These are new photos of Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Kanye West in Paris over the weekend. Because why not? Why not go on vacation with your boyfriend and your mother, and why not invite the paparazzi to document your every movement, including a very public car trip in the white Lambo you bought for your boyfriend? Oh, Kanye. I’m worried about you, dude. I think you’re in too far. I think Kim is going to get pregnant and it will be a MESS.
Anyway, as I’m sure you’ve heard, Kim and the Kardashian-Jenner family had a sit-down interview with Oprah. Which speaks volumes about Oprah’s efforts to save her failing OWN network, and how far Oprah has fallen. Over the course of the past five days, I’ve seen excerpts from the interview, but I didn’t care much. So let’s go through some highlights:
Kim on whether Kris Jenner is a “pimp”: “I think that’s so ridiculous,” Kim said. “First of all, we have to hire a manager. So regardless, someone is going to get that [job]. No one will fight harder for you than your own mother,” she added. “She knows us. She knows all of our moods…We just get each other. We vibe. It works.”
Would the Kardashians be successful if they weren‘t “good-looking kids?”: “Well,” Rob started, pointing to his three older sisters. “They’re not, like, skinny women.” (Khloé, of course, put her little bro in check, asking, “Who are you?” and sarcastically telling him, “You’re so sweet.”) Then Kim said: “But I don’t think [our success] would’ve happened if we were all like skinny, pretty models,” Kim reasoned. “I think it has to do with us, the curves, the dark hair!” She also thinks that the sisters “helped broaden” the representation of Middle-Eastern women in mainstream media, giving them a niche role as they rose to fame.
On Kim’s sex tape and how it started her career: “You know, I think that’s how I was definitely introduced to the world… It was a negative way, so I felt like I really had to work ten times harder to get people to see the real me. I have to live with the choices I have made. And I can’t dwell on it.” Shooting down the long-lived rumor she released the tape herself, she says she’s always been concerned about “humiliating the family.” When it was released, she said, she turned to her mom, panicked. It was a “really bad day” mom Kris Jenner recalls. “No mother ever wants to hear something like that,” Jenner said earlier in the interview. “I could tell she was in a lot of pain.” Still, she told her daughter, “We can get through anything.”
Whether or not her marriage to Kris Humphries was for ratings: “We have an amazing fan base that watches the show — we don’t do anything for ratings. I was in love: I wanted the life that I always pictured my fairytale life to be. I would’ve had an extravagant wedding anyway, to end that relationship was a risk in itself to lose ratings and I had to take the risk to be honest to myself.” She said that while everything was great in the beginning, the bloom quickly came off the rose after she and Humphries moved in together. “I saw how our relationship was,” she said. “I don’t want to get into the small things, but once we moved in, I knew he was not the one.”
Kim was depressed: “I was in such a deep depression I thought I was going to back away from everything,” she said. “I stayed at home for almost four months and I’m a better person now, as heartbreaking as it was to go through. I loved him, obviously it hurt him, and it hurt me too. It was embarrassing, I don’t want to call it a mistake, it was a lesson.”
Kim on Kanye: “I always dated five years younger,” Kim, 31, said. “My whole thing was completely different, and now I just love that I’m with someone that’s a couple years older than me. I love that my friends are even sometimes 20, 30 years older than me.”
I’m okay with Kim’s answers on the Kris Humphries questions – although Kim and her family profited heavily from the wedding and everything, I do think Kim is telling some version of the truth. My take has always been that Kim simply wanted to be married and she didn‘t care who she was marrying, and she didn’t think Kris Humphries would end up being such a douche. I’m not defending her – she’s an idiot. But I don’t think she plotted this huge wedding debacle simply to get herself more attention.
But I am bothered by her dumb non-denial answer on the sex tape question. She always wants to see herself as the victim in that situation, and I don’t think anyone is buying it.

What I found to be the most interesting part of the interview was Kim stating after marrying Kris Humphries and living with him for 1 week, she then knew that Kris Humphries was not the one. Kris Humphries must be a real douche (I believe he is) for her not to be able to survive being with him. Both of them married each other for the wrong reasons.

The ‘Middle Eastern’ isn’t her quote, so I wonder if she said it, or the interviewer did.
IIRC, she’s quite proud of the Armenian ancestry, I would hope that she would actually know that Armenians are considered ethnically Caucasian, not Semitic/Arab/Middle Eastern.
And Pimp Mama is apparently Scottish/Dutch, so it’s not from her side that she’d be ME.

Armenia is located in the Caucasus region of Southeast Europe. It was a former Soviet republic and it divides Europe from Western Asia.

I watched the actual clip of the interview where she said “I’m middle-eastern” out of her own mouth. She said she didn’t see any middle-eastern women being represented on tv and believes that’s the reason her family is so famous lol…can you believe that?

Armenia is a county with a diverse population that includes Arabs, Turks, Russians, Greeks, and many others. Did any of you people who discount her background perform a genealogical DNA test that allowed you to determine what her ethnic heritage(s) actually are? She might very well have Middle Eastern blood in her.
Let’s not discount 6,000+ years of history simply because the country was recently under European (Russian) rule.

