Khloe Kardashian begins fertility treatments as Lamar looks to the LA Clippers

These are some new photos of Khloe Kardashian at last night’s Life & Style “A Summer of Style” red carpet/event/thing. I like Khloe’s dress. I hate that she’s using a red Birkin with it, though. It seems tacky. Anyway, I haven’t written about Khloe in a little while because, quite honestly, I was feeling sorry for her. Last week TMZ reported that Khloe and Lamar were beginning fertility treatments at the ART Reproductive Center in Beverly Hills, and I saw a lot of people making fun of her because of it. The girl has fertility issues, y’all. She’s been trying to get pregnant for years, I’m glad she’s finally being proactive about it, and I’m sorry if this ruins the Kardashian Hate-On, but I think Khloe’s fertility issues should be off-limits for criticism. Just my take.

In the meantime, Lamar Odom is still searching for some kind of career comeback since getting dumped by the Lakers last year. After a back-and-forth gig with the Dallas Mavericks – that ended up being a disaster – Radar reports that Lamar is now in talks to sign with the LA Clippers. Lamar REALLY wants to stay in LA:

Khloe Kardashian is going to get to live close to her family once again! Lamar Odom is in talks to sign with the LA Clippers, which means the happily married couple can remain in Los Angeles permanently, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

“Lamar’s agent is in talks with the Clippers,” a source close to the NBA star told RadarOnline.com. “He and Khloe are thrilled that he’ll be returning to the team and that they will get to stay in LA and be close to their families.”

According to the source, the 32-year-old hoops star is eager to return to the team where he started his professional career — playing from 1999 – 2003.

“Lamar wants to return to Los Angeles and the Clippers want him. They just need to work out finances and contractual issues,” the source says.

While Khloe, 27, is hoping to start a family so she’s glad she’ll be able to be in Los Angeles full time.

“Khloe wants to be near her own family when she and Lamar start their family and this new job for him will make that all happen so easily. She was happy to move to Dallas and would move anywhere for Lamar, but having him on a team in LA is a dream come true,” the source says.

[From Radar]

I didn’t know that there was a team called the “LA Clippers” but then again, I know nothing about sports. It’s a step down, right? It feels like a step down. But! Many outlets claim that Lamar is looking pretty good for the US Olympic team – Hollywood Life’s sources claim that Lamar is “in the best shape of his career” and that “the chances of him making the team are incredible right now… Not only because [of] the injuries that have plagued the potential selections, but because he actually is ready for it.” I actually hope he makes the team. I think it would be a great morale boost for him.

I pray Lamar does NOT make the Olympic Team. The Kardashian Media Circus overshadows everything and it wouldn’t stop at the Olympics.

    • Veruca says:

      Amen, Dusty!

But I do hope Khloe gets her fertility stuff worked out. She’s the only K spawn that’d have a chance at normalcy.

    • pj says:

omg could you imagine the Kardashians at the Olympics all up in the cameras? Bruce is actually going to be a reporter for E Network at the Olympics so I’m sure we’ll at least see Kris Jenner there.

      • Amelia says:

        WHAT?
No. No, just no, stay the hell out of my city Kardashians!
If I see her, I may ‘accidentally’ push Kim into the Thames.

      • Helen says:

How much of the E network do they own?

    • Relli says:

Agreed. I dont want to have to watch a very special Kardashian special in the middle of the Olympics. Even the Bob Costas-Bot needs a shut down every now and than.

    • Candance says:

Some people should not have children. It’s natural selection.

    • deehunny says:

Wow, really? I always hate the fact that many basketball stars do not choose to play in the Olympics because of the risk of injury, even though it is the highest honor to represent your country worldwide. Lamar is a good player– send him to the Olympics!

  2. Smokey blues says:

Nice to see Khloe in a dress that flatters her! I know how it feels to be the “big” one of three sisters (aka my sisters are tiny and I’m normal/tall). It can be hard, but just look how great she looks when she is on her own, dressing for her own self! I hope she gets the baby she desires.

  3. Katie says:

Seriously? Making fun of someone for needing fertility treatments? What is wrong with people?!?

    • Susan says:

+1. Infertility is not a joking matter.

      • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

Thank you ladies. I’ve been meant with disbelief when I’ve tried to explain the stigma surrounding infertility (and seeking treatment in order to conceive). I was once told that infertility was God’s way of telling me I wasn’t meant to have kids. Well thank GOD I put my faith in science and was able to have two perfect little boys. I wish the same for Khloe (even if she is a Kardashian).

