Call me Xenu, but I actually think Katie Holmes looks really good in these photos. Katie was out and about yesterday in NYC, and you can yell at me all you want, but I would love to have her bag AND her blouse. I’m crazy in love with her blouse. Does anyone know where I can get a blouse like that? Thanks. Of course, Katie continued her trend of wearing unflattering jeans, although these look like jeggings to me, not skinny jeans. Whatever they are, they are not cute on her at all. But from the waist up, she looks really good – better than she’s looked the past few months.
Bedhead (working from some tabloids) theorized that Katie was purposefully looking like crap as a way to “get back” at Tom, because he’s so anal retentive and demanding (and unhinged). So… what happened here? Is this a post-Scientology-audit version of Katie? Or did she just feel like putting in some effort at some point? Unknown.
Life & Style has a story this week about how Katie and Tom have been spending all of this time apart (true story) and how Katie hasn’t been on Tom’s arm during any of his promotional work for Rock of Ages (which bombed). Of course, Gossip Cop has a denial from an unnamed “source” close to Tom (Xenu).
“Tom & Katie: Marriage in Crisis,” reads the headline of a Life & Style piece about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, who the mag says are struggling “to keep their relationship together.”
According to the tabloid, Holmes and Cruise “have been spending a huge amount of time apart,” and now “something’s definitely shifted between the two of them.”
The mag goes on to claim that “tension’s been building as Tom’s filmed one movie after another in Germany, Russia, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, leaving Katie to care for Suri like a single mother — and feeling depressed over her stalled career.”
Life & Style notes Holmes accepted an invitation to attend a skating event in Asia “because she’s trying to fill the void in her life while her workaholic husband focuses on his job.”
“With all the distance between them,” writes the mag ominously, “their marriage is in full-blown crisis.”
While it’s true the two stars are often in far off locales filming movies, their marriage is NOT in “crisis.”
A source close to Cruise tells Gossip Cop the Life & Style piece is untrue, and points out that the actor, Holmes and their daughter Suri spent several days, including Father’s Day, in Iceland together.
Yes, they spent Father’s Day together, but that was the first time they were together in, like, MONTHS. I do think something is up with them. Maybe it’s contract renegotiations, maybe Katie is tired of the audits, maybe Tom just needs even more “boy time” these days, I don’t really know. But something is up, mark my words.

She’s an attractive woman, but her figure is just bizarre. The proportions on her legs are weird, but her shoulders are also so so so narrow… she has the weirdest body shape.

She really needs to take all the jeggings, mini skirts, short dresses, leggings out of her wardrobe.
She would look best in knee length skirts, or just a tad above, wide legged trousers/jeans, maxi dresses and more flowy type dresses.
I think she is really pretty but her bottom half just is so bulky that wearing jeggings is not doing her a favor at all.

I agree… Something that’s really not helping is the neckline of that top, being almost ‘off-the-shoulder’. It’s causing her (who already has a long neck) to look like a brontosaurus…

I think she needs to:
-get a better lower half work-out routine
-start learning how to dress for her body type.
Her body does have a particular proportion, she should just learn how to use clothes to make her body structure more balanced!
Then again, if this is still her master-plan to piss Tommy-girl off… go Katie!

Poor thing, it’s like her brain expects her body to be petite, is shocked by how much there actually is and handles it awkwardly. She’s not overweight of course there’s just a tall lot of body, oddly proportioned.
I haven’t really seen her on screen (awful actress – except “Wonder Boys” but she was floated by the rest of the talent), until she popped up on HIMYM. Man, even her head is odd. Massive jawline and weird curled mouth.
Wow, I sound awful this morning. This doesn’t mean she isn’t a wonderful person and her eyes are totally where you’d expect them to be.

Sundance catalog has a bunch of these gauzy tops. I admit I saw Rock of Ages last night and it was often painful to watch. Several people left half-way through; the dialog was horrible.

Yes, the theater only had about 25 people in it which surprised me considering it was 96 degrees yesterday. The acting was horrible but I have to admit Russell was funny and the young lead guy was cute. Tom’s performance was obviously campy but his body really turned me off. My friend and I saw “Wedding Singer” and didn’t react as harshly; maybe because the songs weren’t covers?

Hyperextension. You don’t see it too much in legs – it’s really noticeable in arms though (you know, when it looks like the elbow is bending the wrong way).

I don’t have the legs for skinny jeans. They are shapely (thank you) but not long and lean. So I don’t do myself that disservice. I think we all need to recognize that everyone can not wear everything.

I agree, that it appears that Katie has taken control of her daily life.
And I like seeing her in cute cotton casual clothes.
You have to remember she is a tall girl.
And contrary what one might think.
It is hard to find flattering jeans for tall girls. If you are over 5’8 it is hard to find something you like that fits in the rise and is long enough.
I am going to give her a pass on the skinny jeans here. I much rather see them than the high waist… bell bottom jeans.
And for the love of all things holy… please someone take those awful suede booties from her and burn them!

I like Katie. I know, I know…she’s married to that wee Napoleon and she’s into Scioncrazy, but still, I can’t help it.. I like her. Maybe I’m just rooting for her and only see what I want to see. Who knows.

The top is Calypso. I have this one and a bunch of others too –I hate my upper arms (unlike Katie here, I try to dress for my body) and since they’re light and loose cotton, they keep me cool while covering up my no-see zones. I reach for mine constantly in spring and summer.

I’m in love with the top, too, although I think I’d prefer it to be cut a bit longer. The crop-top look with the skin tight jeans is an unfortunate look for Katie’s body type. So close, yet still a fashion miss for me.

Maybe she is on the verge of a break up. She actually disciplined Suri when they were in NY. There are pics from yesterday where Katie took away Suri’s ice cream because she was naughty. The pics had Suri wailing while they were walking. Katie’s ignored her and never capitulated. google the pics they are online.
That’s new folks. If you remember the FAO Schwartz meltdown last year, Katie let Suri yell and scream at her. She then rewarded that behavior with candy and toys.
I hope that means she’s leaving Tommy Girl and Sci. I hope he Dad can ge Suri back too.

I could see her being bored now that Suri is older and doesn’t need constant care. She doesn’t have parenting taking up all her time and her career is dead and Tom seems focused on himself, not supporting her. His “support” was probably the reports of him wanting to knock her up again.
I think she wants a career again and Tom is hurting that. I hope she leaves him and does a couple indie roles to get her career going again

For some reason I really like her. Maybe it’s because I loved her character on Dawson’s Creek so I just kind of root for her. She sort of worries me, but she mostly looks really good here. The pants aren’t super flattering, but she looks healthier.

I think a great way to find lots of blouses like that is on etsy.com. If you haven’t heard it’s a worldwide consortium of artisans/designers/jewelers, etc, etc.,
if you make your own (_____ insert craft/clothing/furniture here_____) you can advertise on etsy. just type in the search box something like ‘peasant blouse embroidered’ and it will pull up all relevant items. you can also search for vintage items as well. So far I found almost 300 hits under that search alone
