Alec Baldwin says Salma Hayek is “most fabulous woman ever”

Despite having a personality that can be a bit difficult at times, Alec Baldwin sure seems to get along well with the women in his life – at least the ones he works with. Last week he raved to People about working with Jennifer Aniston, calling the day they shot their kissing scene, “‘the greatest day of my life.’” He also joked that it was “painful,” and wondered how other men did it.

Baldwin’s guest star fawning has moved on already, and now he’s talking up Salma Hayek. I have to say that even though he’s got that temper issue and can be a bit of a diva, I think he’s been quite the gentleman when asked about Jennifer and Salma.

Step aside, Jennifer Aniston. You’re no longer Alec Baldwin’s favorite 30 Rock guest star.

That honor belongs to Salma Hayek, who played the actor’s love interest for five episodes.

“She was literally the most fabulous woman that I’ve ever worked with,” Baldwin recently told PEOPLE.

And at last night’s CNN “Heroes” tribute award show, Hayek was quick to return the praise.

“We had such a great time!” she told PEOPLE, “I love Alec to death. He energizes me … because he’s so talented. He really, truly inspires me.”

The 42-year-old Hayek – who has a one-year-old daughter Valentina Paloma and has been cozying up to her billionaire ex in real life – arrived at the event in a jaw-droppingly low-cut turquoise dress and a black pashmina. “This is the gift that Alec gave me,” she said of the wrap, “just for being his girlfriend for five episodes. I feel like he’s coming with me tonight!”

At first I was sort of surprised that Salma agreed to be on 30 Rock, since her show Ugly Betty is on a different network on the same night. But the two shows have different time slots and don’t compete with each other – though 30 Rock has poked funny at Ugly Betty a time or two. The pictures of the two shooting scenes around New York were cute and it looks like they were genuinely having fun. I am more and more impressed with Alec Baldwin all the time.

Here’s Alec and Salma filming scenes for “30 Rock” outside the NBC studios in Rockefeller Center on November 21, 2008. Images thanks to Bauer-Griffin.

Baldwin *might* rate the quality of his costars by the size of their ta-tas.

In any case, a WIN for Salma!

  2. Baholicious says:

    @Kaiser: She’s mighty, alright.

  3. rules says:

oh yeah, baldwin’s an alright fellow………….when he’s not verbally abusing his daughter, calling her a little pig. Yessiree, he’s alright.

  4. Syko says:

I think he’s all right. Who hasn’t snapped at their kids unreasonably from time to time? We’re all human. The only difference for Alec is that SOMEONE taped the conversation and released the tape to the media.

He seems like a fun guy with a lot of talent to me.

  5. Leandra says:

That little pig comment was so overblown. Who hasn’t yelled at their kids? Alec Baldwin is intelligent and a good actor.

  6. Amy says:

Even my neo-con husband adores Baldwin because he’s just so damn awesome on 30 Rock! We’d invite Alec over to dinner anytime. 🙂

  7. jessiee says:

I think Kim Basinger is the unbalanced one there. I’d take Alec in a heartbeat.

  8. Persistent Cat says:

There’s a couple my husband would totally be down with swapping.

I just bought a crazy-ass expensive Louis Vuitton bag and to distract him, every day our computer wallpaper is a different cleave shot of Salma. She’s gorgeous and I can’t be annoyed with him for lusting after her, who wouldn’t?

And as the song goes, I’ll always love him. If a camera or tape recorder followed me all day long, oh my would I not come off well. I love him and I love Jack Donaghy.

  9. mark says:

The abuse episode of his daughter was extremely disturbing and inappropriate. Listen to it and if you can’t say the same then there’s something seriously wrong with you.

  10. SeVen says:

Good looking, smart and talented. I’ll have one please, with a side of hell yes. Thank you.

  11. Dirty Martini says:

Oh ALec…every woman you don’t have is “the most fabulous ever”….until you get her. THen you’re just the guy that’s tired of her $hit

  12. lanette says:

snapping at a kid is one thing but to call your kid a pig..?? no that is not cool…and all of you people defending his ass would not be saying if it if it were some other entertainers verbally abusing their child. let’s see what if it were say Tom Cruise, what about Angelina Jolie, or let’s see, say if it was Miley Cyrus’ dad…none of you would be defending these people and you smucks know it. Now lets see who will admit that…

A nice positive story. Yay! 😀

  14. Ter says:

lanette – Some people do indeed get a pass and some get accusations thrown at them if they breath wrong. I will say this * Alec is extreme, complex, intelligent, passionate, and yes, abusive, but damn he makes me laugh. He is a talent to be reckoned with. *

  15. Syko says:

Lanette, if you’re going to call your fellow posters schmucks, at least spell it right.

I’ve called my kids much worse names than “pig”. And you know what? They all grew up happy, healthy, and they like me. Huh.

  16. gg says:

Yes, Salma is pretty damn fabulous all right! 😀 Love her!

  17. Jessica says:

Ive been called worse things than “pig” by my parents. Try “an embarrassment” “not talented” “a waste”… and if I don’t see my parents, they don’t get upset by it. They are indifferent. I’d much rather they’d skitz it at me and call me a pig for not coming to see them….

Seriously, anyone who thinks that “pig” is the worst thing you could say, doesn’t have children. Parents say worse things all the time! Its a part of parenting. Duhh! Get over it already.