      • It is ME!! says:

        This, Mort. Times a million.

        Infertility should be off limits.

Especially when many of those who can easily have kids SHOULDN’T HAVE ANY!

    • Amelia says:

I was about to say the same thing. Who on earth does that?! I hope her fertility treatment goes well and ends up with a happy, healthy child 🙂

    • NYC_girl says:

People are cruel. I did one cycle of IUI alone, with a donor 2 years ago, and was going to try again last year but lost my job. The last thing she needs is negativity from nasty people esp if she’s doing IVF or another more invasive procedure. I wish her luck. I also thinks she looks lovely in the pics.

      • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

@NYC, I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your job. I did 3 cycles of clomid with IUI before I was able to become pregnant the first time. I did some reading and read that metformin (the type 2 diabetes drug) can boost fertility and took that the second time around (along with the clomid). Sure enough, I became pregnant the first cycle! I hope you’re able to conceive in the near future and that your career prospects improve.

      • NYC_girl says:

@Mort – thanks so much!! I appreciate your kind words. At the time, my doctor suggested trying Ovidrel for the next cycle – I was going to try 3 cycles of IUI and then let it go. I don’t think I can go through IVF… but I’ll have to see what the future brings!

    • Chicagogurl17 says:

Agreed and thank you Katie, Susan and Morticians! I just finished 6 months of hormone therapy and we are now onto fertility treatments. It takes it’s toll mentally and physically — (migraines, weight gain, crazy mood swings), but to make matters worse, I cannot believe how insensitive some people really are. How inappropriate comments like, “the world has enough people, some people weren’t meant to breed — maybe you should take it as a sign” or “i already thought you were pregnant, you’ve been gaining weight” or those who talk about how easy it was for them when they weren’t even trying. I think reproduction, adoption and medical issues should always be off-limits.

      • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

@itisme!! Hey! Long time no see. ITA and thank you.

@NYC, sending positive vibes your way. I sincerely hope it happens for you!

@chicago, well said and I’m sorry people are being so insensitive. Sending positive vibes your way as well.

      • Susan says:

Good luck Chicago! We’re pulling for you.

    • the original bellaluna says:

I cannot imagine my life without my children. I don’t WANT to! I’ve wanted 4 kids since I was a small child. Well, I’ve got them: his (1); mine (2); and ours (1). There’s my four.

To read that people are making fun of someone who wants desperately to have a child and hasn’t been able makes my heart hurt.

Say what you want about the Kardashians, but Khloe is BY FAR the most down-to-earth, tolerable one. And frankly, I think she’ll make a good mother.

Mort, NYC, chicago, thank you for speaking the truth!

      • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

        @bells, love you!

      • NYC_girl says:

@Bella – xo. Hope everyone is staying cool today; it’s hotter than hell here!

      • OriginalTiffany says:

You know what else? Lamar’s young toddler was killed a few years ago. He was devastated.
I hope they get pregnant and make a super tall basketball baby. At least she isn’t a Kardasssian.

      • Chicagogurl17 says:

Thanks ladies! I treasure your wit and kindness!

      • the original bellaluna says:

Mort, OTiff – Love you too. You know me, ladies!

NYC, Chicago – You ladies stay strong! Sending positive vibes and love your way.

  4. AmyLynne says:

The idea of someone making fun of her for something like this is just sickening. Also, if Kim gets pregnant before her, it’ll be so sad 🙁 I really hope she gets the baby she wants! 🙂

  5. Stacie says:

I’m Happy for Klomar. I love them as couple . I want them to have a child and stay in LA . Good Luck to them !!! : )

    • OriginalTiffany says:

Just because I am the resident sports gal…
The Clips used to play in San Diego, hence the name. As in Clipper ship. Other interesting fact? Lamar started with the Clips and was dropped after his Marijuana charges back in the day, then Miami, LA Lakers, Dallas and maybe Clips again?

They moved to LA about 20 years ago, first into the LA sports arena-yuck. Then into Staples with the Lakers. Takes them 2.5 hours to switch out the floor.

During this playoff run, they were switching between Kings (Stanley Cup Champs this year), Lakers and Clips. Funniest thing? Clips get the visitor locker room, even when they are the home team against the Lakers.

The reason you don’t know about them? Until two years ago the owner refused to pay for players, they were always terrible, made the playoffs once in 89 I think. They are loaded for bear these days.

  6. BRE says:

I agree about Khloe’s fertility issues being off limits. It seems that people are to quick to blame the woman if she can’t get pregnant.