The family spoke about their heritage during an E True Hollywood Story about their lives a few years ago. Don’t know how Kim can say one thing and then turn around and say another. Thank god someone pointed out that Armenia is ethnically diverse. Armenia is part of the caucaus region, yet are sometimes considered part of the middle eastern region. Mostly because Armenians are widespread throughout the middle east. Anyway, it is not outlandish to consider Armenia part of the middle east just like Iran. We all know Iran are more Aryan and Caucasian, not Semitic or Arab, yet are considered as such.

somewhere in the early 1800′s Eastern Armenia became part of the Russian Empire. I believe Western Armenia later became Turkish ruled. I think one of kim’s paternal grandparents is from Eastern Armenia and one is From Western Armenia, hence making her Russian Armenian and Turkish Armenian (from her dad’s side). I don’t know a whole lot about this subject, but I do remember paying attention in history class

Yes Armenia is ethnically diverse, but Kim’s family is not middle eastern. Her dad is a Christian Armenian who is half Turkish Armenian and half Russian Armenian. Do not get this confused with the country of Turkey. We are talking about part of Armenia being ruled by the Turkish. You can’t change geography. Armenia is part of Eurasia actually and not part of the middle east.

I’d also add that yes, there is (and has been) a wide diaspora of Armenians.
And the the Caucasus region is a border region and is geographically next to Turkey/ME.
But back when I read a lot on the area, I don’t remember it referred to as part of the ME. So perhaps this is something new, or has made a reappearance?

I’m not getting confused with the Turkey, I’m just pointing out if people want to classify Armenians as Turkish Armenian, I was unsure if we were talking about ethnically Turks (as they are widespread and not only in Turkey). Again the term Middle East is actually a fluid term, which can range from Morocco to Pakistan, with Albania sometimes in the mix. I believe this is due to the Ottoman Empire’s definition of Middle East as well. Anyway I majored in Middle Eastern studies, that’s why you can’t rigidly define what is a ‘middle east’ and what is not, as it is not only geography, but also politics, history, etc has to be taken into consideration. Also I think it’s a bit unfair to rigidly define other people’s identities, if Kim feels middle eastern, then kudos to her. She isn’t the first armenian to say so.

I understand the fluidity of nationalities/general geographical cultural catchalls.

Vivid paid her 5 million for the rights to the video, Ray-J got a cut of the money as well. She made a deal with Vivid…she let them distribute it and was paid 5 million up front plus a portion of all sales of the video forever…she is still making money off the video every time a pervert in a hotel watches it, she gets a cut. Well first, I do agree and appreciate that they, and Kim in particular, are offering a broader definition of a female silhouette- in the same way that I appreciate that JLo made a large ass into a positive and Beyonce made thick thighs into a positive.
As for everything falling out of her mouth- I can’t even. In the narrowest definition, they may not be motivated by “ratings.” But what they are motivated by: attention, money, twitter followers, endorsement deals, covers of tabloids, paparazzi, google alert hits, etc. Ratings are just a small piece of the whole “empire.”

Their ratings are usually around 3 million. The wedding pulled in around 4 and now they have sunk to about 1.7 million. It’s really not that much compared to how say X-Factor pulls in 20 million. Certainly not enough for all the famewhoring they do. But it’s just enough to keep them on the air.

- Her sex tape: It’s been established by now that sex tapes are “leaked” on purpose to further ones media career. Kardashian “sued” for ownership and later dropped the charges and made a buck from it. Doth protest too much. Vivid is almost always the distributor of celeb sex tapes so it’s not hard to connect the dots. They act like they’re wronged but decide to go along with it after a while. Yah, sure celebs, it all happened by accident…

For the record, I suffer from severe depressive bouts. I’m 43 now and they began when I was 15…sometimes difficult to hold my head up, and I have to have shock treatments. Depression isn’t a joke. It’s a real illness and many die from it through suicide. One can’t imagine it unless they have really experienced it. I can’t read Kim’s mind, but I don’t think she’s the best spokesperson for depression.

I just read on Radar that Kris put Kim on birth control when she was 14, I’m sorry but that’s disgusting and sad. I’m so sick of this trash. I’m hold out hope that kris gets the annulment, and Kim and Kris will be recognized as the frauds they are.

I have to say that she was stunning on Oprah. He must be a good influence on her in one way. Her cat face is mostly gone. I have seen lots of photos or videos where her almond-shaped eyes are back without the gross fake eyelashes she was so fond of and the botoxed cat eyes or the way the eyeliner was. Her makeup was stunning on Oprah, and she had back her beautiful exotic look in place of her Momma Kris Klone Kat face. Maybe he hates that look and she toned down for him, or maybe she kept reading all the cat face comments on the internet.

Didn’t her former PR manager say that she was secretly ecstatic the sex tape leaked? Then she threatened to sue him and put a gagging order on him or sth? He said he never signed the confidentiality agreement but then her lawyers threatened him until he said telling the truth about her wasn’t worth all these troubles. What was his name again?
