The UK Glamour Magazine Women of Year Awards were held last night in London, and it was a surprisingly A-list event. I mean, it wasn’t the Oscars or anything, but they got a better, more international turnout than the BAFTAs over the weekend. If you’d like to read more about who was nominated for what and who won, go here. I’ll just be covering the fashion. Let’s begin with Lea Michele in Zac Posen. I’ve said this before, but I really like Lea in blue. Her coloring really works well in shades of blue. I have no problem with the color, or the style really. It’s a lovely gown and Lea works it. My only problem is that Lea seems a tad overdressed for a UK magazine gala. Many women wore long dresses and gowns, sure. But Lea was one of the few with a giant train. Also: I dislike her earrings.
Naomi Watts in an unknown designer. Eh. It feels like something Nicole Kidman would attempt. I don’t hate it, I just don’t think it suits Naomi. Also: this is what my hair looks like after the gym. Not a good red carpet look.
Eva Longoria in Victoria Beckham. The exposed zipper is… whatever. I’m kind of over Posh’s exposed zipper thing. The orange doesn’t suit Eva’s coloring, but orange looks bad on almost everyone. It’s a good fit, though. And at least it’s not Marchesa.
Kelly Brook looking sweet and innocent in white. This dress makes me think that Kelly doesn’t really know what her assets are, you know? Plus, she’s got the same problem that I have and Jessica Simpson has – the inability to wear something with a high neck. Busty, top-heavy girls need to have some openness at the neck or we look stocky and “thick”.

Lovely since I love her.
Lea Michele is permanently set to ‘try hard’.
Naomi Watts is wearing the most glamorous barbeque apron ever!
There’s something wrong with her make-up…she looks like a cartoon character with those cheeks.
Lea Michele’s dress is really beautiful.
Lea will always be a try-hard when it comes to working the sexy bombshell act. That type of persona doesn’t seem natural to her, as it is for someone like Marilyn Monroe or Sofia Vergara. Saw her on Letterman a while back and found her personality to be more irritating than her character on Glee.
That said, it’s a pretty gown and this shade of blue looks great on her. She is also a talented singer, though her singing style is not my cup of tea.
ETA: Unless they are on athletic apparel, exposed zippers are just tacky.
I kind of like Lea’s dress, but agree with Neelyo, she’s ALWAYS a try hard.
Naomi looks terrible and uncomfortable.
Hate the orange one.
Victoria Beckham dresses make EVERYONE look like stuffed sausages.
yeah, and i can’t believe trying to call eva’s dress “a good fit”. you can see her practically busting out of it at the seams! when the fabric is pulling in all directions, you know it’s tooooooo tight!
I Like Lea’s dress, but I dont really like her hair like that. I like it better down, or if its in an updo, but she has some tendrils coming down. It just looks to severe on her.
forget about lea…..eva longoria’s dress is giving me LIFE!! owwww! Does anyone know the designer?
Dude, did you read the article? It says: “Eva Longoria in Victoria Beckham”
DAAAHHHHH!
All kinds of fug.
I totally agree with everything said by Celebitchy.
Leah even if she looks nice always looks try hard and has the most smug face, I can’t stand her… I actually thought Kelly B looked nice and the dress suited her 😛
I don’t wanna sound like a bitch because I’m not saying this in a negative way just an observational one but I’m pretty sure that in the first few seasons of Desperate Housewives Eva had a waist now she always looks kind of boxy…
Also congrats to Kylie for being awarded the outstanding contribution award 🙂
I know it’s mean, and she can’t help it, but all I ever see is her nose…like that commercial for hayfever drugs where that giant nose with legs runs around……. it’s just overpowering…like Reese’s chin…..but yes, I know, she can’t help it and I have to give her props for not choosing surgery….truly, that’s amazing!
Every time I look at her I see a drag. Can’t help it.
Wow, slicked-back pony tails are the new thing huh?
That’s funny trish, the bar must be really low, not just lea but most of these young stars/starlets just are as everyone said, pathetic try hards – something(s) missing real wit, charm, elegance, sophistication, some sense of art, literature, music, etc., – lea reminds of a little girl living out her fantasy not a “star” in command of herself and her image and truly confident, without arrogance or smugness, of her talent.
Lea looks really beautiful. She is stunning in blue. I actually like Eva in orange, I just hate everything else about the look.
I think this Vegan is just gorgeous and perfect. She’s awesome.
