with you about Nic – she is a relatively natural skeleton, so I buy that she carried small and it was “all baby.”

But Bey is NOT a naturally small woman. She would been hips and boobs and ass all over the place! And she DEF wouldn’t have been hopping into SUV’s at 9 months pregnant.

      • Hakura says:

And she DEF wouldn’t have been hopping into SUV’s at 9 months pregnant.

Not unless said SUV was taking her to her exclusive first class hospital room, while she was in labor. (Have trouble even saying her name & labor in the same sentence.)

  27. the original bellaluna says:

That weave is nothing short of tragic. And that’s being kind.

Yeah, she became a mom, but she wasn’t pregnant and she is NOTHING like me!

  28. NM6804 says:

She’s nothing like us obviously. Why do stars even bother?

I do like her behind the scenes documentary, she has a crazy work ethic. From the clips I’ve seen however, her show is nothing new, the same composition and dance moves of I Am Tour. Seriously Beyoncé?

  29. Jackie says:

i find every move of hers to be contrived. i don’t think we know the ‘real’ beyonce at all. i don’t even think she knows herself.

she is like a robot created by her father. even when she took a step away from her father, he was replaced by her powerful husband.

she is such an empty vessel with a pretty face.

    • Anoni Mus says:

      This!!

    • kazoo says:

      Perfectly stated.

    • Hakura says:

Didn’t her mother also play a pretty big role throughout her early career also? I think she was always somewhere in the pictures. But now she seems to dedicate most of her time to trying to become Beyonce.

It all speaks of attempting to live her dream through her daughter, which is a ton of pressure on a kid. Beyonce’s dream may have been singing too, but knowing her mother’s dreams are riding on her success on top of her own… Ugh. Could easily see that screwing up someone’s personality later in life.

Kinda seems like a mid-life crisis for her. I think each parent had a different reason for pushing her, but there’s no doubt they had hands in her career.

  30. sup says:

stop milking your having a child situation god she is so insufferably narcissistic. first it was the showing her fake-bump at an award show (who cares? as if the whole world was holding its breath to see whether or not beyowulf was pregnant). then the fuss continued and whoever it was that said “this is only the beginning” in the thread back when she gave birth was right, sadly.

  31. e.non says:

    she’s a fraud.

    • the original bellaluna says:

Word to that! And if she just ate lettuce, ain’t no way she’s nursing. Eating lettuce is like drinking water – no nutritional value other than water.

      • normades says:

This is what I was gonna say. No way she was nursing and just eating salad all the time.

I know on days when I didn’t eat much my milk production was not good. I am all for low carbing, but not when you’re nursing. Nothing like a big plate of pasta to get that forceful let down.

      • Floridaseaturtle says:

Exactly. There is no way she could be nursing on a lettuce diet, unless she wrapped that lettuce around a cheeseburger.

  32. dorothy says:

Yeah, she’s just like us. We all put a pillow under our top and fake a pregnancy. I agree with all of you…there’s nothing genuine about her at all!

  33. sam says:

The show looks like it would be amazing.

  34. weird says:

She and Jay have always been SUPER private, and now these videos and pictures and tumblr?? too Goopy for my taste. Just roll my eyes. She totally worked hard, I get it, however in these times, she couldn’t be more FURTHER away from you and I.

    • Kimlee says:

I agree they were so privet and then after she started to get called out for her BS she become very public about everything trying to gain likeability for butting her privet life public it’s all for PJ.

  35. Jayna says:

Even workout freak Madonna stayed much fuller for many months after giving birth. It didn’t even come right off for her.

  36. Tammylala says:

I am going to step out of the direction of this thread and say something positive. The show looks great.

    • Erin says:

I’m with you! I don’t understand all the negativity. She’s a successful, beautiful entertainer who obviously has loads of fans who adore her.

Plus, the whole baby-gate nonsense has to stop.

      • Jayna says:

I thought it was silly too. I posted farther down why I believe it is a strong possibility now. And I am one of those people that roll my eyes at people posting comments on her thread, thinking get a life, and all those silly Star and In Touch made up stories on Brangelina and Jen. But I might be converted on this one.

