Life Insurance and deceased's debts and/or monies left specifically are two different things. Beneficiary, end of story. As a spouse, you are entitled to spouse's debt's as well as money. Pay the mortgage Barbara or sell and downsize. Quit clogging up the courts w/ frivolous lawsuits. Ran, I agree. No one takes her seriously anymore. I can't imagine that any of that money was intended to go to the spouse - if so, the insurance policy would have been divided up that way.
