I agree. They may not see what she sees in him but I think he is good looking. He may not be as famous but they have plenty of money. Plus he seems like a devoted husband and father. I remember an interview where she said he framed all his love notes for their anniversary or something and I thought it was so sweet and touching. I love thoughtful gifts like that. Way better than what money can buy.

So glad Im not the only one. I don’t have kids and thought thats why all the “kissing the prego belly” pics irked me but I guess Im not alone. It just feels over the top.

Ugh to the Avatar news. I didn’t think it was that great – visually and technologically it was, but as far as the story itself…eh. Seems odd that a fairly visionary filmmaker would want to limit themselves to that world only now.

James Cameron said he wasn’t interested in “producing” other people’s movies anymore. And yes, he will be concentrating on making Avatar 2, 3, and maybe 4.
However, no matter how megalomaniac Cameron truly is, he does great movies! He takes the cinematography technology and make it advance by giant steps and bounds. Losing himself in the subject du jour, until he has absolutely exhausted that obsession.
I for one have no shame in admitting that I absolutely loved Avatar. But to truly appreciate the experience, the first time you ever see that movie, you should ABSOLUTELY make sure that the theater has proper equipment, with the specialized lens. It was magical. And made you feel like a child in wonderland. Or Pandora. Otherwise, the experience would have been meh.

Having amazing imagery can take a movie only so far. The narrative for Avatar was nothing but a bore. It’s a story that has been told before. Having a good story always comes first. Avatar was an OD on graphics and technology. I can’t say the same about T2, for example. Great story and killer visual effects.

When I finally saw Avatar I could not fathom what all the talk was for. The visuals were stunning but after that there was NOTHING. The story was not original. Saw that story on Star Trek. And they did it better. Same with Inception. Twilight Zone. Nothing original about either of them.
I think people get sort of brainwashed. they hear that a film is brilliant and they go along. Even if somewhere inside they are thinking what am I not seeing that everyone else is. Same when people scream a movie is Bad. the brainwashing begins. People hear and believe.
Avatar was a completely boring story. Like I said. Watch Star Trek or Twilight Zone.

@Maguita: This was Kiss the Dead. I don’t think it was as good as the previous one, but better than the most recent stuff. I’m not sure there’s really a plot, it’s really more a device for some sex scenes, Anita figuring out her personal life,and some violence.

I find the whole celebrity-baby thing so ridiculously cheesy. Women have been giving birth since time immemorial and continue to do so. Yet when a celebrity does it it’s just so damn precious and each one acts like it’s the second coming of Jesus. Over it.

I don’t know. I think it is the public that does that. Heck I love babies. Love looking at them and smelling that baby smell. I love seeing if they look like their parents or not. And that is not just with celebs. I work with a lot of women and when they have a baby everyone goes crazy to see it. They bring that baby in the office and I swear it is like a homing signal. Everyone comes out to ohhh and awww. That really is no different then celebrities and their children. We like seeing what their babies look like. And if they are both pretty famous the interest is doubled. Plus on some weird note we want to see if they have an ugly baby too.
There is that fascination. It didn’t start today or 7 years ago. It has been around forever. My mother talked of when Lucille Ball and Desi had their children. She said she bought the magazines and did the same with other celebs. So nothing new. I think if people don’t like it they don’t have to buy the mags or look at the kids.

Hollywood couples usually want to give their kids a name that’ll make an impression. So I suggest they name their child Satan. Now I know the name carries a little bit of baggage but if you can put that to the side it’s actually quite a nice name and would definitely make a lasting impression on people.

Old wives tale states that If the bump is low it is a boy. But ive heard the opposite as well. The general consensus where I live is that low=boy. I carried both of my babies low (girl and boy) I’m gonna guess boy. BAG just looks like a man that would make boys. Silly assumption, I know.