    • Hakura says:

This is totally not meant to sound like “I don’t like her, so I’ll put her down, even if it’s not the truth.

..But the show style looks a little too ‘Vegas’ to me… Like something you could go see there, & for much less than she’s probably charging. But that’s just MHO.

  37. Madison says:

Give it a rest Beyonce, you and every other celebrity who has had a baby and likes to think you are just like us, no you ain’t honey, you have nannies 24/7, you have assistants and housekeepers and private jet travel. You Beyonce are like every other wealthy famous celebrity.

  38. BLOGAHOLIC says:

You take a year off for yourself, yet only 5 months for you long awaited baby hmmmmm

    • kristiner says:

Exactly. Baby was a ploy. Just to say she’s a “mom”

She’s not a pet person with a bag and purse sized dog so she got the baby for an accessory.

  39. Heidi says:

    Thumbs down

  40. Agnes says:

she’s totally like me. problems with finding daycare, let alone affordable daycare, problems with money etc. etc. TOTALLY like me. hahaha

  41. Aries says:

She’s fake. Out of touch. And paid someone else to have that baby for her.

I would like her so much more if she just kept it real. . .

  42. Dena says:

I don’t think she should be criticized for having an agenda. Most ambitious women (and men)do.

I don’t think she naturally carried Blue Ivy either. I don’t even think she is particularly maternal, for that matter. I think the age of 30 set in and she wanted to scratch childbirth off of her agenda. DONE. I think her mother Tina will be and probably is primarily responsible for Blue Ivy. End of story.

    • normades says:

Agreed. Having a baby was on her list, and her goal was 30. Done and done!

      • Meow says:

Exactly. Her whole plan is so “perfect”, executed just “perfectly” set to “perfect” timing.

  43. Jordan says:

Beyonce does look amazing without makeup. Yeah, she’ll never be just like us and it’s a pity she doesn’t realize that (must be Gwyneth rubbing off on her). She is an exceptional performer. Plus, she keeps wind machines in business.

  44. eric says:

Bownce is illiterate fruitcake, she should stop with I lost 60 pound lie, when it’s so obvious she was never pregnant in the first place.

  45. eric says:

and check pictures of super skinny Victoria Beckham, if beyonce was really pregnant she would look like a hippo for 2 years. She looks exactly the same as she did during pregnancy.

  46. DanaG says:

Most mothers take time off work to be with their babies. Beyonce doesn’t have to work she chooses too. So much for really wanting a baby. If you really want something enough to fake a pregnancy I would expect her to give up her time in the limelight and actually look after the baby. There is no reason besides wanting to make yet more money and get attention that Beyonce had to go back to work. It’s pathetic. As for being like “us” how condescending is that?

    • Hakura says:

That’s my feeling on this. It’s definitely *not* being sexist or anti-feminist to think a child should have their mother during this stage, if circumstances permit it.

She doesn’t *NEED* to work, she chooses to, even with a *newborn* (not just a ‘baby’, but a newborn) at home. A truly maternal mother would only be away if they had no choice, needing to support herself & child(ren).

Mothers are supposed to bond with the baby during pregnancy. When I was born, my mother wouldn’t let me out of her sight for 5 minutes, let alone rushing back to work .It all just comes across so… distant, with B. But again, just my opinion.

    • normades says:

I agree with both of you ladies. Even dame Goopy took time off.

Seriously, if you didn’t HAVE to work, why go back so soon? She’s already achieved everything a performer can.

Sure you can have more Grammys, more hit records, more succesful concert tours, but your baby is only a baby once and you will never get a second chance at that.

  47. Kelly says:

That’s a really obnoxious comment for her to make. I find myself liking her less and less.

  48. dahlianoir says:

Of course you’re one of us Bey, now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to put my baby pillow to sleep. Punch him hard and put it in the closet. I mean crib.