  7. Margot says:

Hate the Kardashians but love Khloe. I don’t agree with fertility treatments… it’s a sign that maybe if you’re going to start a family you should give a less fortunate child a home and a loving family. I wish her the best though, she is the only normal one in the family.

    • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

Wow. A “sign” from who? I guess being diagnosed with a terminal illness is a “sign” that it’s your time to go! This has to be one of this most ignorant comments I’ve ever heard (apart from the one I spoke about above, which is pretty much exactly what you just said).

      • Meg says:

GO GIRL! What a horrible, small-minded thing to say. Maybe we were SUPPOSED to develop these treatments to assist our fragile bodies. I pray you are recovering nicely from whatever you were diagnoised with, MorticiansDoItDeader. I’ve also struggled with infertifility and say: A plague on that poster!!!!

      • RTR_Girl says:

Amen, Mort. If you have never dealt with the heartbreak of infertility, as I have, then shut up. Seriously. Shut. Up. Sure, adoption is a wonderful thing, but there is also nothing wrong with wanting a biological child, if possible. The ignorance and insensitivity of some people is staggering.

      • OriginalTiffany says:

Thanks for typing all that so I didn’t have to, Mort:)

      • Val says:

MDID – THANK YOU! What a great response to ignorant people who say “oh you should just adopt” as if that’s as easy as running down to Kid-Mart and grab yourself a young ‘un!

    • Jayna says:

Wow. So those that can naturally can just keep pumping their own out? But she should adopt because she needs fertility help? Maybe the ability to have more than one child easily means don’t be selfish, have one, adopt the rest. Who makes anyone judge and jury as to who should adopt? Never mind. It’s a sign. LOL

    • danni says:

I get that you’re coming from a good place but I hate the assumption that adoption is the best choice for everyone if pregnancy doesn’t happen easily.

adoption is a very difficult, emotional process that can take longer and result in more disappointments than IVF. Is it worth it if you get a child? yes of course. but many don’t. money doesn’t get you as far as you think and there’s something to be said for wanting to experience pregnancy yourself.

    • Zoid says:

One of my best friends has endometriosis (painful cysts on her ovaries that do major damage to her fertility). Guess I’ll just tell her it’s a sign to give up her dreams of kids.

      • Bubbling says:

Uh-oh I have that, plus PO syndrome…looks like I’m fuc*ed royally. Anyway, please give Margot a brake. I’ll never get why people get so defensive when they come across other people’s opinion that don’t match their own.

      • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

@meg, thank you! I have PCOS and didn’t struggle nearly as much as many people i know. I can’t imagine the pain and disappointment they’ve suffered. Thank you for the support and I hope you’re doing great as well.

@RTR, it’s hard for me to wrap my head around the idea that it’s acceptable to criticize those of us seeking treatment for infertility. I take comfort in the fact that their arguments against seeking treatment are almost always rooted in some “mystical reasoning” and I think, “well bless their hearts, these are probably the same people who think the earth is only 5,000 years old and that our ancestors rode dinosaurs.

@tiff, @zoid, @danni, @jayna, thank you for your support. It’s good to know there are people out there that stand behind those of us struggling with infertility.

      • OriginalTiffany says:

That’s why I had an early hysterectomy at 35. Thankfully, I already had my two, boy and girl. Done and done. Except for the hormone therapy.

      • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

@bubbling, their are much more sensitive ways to express one’s opinion. Saying infertility is a “sign” that we shouldn’t have children is not only ignorant, it’s insensitive. She’s making a blanket statement about the potential “fitness” of all women struggling with infertility. She has a right to her opinion, just as I have a right to call her out on how ridiculous it is. Anyway, I hope you are able to find an effective treatment for your PCOS. The symptoms can be very unpleasant and should be addressed even if you never intend on having children.

    • Susan says:

Margot, while you are entitled to your opinion, and I don’t intend to attack you as a person, I am offended by your statement. I am infertile (thankfully with a child due to treatments) and I am adopted. While I appreciated being part of a great adoptive family, I was curious about being part of a biological family too. Did I not have the right to experience that? Infertility is so common and varied and some of the most incredible families I know were products of treatments. There is no right formula to families. Natural fertility, assisted fertility, adopted, blended from previous relationships, 2 mommies, 2 daddies, all can be great families. Judging people who simply want to share their love and lives is very unkind.

      • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

@susan, great post and best wishes for a healthy pregnancy.

