Tom Cruise’s manic energy is running poor Katie Holmes ragged. Tom keeps a crazy schedule and seems to always be running on way too much coffee. Katie Holmes – not being the favorite child of Xenu – is a regular person who requires sleep and rest to keep on going. And if there’s one thing Tom is not known for, it’s being empathic towards things he doesn’t experience. Since he can keep going and going, he expects the same of Katie, and has seriously exhausted the poor woman by insisting that she fly back to L.A. every single weekend she has off from her Broadway play.
“You’ve got to give me a break, Tom.” That’s the plea an exhausted Katie Holmes made to her workaholic husband Tom Cruise – after she nearly collapsed while trying to keep up with his hectic schedule.
“All the racing around is killing her,” a close source told The Enquirer. “Katie just can’t keep this pace up much longer. Something has got to give – and Katie says Tom is going to have to lighten up on her.
“Of course he wants to see her and Suri, but she can’t keep making these coast-to-coast trips. She has to get some rest. Katie loves being in ‘All My Sons’ on Broadway. It’s been a great success and a terrific experience for her, but Tom doesn’t seem to understand that she needs a break sometimes. She can’t keep going and going like he expects her to.”

The Enquirer goes on to say that Tom often has a 24/7 work schedule and can function fine with just a few hours of dozing on a plane. When Katie told him he had to give her a break, he apologized for not being more considerate. And then, to show what a kind dad he is, he let Katie sleep in late that Saturday morning. The idea of him “allowing” her to sleep in is very parental and sorta creepy. Did he wake her up with chocolate chip pancakes too? Actually never mind, it’s all good.
Katie sounds like she’s seriously exhausted, and I can’t blame her. I’m sure she’s got help, but it still sounds like she’s overwhelmed and she often looks tired in photos. I would never want to keep up with a toddler AND Tom Cruise. I’m sorry but that’s just too much energy right there. I would spend most of my time trying to exhaust both of them so they were sleepy by bedtime. Hopefully Katie will really put her foot down and make Tom come to her just as much as she goes to him. Or just fall asleep whenever he sees her and see if he takes the hint.

To see photos of Katie before Tom and then after Tom, the change is not only startling but heartbreaking. Clearly she had no idea what she signed on for when she got involved with him. I had really wanted her to feel some freedom in NY, so that maybe she would try to break free of Tom. His maniacal mood swings exhaust ME just to look at them—-much less, to actually have to be in the same room with him? I think I would have taken a pillow to his face in his sleep years ago. But that’s just me. 😈
It’s also gonna be an interesting few years to come; Tom is obviously experiencing some mental imbalances which need therapy and meds—-lots and LOTS of meds. His faith in Xenu prohibits him from recognizing that he has a problem which, left unaddressed & untreated, will only escalate along with the bipolar mood swings. He can get by on a few hours’ sleep on the plane? He has a 24/7 schedule? Baby, that’s the manic part of being bipolar. It’s NOT normal. It’s not that I don’t believe Katie might be exhausted by Tom’s demands (I’m exhausted by just reading about him) but this is probably just bullshit, people watching and projecting and making stuff up.
If she’s flying coast to coast nearly every weekend, she probably IS exhausted. It takes all day just to make the trip! Man, I just can’t see that he’s worth it.

that’s strange. surely tom can do the flying out to NYC if he really wants to see her? it is not like he’s making any movies, eh? i agree with SolitaryAngel regarding before and after pictures of Katie. She looks like a totally different person, and not in a good way.
Flying out for Katie is very different than for most of us…no waiting in lines, no being smooshed by humanity in tiny, little seats…no delays or carrying baggage. She jumps on a luxurious pprivate plane and cozies in for a few hours in amazing luxury. It’s hard to feel too badly for her. Yet I question why it is she doing the traveling. Seems typical of Tom’s arrogance that he would make his little girl and his wife come to him.
Brooke Shields said that Broadway can be so gruelling, I am not surprised she is exhausted. Hope she rests a bit afterthe play is done.

He may be a Scientologist, but he’s still human and requires more than a few hours of dozing in a “24/7” work schedule (especially at his age!) Even if you have some pharmaceutical help to stay awake, your brain will eventually force you into unconsciousness when you are overly sleep deprived.
Probably just some wacky PR he put out there to make people think that Scientology is better than caffeine.
I feel much worse for the women in other countries overseas that are utterly exhausted but would be killed if they even mentioned wanting to leave their husbands.
She just looks so wretched since they got married. She’s aged ten years. That vibrant, gorgeous young woman has been replaced with a gaunt, haggard, badly dressed (but she was never stylish anyway to be honest)stressed, unhappy looking wretch. Her eyes are dead. Granted being monitored 24/7 by Scientology watchdogs and controlled by Tom would drive anyone nuts.
Well… she better eat some vitamins and go to a gym or get a hike!

There have been suggestions on other gossip sites that Katie is using extreme weight-control methods to remain so thin.
That would also be a good explanation for exhaustion, dead eyes, etc. At one point in my life I was also too thin, and I felt tired and dizzy much of the time.

She is a 30 years old wealthy woman, who’s father is a lawyer and can easily leave him or not marry him to begin with, had she chose to.
Feel bad for poor, abused women. Feel bad for single mothers who do not have her means and resources.
She was very rich to begin with and was greedy and wanted more fame and fortune.
She wanted to become a Nicole Kidman, without realizing that Nicole was Nicole not because of Tom, but despite.