  49. lucy2 says:

60 lbs? Please! The more “info” she puts out there, the less I believe the whole thing. How strange.
I think she has a gorgeous face and I bet her shows are entertaining for her fans, but I’m finding her more and more obnoxious, especially with “more like you” type comments.

  50. keri says:

Jeez that reeks of condescension. Also, her nails remind me of that fake hand from Dexter that the ice truck killer took(anyone?)

  51. Jayna says:

Okay. I have to admit that I rolled my eyes at conspiracy theories during her pregnancy. But because of the last months of her pregnancy and some of her comments afterwards I now believe it’s a strong possibility when adding everything up that she lied. She has full hips and thighs and a rear. I have never seen anyone with that figure type, my sister included, not put on in that area even if they don’t put on a lot of weight. Bey says she gained 60 pounds? Really? Her face had no change, not even a little fullness difference in the last month. Her lower half of her body didn’t
change even slightly. That last month should have at least showed a change and there she was in tight jeans hopping up into an SUV. Even Reese has a change. Her little rear is noticeably bigger. And the way she jumped up into the SUV sealed it. The look on her face when Katy tried checking out her bump was priceless, grabbing her hand, shifting her hand. If Katy suspected something, that means the rumors weren’t just on gossip blogs.

  52. TG says:

I was suprised in her video documentary when she said that they are working so hard on this and it is a month before the first concert like that is something incredible. One month to prepare for an elaborate concert doesn’t sound like much hard work for me. I would think she would spend months getting fit, getting the routines down, deciding on staging and the costumes, etc. Maybe I just understood wrong. The other thing is she said she stayed up all night preparing if that is the case when is she caring for her baby? That being said I love a good consipracy theory but I think she really was pregnant and I thought all the post-pregnancy photos looked just like a woman recovering from pregnancy and that pic of her in that black bathing suit she looked like a whale. One other thing when these celebs brag about the amount of weight they lost after pregnancy do they think we don’t know that about half is lost in the first week of delivery with zero effort on the mom’s part. I mean the baby itself, the water and who knows what else.

So my post is part rant and part praise of her. I like her songs and think she is beautiful even if she is fake. I would consider going to a concert of hers but not a las vegas style one like she appears to be doing with all the boas and feathers. Boring and been done a million times.

    • Jayna says:

Beyonce is one of the best entertainers I have ever seen. I saw a clip from this show where she was singing a Whitney song mixed with one of hers. Breathtaking. I would love to see this show.

I don’t get the hate on her going back to work. She has the baby around her all the time with the help she can afford as far as bringing the baby with her. I feel she is with her baby a lot. People judging her as not bonding with the baby slays me. No one is in her life 24/7 to make such comments. Of course, I just hate women always judging other women on motherhood unless it’s something blatant.

      • Hakura says:

My comments regarding ‘bonding’ & spending time with the baby were valid based on all the contradictory statements she’s given the last few weeks.

Her child is a newborn, it would definitely be better for her not having to share her (supposedly breast-feeding) mother with endless hours of rehearsals, let alone the effect of traveling to the different venues. Being on tour (& stating she only eats lettuce) doesn’t jive with her claim to be breast-feeding. (Is she able to drop everything to feed Blue?)

If she was even pregnant to begin with, that is.

This is my opinion. The woman puts all this contradictory info out there herself. There’s nothing wrong with pointing it out.

  53. crtb says:

    B1tch pleeeeze!

  54. JustBored says:

Meow, I don’t know anybody that can hide 60lbs. I was having mixed feelings about the pregnancy conspiracy theories but this story is getting stranger by the minute.

    1. In People magazine last month she said she gained 50lbs, now it is 60lbs. She can’t seem to keep that story straight.

    2. At first a lot of people were talking about the fact that not everybody gain a lot of weight during pregnancy, that is true. So it was assumed that she was one of those women. Now she is saying she gained 60 freaking lbs??? HUH???

    3. This woman will stop at nothing in her her quest to appear as if she is perfect. Then want to patronize people by saying she is just like them.

    4. I wonder if she is still sticking to the breast feeding story now that she has spoken about her all lettuce diet.

    Ridiculous!