      • Susan says:

Thanks Mort! I’m actually not pregnant now, but fingers crossed. I just meant with 1 child already. We’re working on number 2. I also have PCOS and have been treated really well by friends and docs. I know a lot of people that seeked treatment to have children. I think the stigma is chipping away. Congrats on your 2 boys. They’re lucky to have you!

      • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

@susan, That’s great news and I hope you’re able to have as many as you want. Also, thank you so much for the kind words. You’re strong and articulate and I have a feeling your son or daughter is lucky to have you for a mom as well.

*wanted to correct the improper use of homonym on my previous post to @bubbling. I meant there not their.

      • chaser says:

        Wow, wow, wow. Amazing post.

        Another infertile gal here.

Heart and props to all you ladies and your partners.

    • It is ME!! says:

Good thing you don’t make the rules for the whole world, then, yeah?

Don’t like fertility treatments? Don’t have them. Feel free to try and adopt, whether you are fertile or not.

  8. blc says:

Khloe looks so great here! I always love Khloe but the stuff she often wears is so unflattering. She looks beautiful in these pictures! I hope that Lamar moving back to LA will cut down on her stress and hopefully she can get pregnant soon.

  9. StopItLuke says:

Anybody that makes negative comments about Khloe’s fertility issues are a**holes tbh.
I hate the whole Kardashian machine but Khloe is the exception, she’s a great person. I hope she gets pregnant and I hope her husband makes a comeback 🙂

    • lisa2 says:

If I had to say I liked anyone in that family it would be her.

She and Lamar really seem to love each other. They kind of show that you can meet the right person and just know it is the right person. And Lamar is a really good guy. I hope he gets to the Olympics and gets the Clippers job. He is very talented.

  10. pj says:

You said talking about Khloe’s fertility treatments should be off limits, YET your headline for this story is “Khloe Kardashian begins fertility treatments”. I hope she gets pregnant very soon. By the way she’s really in good physical shape right now…she looks great.

Yes the LA Clippers is a major step down ! I feel bad for Lamar, jeez what happened to his career…it’s the Kardashian curse I tell ya lol ! They ruin every man they touch.

    • SingSongSally says:

Actually the Clippers are one the best teams in the NBA w/ 2 of the best players in the League; Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. If he gets picked up by them, it’s a major sign that he is back at the top of his game. Imma sporty lady and had to set the record straight…

      • pj says:

I used to follow basketball and I do remember people always making fun of the clippers and saying they are the worst team in the NBA but that was years ago so maybe I need to brush up. Lamar used to play for the Clippers when he first got signed to the NBA. Either way, he is 32 and only has a few years left in the NBA, then he will probably either do reality tv full time or get a job on ESPN or something.

      • OriginalTiffany says:

Not only that, they have Caron Butler-ex-Laker. They are deep and set for years right now. If Chauncey comes back, they basically have another coach on the floor as well.

Now can Jim Buss pull his head out of his ass and get Kobe, Pau and tantrum Bynum some damned help?

  11. Katy says:

I can’t even believe that people would make fun of anyone for having fertility issues….what is up with that?! It’s a really hard thing to go through. I’ve been through it myself (unsuccessfully I might add) and it is heartbreaking. I can’t stand this family, but that’s just taking hate to a whole new level. I do like Khloe though and wish her success!!!

    • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

@katy, Best of luck (with whatever you decide to do). I was able to have my two little boys via fertility treatments and I’m the product of fertility myself. It took my mom 11 years to have me (and she suffered 5 miscarriages and a stillbirth). I hope motherhood finally happens for you (whether it be via pregnancy or adoption).

  12. Blue says:

    I really like/want that bag!!!

  13. Blue says:

Also fertility issues isn’t a joking matter or a sign you shouldn’t have kids. There are many people who are a bit too fertile who have no business reproducing.

    • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

Thanks to you (and everyone else up thread) for being the voice of reason.

  14. ladybert62 says:

I think she should wait until his career is settled unless she wants him to be a stay-at-home-dad while she globe trots with her sisters/mother.

  15. SW says:

    I don’t understand what happened with Lamar! He’s a good player….I’m confused.

    • Scarlet Vixen says:

The Kartrashian Klan happened to him, that’s what. A professional athlete constantly being distracted and having to focus so much energy on being on tv shows, appearances, scripts (ya, the Kartrashian ‘reality’ shows are about the opposite of ‘real’), etc sadly can’t be as good at his real job as he should be. I like the guy, but his personal life has unfortunately gotten in the way of his game, and very likely ruined his career.

