I think he is pretty sure this is the woman for him since he's only had a series of girlfriends in the past. She's not my favorite person, but they may have a good relationship. I don't think she would marry easily after her past failed relationships, so they both feel positive enough to go forward. About the child custody issue, I do not think she should try to keep her daughter away from the father. She cared for him enough to stay with him five years, so what does that say? He's the rightful father and he needs to have access to his daughter, even if she has moved on. Taking the daughter out of the country would create a difficult situation for him.