    • crazycatlady says:

      All very good points.

If she gained 50 or 60 lbs, then Jessica Simpson would have had to have gained 120! She was 3x bigger than Beyonce while preggers.

    • Hakura says:

I think Jessica was 3x bigger than anyone. I’m surprised the moon didn’t change orbit. xD (I don’t mean fat, BTW, just her baby belly).

  55. annaloo. says:

People who like Beyonce are myopic and probably get all their entertainment spoon fed to them.

She is mediocre at best, but who can blame the woman for capitalizing on it all the way to the bank? She is a miracle thanks to marketing.

There are much more captivating and innovative performers out there, and in no way could this woman categorize herself as an artist for all the ripping off/inspiration-claiming she does.

Liking Beyonce is like drinking White Zinfandel from Yellowtail in a bar that offers 18 year single malt scotches, Anejo Tequilas and beautiful French wines from vintages like 2003 and 1997. Simple taste, mass distribution, nothing special or unique, but it’s highly consumable.

    • crazycatlady says:

Amen to that (said the atheist).

Like nearly all the music stars of today, she is mostly fabrication, with a little talent and a willingness to work hard at being fabricated.

And “Most Beautiful Woman In The World?” Please. Someone had to have paid someone for that label.

    • Anna says:

Exactly…It is the same yelling in every song, the same rhythms, the same incessant, repetitive drilling…This is mass market, assembly line music for an increasingly, and dreadfully, indiscriminate public with little taste and even less brains. When I listen to the lyrics of, say, a Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin (talking about great “pop” stars) it is as if Shakespeare is being sung out loud. Not this…not this..

  56. cee says:

I was slightly offended by the “More like you” comments she made. WTF does that mean? She is like us in a way, we bleed the same, we’re both human beings. Is she trying to say, well because i’m rich and famous I am nothing like you people? IDK but that’s the vibe I got from her comment. The only way she isn’t like is is, most human beings wouldn’t betray someone, and constantly lie to people they claim to care about. Most “normal people” can’t afford 6 nannies, and private jets jetting them off to private islands. That’s what I believe makes us better than her and all of the people who think the way she does. We do not need private jets, nannies, riches, and all the glittery things in life to make us happy and feel loved and glamorous. We don’t have to look down on those who don’t have 300 million stashed away in the bank. Money does not make a person Beyonce, morals, respect for others and oneself does.

    Ok…rant over

  57. annaloo. says:

Her name should be “BeYARNce” because she certainly spins them!

  58. anya says:

So Bey should sit at home and give up her career cos she’s a mom now? What decade are we living in? She’s had a baby and she’s still working- get over it! Whatever music you’re in to, it’s hard to deny that she’s a great performer.

  59. F5 says:

hope this fake fatazz falls off the stage.. better yet, Earth

  60. Aubra says:

What bugs me most about her and artists like her, is how they refuse to know their place. She’s a GREAT performer and you can see this is in her blood, so I won’t give her too much static for her “break” like she REALLY took significant time away, when she really didn’t! But she’s refusing to stay in her lane as a music artist and keeps trying to act, I REALLY wish she wouldn’t. No amount of acting coaching is going to help her. I REALLY think she was just talking loosley that one time when she was saying in an interview how she wants to win an Oscar and a Tony to go with her Grammys. She stays playing singers, and once she’s no longer belting out, we’re subjected to her terrible acting. It’s bad enough they’re remaking “A Star is born”…but I REALLY get what Nia long was saying when she was talking about how it’s not fair to the profession of acting that popularity alone seems to get parts for singers who don’t seem to prepare well not just for a role, but the profession itself…

    • cee says:

I agree w/ you. Her acting is horrendous, Her former band-mate, Michelle Williams is a LOT better, I know this, because I have seen her act, and she knocks it out of the park as a natural. she is amazing as a Broadway star(which Beyonce too wanted to do, a big pleaaase to that smh)so idk WHY these execs keep giving this acting gigs to beyonce’s no acting behind, and not truly gifted people who can actually act and have a passion for the craft.

