I love bell-bottoms. Skinny jeans are ok but they don’t look good on everyone especially me lol

    • Kellybean says:

I would go even further to say that skinny jeans don’t look good on MOST people. Only a select few can really get away with wearing them.

I love flare and bell-bottom jeans. That’s all I wear. I hope they make a comeback so they will be easier to find this fall and winter.

      • Amanda G says:

I totally agree! I love flared jeans and hope they make a comeback soon. They are the only jean that compliment my figure. Alba looks really cute there.

Skinny jeans only look good on a thin, petite figures and most people who wear them DO NOT have that figure. And men look even worse in them.

      • RocketMerry says:

I agree. Most girls my age here in Italy are pin thin (skinny with some muscles is really going strong this year as far as body trends go) and they are ALL wearing those hideous jeggings/skinny-jeans ALL the time (when they are not wearing the inguinal short shorts: ew): it looks horrible even on those skinny b*tches.

    • Erinn says:

See I can’t wear flared jeans because I’m so short they make my calves look weird.

      • normades says:

I’m very thin but apple shaped and can’t pull off high waist/boot legged styles. If you’re short they look awful too.

Please let skinny jeans stay in style for a while!!!

    • Kiyoshigirl says:

I totally agree! The fashion industry has been cramming skinny jeans down our throats for the past three or four seasons, but their time will also fade.

I have a few pair of jeans with a pronounced bell like these and I LOVE them. They look great with a Tee and even better with tunics. I see her jeans as more of a flare than a typical “bell bottom” anyway.

  2. Bobo says:

I love those jeans! She looks so cute!

  3. TheOriginalKitten says:

    LOVE.
I know so many Celebitches adore the skinny jeans but I COVET flares and bellbottoms.
I think it’s a generational thing-people who were born in the late 80s/90s love 80s fashion but my generation (born late 70s/early 80s) tend to like this style more. Even boot-cut is better than the skinny jeans imo (although skinnies are great for tucking into boots).

Now don’t yell at me if you’re in your 30s and love skinny jeans-I’m just saying, most of my friends miss the bells! 🙂

    • OriginalTiffany says:

All right, so you all know about my denim addiction. I have so many flares, wide leg, bells AND skinnies. I wear all of them.
I like skinnies in winter because the bottoms don’t get wet and you can tuck into boots. In Cali, I usually wear flares or bells.

Sigh, I love jeans. I actually do not own proper pants anymore, if I need trousers the dark wash wide legs come out to play.

    • Chatcat says:

Kit and Tiff…my two fave CB’s! It is so nice to share style stories with you. I have to admit, being the age that I am; I have done many a pair of bell bottoms in my younger days (70’s). And seeing Jessica in them is making me really nostalgic and glad they are coming back!

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

Hey OTiff-I feel like I haven’t seen you around here for a while. How’s things?

Completely agree with you about jeans-love them. I have to dress *fancy* for work but I get so excited on the weekends for my jeans. Either jeans or a house dress/*mumu* if it’s hot out 🙁 Yeah, it’s basically like a simple dress thing (I have many of them) that I put on when I get home from work-it’s not cute. At all. But it’s comfy so WGAF? 🙂

Hi Chat! I just left you a comment on one of your K-Stew posts.

      • OriginalTiffany says:

Kit, OMG! I love a good mumu, I get mine in Kauai. Full house dress. Chatcat-missed you too! I was weirding out about ten days ago, I didn’t see you posting but someone named chattycat was. WTF?
I’ve been so busy! We just did a NYC trip and got back a couple hours ago. We went to Radio City to see Zarkana before they move to Vegas and believe it or not, my first time in NYC!
Was so great, after we sat in Bryant park and had a drink with everyone outside on chairs and swings and watched the olympics on a big screen. An amazing warm night in the city.
I’m prepping to move out of Boston and into DC. I’ve been hitting the gym hard as well. (I have to live in Miami in Jan/Feb-must get totally fit. It SUCKS to hang with all the artists in Cirque at the beach if you aren’t fit, you know?
This week is luggage week, then we have a week off and premiere in DC. Soooo, a couple busy weeks equals no Tiff time here.
I get all melancholy without my daily fix on CB:)

Plus, the Robsten thing has me just freaking cringing inside. It’s freaking me out, weird damn fans.

Anyway, my 150 pairs of denim, gazillion shoes and purses all have to be packed. My husband is always amazed at the crap I have with me.

What else is great about jeans? They are always in style and they last forever if properly cared for. Now that I don’t have to live in scrubs, I live in jeans:)

    • Bobo says:

I’m 33yrs young and I think the only jeans that look good on me is bell bottom-flared jeans.Maybe it’s my legs I don’t know but flared is all I buy. P.S. Never owned a pair of skinnys. Would’nt look right on me.

