@maguita, discussions, more or less, always come down to someone wanting citations and/or peer reviewed data. LOL. i.e., on a thread about placing new limitations on sex offenders, people wanted data on recidivism rates. Then a good amount of people went on to defend the civil liberties of the sex offenders. I was blown away. They’re very much into arguing facts and figures. I talked about using the alternative vaccine schedule (spacing out vaccines) and was told there was no peer reviewed data to back up my vaccine schedule, and that I was using my child as “a one off guinea pig.” I was also placed in the same category as the “anti-vaccine idiots” and “Jenny McCarthy.” I had some support from other commenters who got the idea that I was trying to minimize the potential for an reaction (since I only allow my children to have one new vaccine at a time). I told them about how the rotovirus vaccine caused my son to have violent diarrhea and dehydration, and about how the doctor said it appeared to be a reaction to the vaccine, (because of the timing and known side effects), but commenters told me we were both wrong (that the illness was coincidental and there was no scientific evidence to support my theory). Other website rules are no body snarking (so no pointing out obvious plastic surgery etc) and no +1 etc. All of the rules, about what you can and can’t say, strike me as funny (because they’re a website SO focused on constitutional rites, yet they’re pretty quick to limit people’s ability to comment on certain things).

Basically it’s stepping away from gossip on everyday news, and becoming a very-much policed state.
Although I love challenging people to prove what they are talking about (Obama was born in Kenya), sometimes, common sense must prevail. Because where it concerns medical expertise, like any Romney discourse, you can find studies supporting both ends of the spectrum. Flip-Flopping on the same subject, depending on who’s funding the project.

@Mort-my friend’s sister got a flu vaccine while pregnant (upon her doctor’s advice) for the safety of the baby. She had a violent reaction and ended up unable to talk, walk, eat. 8 months later she is making a slow recovery-finally started to drive. She’s basically a miracle story because doctors thought she would never recover. I thought it was just a known thing that vaccines can cause problems. I know that the autism link has been invalidated but why would people jump on you for saying what you said? Again, thought it was common knowledge that vaccines *can be* dangerous.

However, I will admit that my husband and I were curious about this hype and saw a few minutes of this sex tape. Kim looked right into the camera and beamed. This was no accident. This was not for her private collection. She wanted a debut.

I love Dakota, but girl has terrible style. She either dresses like a 12 year old princess or a wacked out hipster. Not a fan of JenLaw, but she’s not wearing anything sheer on purpose. It’s the high flash the paps use on their cameras to take photos. It makes a lot of outfits, which normally look fine under the light, sheer. I read that somewhere in a fashion blog, plus having seen the paps go after Britney at Starbucks once and how bright the flash is I can totally understand how that happens.

I think Kim made the tape because a lot of her friends were making them and she thought it was cool and edgy; and also because ray J. was kind of famous compared to Kim at the time. But I don’t think she did it because her mom told her to.
But is was the pimp mom who definitely capitalized on it. It was Kris who decided to make lemonade out of piss, so to speak, and she convinced her daughter that the tape was nothing to be ashamed of, but rather an opportunity to be exploited for $$$. I am sorry this post is so long, but I have been thinking about this a lot (too much!), and there is an interesting timeline that I think points to Kris doing this. I don’t want to think that a mother can be that low down, but I think Kris had Kim make the sex tape, and it was kept on ice until the right time to release it. It was all part of her master plan, but I don’t think even she knew how well it would work. We have come to know how much of a fame whore Kris is and she has passed her greed and need for fame onto her children and manipulated them as much as possible.
I checked Wikipedia and the timeline is as follows:
In 2001, Paris Hilton becomes famous for NOTHING but is named New York’s leading “It Girl” socialite and becomes a tabloid/internet fixture.
In November 2003, Paris gained “significant notoriety” due to the release of her sex tape JUST PRIOR to the premiere of “The Simple Life” with Nicole Ritchie, which became a huge hit. Nicole Ritchie was NOT FAMOUS until that show went on the air. She was Lionel’s daughter yes, but not famous. So her fame came from her attachment to Paris.
Kim’s sex tape was filmed in 2003, but not released until 2007. It is interesting that Kim married music producer, Damon Thomas, in 2000 and they divorced in 2004. So she was STILL MARRIED to him when she made the sex tape with Ray J in 2003. So she has been a whore for a very long time.
In 2006, Kim starts hanging out with Paris Hilton, being photographed and reported on in tabloids/internet gossip sites.
In 2007, Kim’s sex tape is released JUST PRIOR to the Kardashian’s reality show (just like Paris!). When the show first aired, although Kim was somewhat known, Bruce Jenner was the MOST FAMOUS of them all. Of course, now he is just melting wallpaper on the show.
In 2009, Kim and Paris have a “feud” that many believed was just for publicity, but Paris is filmed saying she had a few friends that only hung out with her to become famous. Also, it dawned on me that Linda Thompson, who was married to Bruce Jenner, and is the mother of Brody and Brandon, was on the reality show, “Princes of Malibu”, with her sons and her then husband, David Foster in 2005. Brody and Brandon are Kris’ stepsons and half brothers to Kylie and Kendall. The show was created and executive produced by Brody. Brody was also on The Hills, which started in 2007. I bet Kris was PISSED and insanely jealous of Linda and those boys being on those shows. Linda is an award winning songwriter now, and has done several “smallish” acting parts. She was on Hee Haw prior to that. But the reason she became internationally famous was because she was Elvis Presley’s girlfriend for 5 years. I am a huge Elvis fan, and Elvis fans LOVE Linda much more than Priscilla, so I have mad respect for her, and she is NOTHING like Kris. How Bruce could move from Linda to Kris is beyond me because they are as different as any two women could be. But I can just imagine Kris saying something to the effect of, “She’s only famous because she f*cked Elvis!”.
Now, this is after Robert Kardashian becomes famous in 1995 for being O. J. Simpson’s attorney. They divorced in 1990, so Kris missed that chance to become famous. Don’t you know that pissed her off too. I know Robert is their father, but they made sure they mentioned him over and over on that show, so they could attach themselves to his FAME even after he was dead and buried! Remember how she had the gall to talk about Nicole Simpson not too long ago; bringing attention to herself over that tragedy that happened over 20 years ago!
So that is my two cents about this. Kris wanted to be famous so badly she used Kim to get it for her, beginning with that sex tape. I never had any respect or use for these bottom feeders, and knowing that this “theory” is probably true, I think they are disgusting. Its funny that the lurid truth is finally coming out about them. They are on their way down. We just have to be patient. They are their own worst enemies.

Interesting timeline about KK and the tape. As far as her using Paris, Paris has used so many people herself, I have no problem when anyone uses Paris.
The one good thing Kris did, if true, is get her daughter on birth control at age 14. Otherwise, KK would have had to flip a multi-sided coin to figure out the father.