And good lord I hope the Kartrashian Klan doesn’t make it to the Olympics. IF Odom is being considered, it’s only because injuries and egos of better players have paved the way. Pro ballers don’t want to play in the Olympics because it’s extra work after the season is already over and the lack of pay. The days of the Dream Team are sadly over.

  16. T.C. says:

Khloe is the only part of that family I can stand. I didn’t think her marriage would last but I was wrong. Good luck getting pregnant.

  17. me says:

There seems to be a lot of fertility issues among women now a days, quite sad. Could it be environmental? Kris Jenner sure didn’t have any issues getting pregnant, so don’t think it is hereditary, or maybe it is. Poor Khloe, she always seems to have it tougher than the rest in her family and she is the most deserving of GOOD things…everyone likes her the best.

    • OriginalTiffany says:

      NOT accusing her.
Lots of these can also be caused by STDs. Plus women are waiting longer bringing into play age, health, etc. Like endometriosis, POD, so many factors.

Fertility is a tangled web. I used to hate doing exams on infertile women, they used to scream during it. Thank God we’ve come a bit farther in the last 20 years. Hysterosalpingiograms=not fun.

    • NYC_girl says:

I think infertility can be caused by a range of things. Some women get pregnant easily, others don’t. I have a friend who got pregnant when she was 43. Easy pregnancy and healthy baby. Others struggle – the brief (1 IUI) experience I had was an emotional roller-coaster; I respect any woman who goes through it. I got sperminated during my lunch hour and had to run back to my office, where I sat alone for the rest of the day dumbfounded by what I had done. To be totally superficial, am I wrong for not liking the Birkin bag? I wouldn’t toss one aside if given one, but I fondled my friend’s once and besides being a status symbol, it’s really not practical. If I remember correctly it’s unlined, with either no or just one interior pocket.

  18. Hannah says:

I agree 110% I think that kids and/or kid issues should be left alone in general, unless it is a safety issue. I’m a mother of one with one on the way and I know how protective I am when someone’s tailgating me. I can’t imagine my uterus or child being under the watchful and judgemental eye of the (let’s face it) mostly moronic public. A woman’s body is her own, and children are not to be used as a spectator sport!

    • remote control says:

love the name Hannah! Our baby girl is due next month and will most likely be named Hannah Jane. OK, I’m a bit off topic..

  19. QoFE says:

I like The Candy Man…..always have. Now I can resurrect my original Odom Clippers jersey. The only bummer? If I have to see the K Klan for 41 home games…..ugh.

  20. I.want.shoes says:

I’m not saying that people should make fun of her for having fertility treatment, but nobody would be discussing her uterus if she hadn’t signed on to her own reality tv show where she discusses it at length. I’m just saying that what’s private and dear to you shouldn’t be exposed for all to see and comment on.

    • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

I see what you’re saying but, conversely, speaking out about it MAY help destigmatize it.

  21. Kim1 says:

So its OK to make fun of celebs with anorexia example eat a burger or celeb who is not pretty or a celeb who is a drug addict.Whats the difference? Noone plans to become anorexic, infertile or drug addict all should be off limits IMO Before someone claims she didnt cause her fertility issues we dont know that in
My case untreated chlamydia caused PID/ infertility.

  22. CityGirl says:

I love these 2 as a couple. I wish them well on both having babies and staying in LA because it seems thats what they want.

  23. Jayna says:

Khloe is my fav. And while Kourtney is abrasive and cold to Scott, she appears to be a very devoted mother, who adores being a stay-at-home mom, with a part-time career, and not all that involved in famewhoring.

  24. birdie says:

I really like Khloe and wish her all the best. I don’t like how she gets bashed in the media about her looks, to me she looks amazing. She is so much prettier than cat-face Kim and down to earth. I am not a Kardashian fan, but I am rooting for her! She is always so nice to her fans on twitter! Hope she is pregnant soon.

What I REALLY like about her is that she keeps her relationship with Lamars kids out of the media. Yesterday she tweeted that she loves them like they were hers, but she doesn’t want to offend anyone (aka the kids mom). So classy!! Leann Famewhore Rimes should take some serious notes!

  25. Shannon says:

I hope the Clippers don’t sign him. Any increased attention from the Kardashians would drive me up the wall. It’s time for the family to be on the way out. They appear to be on their last gasp anyway. Cross your fingers.

  26. the original bellaluna says:

I wish Khloe and Lamar the best. And may a thousand water buffalo piss on the clean white sheets of anyone who makes fun or or criticizes someone for seeking fertility treatments.