Tom Cruise is jealous of Katie’s success on Broadway. He’s just acting out by making extra demands on her. Tom’s career is in the toilet and he’s just being a big baby, wanting Katie to be at his beck and call.
Elle – think you’re on to something there. Whatever pleasure and degree of success she’s getting from her role in this play, he wants in on it, wants some of the good feeling towards her to rub off on him and it’s not happening. Controlling freak.
I Do feel sorry for her. She can be criticised for being dumb and falling for his OTT charm initiative (his exs say he has charm to burn) but she had no idea at the time what her life would be like under the CoS/Tom thumb.

See geronimo – as I said in the JA/JM thread, I’m always wary of super-charming men (perhaps with the exception of Julian Rhind-Tutt 😉 ). I’m not just talking about general charm, I’m meaning the type who go on a charm offensive to curry favour with someone. I’ve found that there is generally something that it’s drawing attention away from or there’s a hidden agenda.
But something that elle and geronimo said just clicked something with me. This nonsense, if it’s true, reminds me of something the actress Sian Phillips once said. Sian was a well-respected and succesful actress in her own right when she married Peter O’Toole. But after that her career went downhill when he felt that she wasn’t being supportive enough of his rising star. I can’t remember the exact context but her words were “Peter had a career, I was just allowed to have “jobs””
(don’t get me wrong, I think Peter is the bees’ knees, but I wouldn’t want to be married to him)
Could there be something of this attitude in here? Either way, the poor woman is looking exhausted since the early summer and her clothing choices are getting odder. She was wearing cardigans in the NY summer heat and denim shorts in November. Something smells rotten in the state of Denmark.

This story can’t be true–Broadway shows run on the weekends. On Saturdays there are matinee and evening performances and on Sunday a matinee. They take Mondays off and start up again Tuesday night at 7.
Even if she did fly to LA every week, Katie could only stay about 30 hours there. The schedule: Katie leaves NYC Sunday night about 8 p.m., takes a 6-plus hour flight to LA arriving at 2 a.m. Eastern time Monday. In order to return in time for the 7 p.m. performance on Tuesday she’d have to leave LA at noon Tuesday.
Yes, that would be exhausting but I really doubt she’s doing this.
I think Tom still wants a baby boy, but if that is the case HE needs to jump on a plane and travel to her. Or is he too busy trying to control the world or deflect the Anonymous folk that are dogging him?

The article says her “weekends off” so I’d imagine she has an every other weekend deal or something like that.
Overall, what’s the big deal? Exhausting? Give me a break. This woman has the means to turn her kid over to a nanny for the ride out to the airport and the duration of the flight. She can take the red eye and sleep for the entire flight and get more sleep than many people who work two jobs.
As other posters have pointed out, feel sorry for the moms who go on flights with an unruly toddler on their own, not Katie Holmes, who, overall, has had most everything handed to her lately.
This is an “actress” who has never had to perform at night for free while working some menial job during the day, living in a tiny apartment that she shares with three other people. She didn’t “earn” this shot at Broadway in the same way that other actors earn it. If she has to make a few “exhausting” trips to LA to keep the GMD (ie her meal ticket) happy, so be it.
Not trying to sound heartless, it’s just I see her as someone who’s life isn’t that bad and, if it is, could certainly change it more easily than most of us. But she’s being portrayed as “Poor Katie” more and more and I’m just not feeling it.

This whole thing is just ridiculous. I find it impossible to feel compassion for a woman who should be able to make reasoned decisions about her life and that of her daughter. I find her selfish and her poor little rich girl looks are pathetic. Did she not just think things through? She needs her creative independence for her own self esteem, wants instant reward in motherhood, and still expects to have time left over for premiers etc. Stop whining, focus more on your daughter, and most of all, remember that your issues are so superficial. It’s all so avoidable but she wants to have it all

I believe that the breakup of Tom and Nicole was the best thing that happened to Nicole .She married him at about the same age as Katie and was bowled over by his charm and chasing her down with all the wonderful things a young actress and let me repeat young and naive. He won them over and caged them in and they did not know what the top of the hollywood looked or acted like.He controls and uses all his tools to mentally abuse them until they feel trapped.If they are lucky enough to be thrown over for a newer younger model , That is a gift from God.Nicole left crushed, blindsided and with class.Look at what a woman she has become.I only hope Katie is lucky enough to get away.She is to young to feel confident in her feelings of entrapment.Tom has shown up at her plays to get standing ovations just to put her in her place. He should have hidden in the boxes and let her stand on her own talent ,but that shows you exactly how trapped she is and she needs help. So instead of passing judgement we need to ask the fates or god or any power available to shine down on her and help her to empower herself to move on . I just went looking for some others who would verify what I was seeing with Katie and this site certainly delivered!! BUT, it is so sad that I am not seeing things!
As for why Katie doesn’t just leave Tom, just look too at Nicole, she doesn’t even SEE her children, thanks to ol’ Xenuman. Katie is NEVER alone, and we know enough about this bunch of nuts to know she will always be watched and would lose Suri forever if she tried to embarrass Tommy boy.I have a bad feeling about her future and hope someone can rescue her soon.