      • Hakura says:

I believe it’s all about publicity. Including Beyonce would be a major draw to the fans of her music (& music videos). It would catch the world’s attention.

Publicity way too good to pass up, even if it means forsaking those will real acting talent in the process.

I.. Didn’t think she did that badly in the Austin Powers movie, personally.

  61. Carla says:

60 pounds? She looks bigger now than she did at 9 months! Im sorry Ican’t, I just can’t..

  62. jaye says:

Still with the pregnancy conspiracy theories? STILL??

  63. riri says:

She looks exactly like she looked before and during the “pregnancy” (minus the pillow/bump)

What does she mean by “like you”?
Isn’t she a human like us?

  64. SmartGirlsAlwaysWinInTheEnd says:

Reviewed by the BabyCenter Medical Advisory Board:

“As a general guideline, most women who are breastfeeding will need about 200 to 500 calories more than moms who aren’t – which would mean a minimum of 2,000 to 2,700 calories per day…

…And don’t even think about trying to lose weight by dieting until TWO MONTHS after your baby is born. A reduced-calorie diet in the first couple of months could zap your energy and HURT your milk supply.

Most women can safely lose 1.5 pounds per week by combining a healthy diet with moderate exercise. LOSING WEIGHT MORE RAPIDLY THAN THIS CAN POSE A DANGER TO YOUR BABY BECAUSE RAPID WEIGHT LOSS RELEASES TOXINS THAT ARE NORMALLY STORED IN YOUR BODY FAT INTO THE BLOODSTREAM-AND INTO YOUR MILK.

A sudden, large drop in your calorie intake can affect your milk supply – so don’t do any one-day diets for quick weight loss! If you’re losing more than 1.5 pounds a week after the first six weeks, you need to take in more calories.”

  65. Anna says:

If you still believe BeyOnce gave birth, then you are living in d’Nile. Those videos and photos are unmistakable proof.

If a public couple wants to be private about the circumstance of a surrogate mom/adoption/etc., then more power to them.

But Beyonce is rubbing her LIE in our faces. This disgusts me. She can’t just stop with the whole charade of the birth. Now she is promoting how well she RECOVERED from the birthing she never had! It’s not about the baby at all. Pathetic and disgusting. And I cannot STAND that michelle obama has fallen for the whole bloody business.

    • sup says:

i used to dismiss the pillow baby theories as nonsense but then i watched the wendy williams program and now i have to say i agree. not only did she eliminate any doubts on how a pregnant lady, that far, would take a seat (she wouldn’t bend over like beyowulf did and the belly certainly wouldn’t cave in) but also she said that thing about the pregnant bikini photo and i have to say if she was really pregnant there, her ribs wouldn’t stick out like they did that supposed photographic evidence is just dumb. and all the measures they took to protect their surrogate at the hospital. i mean after all the rumours, two giant famehoes like beyo and jay-z would definitely invite the press, or at least sell their professional photoshoots. this is beyond stupid. she and nicole kidman need to come clean. it’s not wrong to use a surrogate.

  66. Dubbie says:

Haha, I couldn’t be offended by her comments. I’m just proud that I’ve never bought a single song of hers, and have only bought LeToya’s, Michelle’s, and Kelly’s. I just can’t support such a narcissistic snob. It’s annoying in real life, and it’s annoying with celebrities.

She’s protesting too much. She’s unraveling her own story.

  67. Bunny says:

Beyonce, you got enough f’ing money! Go away, retire and be a mom! Do something else other than wearing those same sequin suits and churning out generic music! Damn, Shakira wannabe.

Man, I’m so glad I don’t listen to the music that is out these days.

  68. Ashley says:

*correction I meant to say (17) Grammys ,she got one this year, for best r&b album of the year for 4

  69. T..E. says:

II dont think celebrities have the same viewpoint on what a diabolical pr stunt is the way us non celebrities view it. I honestly think that Beyonce believes that she is normal like us socalled “regular folks”. She really doesntget what all the fuss is about