    • BeccaZ says:

I’m not a fan of the wide, wide bells but these are nice and restrained. I’m also a fan of the flare or boot cut. I’ll take bells over pegged jeans any day. Why did we think that was a good idea? But I also wore three watches at the same time during the 80s and thought myself awesome. I was a kid, what can I say?

But yes, closer fitting jeans do work better with boots. I’m in Chicago. I have some knee-high Bogs that I wear during winter. A baggier jean wouldn’t fit inside them.

OriginalK, I covet your closet…and I haven’t even seen it!

    • Agnes says:

me too! LOVE flares and bell-bottoms!

    • Mitch Buchanan Rocks! says:

You got it – I remember as a kid wearing plaid with apples bell bottoms my fave pants at the time.

  4. NeNe says:

Too bad her personality doesn’t match her looks. She is gorgeous. Personality, not soo much!!

  5. idk says:

She pulls the bell bottoms off really well. She is such a pretty girl ! But, to be honest, she lacks real talent. If it wasn’t for her face and body, we wouldn’t know who she is.

  6. Xxxx says:

I think i’d wear a tighter shirt with those jeans.

  7. RuddyZooKeeper says:

Ugh, I look like a fat fool in bell bottoms and flares. But she is rocking these! I do want that top, however. Immediately, please.

  8. lisa2 says:

I think Jessica has really wonderful casual style. I like almost everything she wears. It always looks like what anyone can wear. I give her props on that. Never over done.

I will say if she did a clothing line.. I would totally buy it. But it probably wouldn’t be in my size normal.

  9. lucy2 says:

I too prefer flared to skinny jeans.

“Call me crazy, but I think I want Steven Tyler’s blouse.” This statement made me giggle.

  10. mar says:

I really like how she dresses. Too bad she is so beyond boring as a celeb and an even worse actress.

    • Mia 4S says:

+1. Now it seems she pretty much just lives off selling baby products and pimping out photos of her kids. Yuck.

Nice to see Michael Caine proving again why he is among the very finest! He was heartbreakingly good in Dark Knight Rises.

  11. XOxoXO says:

Yeah that kangaroo situation was ridiculous. Someone always has to smooth over her gaffes or issue explanations for her.

  12. madpoe says:

Courtney Stodden + reality = words that shouldn’t be used in a sentence…on earth…now its certain the dead will walk the earth, crap.

  13. mk yarwood says:

I still wear the serious flare. Never gave up some of my 90’s seventies revival fashion. I even have my lace ankle socks. Anyway, I really wish Jessica was a bette actress. I have an irrational love of her (but not of her baby shit shilling)

  14. georgiagrl says:

She is one of the best dressers around. PERIOD! Did she make VF best dressed list?

  15. Lisa says:

Those bossip comments make my head hurt.

  16. TG says:

I love bootcut and slight flares. What I do is I buy the flares and get them taken in a bit since I think most of those celebs look stupid in the flares that cover their fee and dragging on the ground. I have been buying a bunch of that style since it has been popular the past year, but since I am only 5’4″ I get the circumfrence and of course the lengh taken in to match my proportions.

    • M says:

Wait — you can get the circumference of the legs taken in, too?

I’m just under 5 feet tall with small waist/bigger hips and just discovered that tailors can take in the waist on pants…it’s expensive but fits me so much better than pants that are just hemmed!

      • Kosmos says:

If you can find a good alterations person, they are a lot less expensive than actual tailors, who also make suits. Yes, they can take in the circumfrence of the legs, but only slightly, and from the inside seam only. They have to taper that up to the very top of the inside leg.

  17. Kosmos says:

For those who cannot wear flares, you can wear a boot cut jean, with a slight flare, if you do not want skinnies. I can wear all types, but when I wear flares, it looks best if I wear some kind of platform shoe or sandal. Skinnies do get tiring, so its good to have variety.

  18. Billy says:

She looks cute. I thought she was a sourpuss until I saw that she’d started a company that is cruelty-free. Totally changed how I viewed her. Didn’t expect her to give that much of a rip about the environment, not sure why. Refreshing surprise.

  19. Jordan says:

I think the whole outfit is cute and compliments each other. If she had worn a tank or some skimpy little shirt, the jeans would not have looked as good.

  20. Ailine says:

I think flares and bell bottoms are harder than skinny jeans to wear. If you have big hips and a big butt, flares only make them look bigger. You also have make sure they are long enough to hit the foot properly. I like the look, but boot cut and skinnies are my favorite.

  21. Bea says:

I think flares and bell bottoms are just as difficult to wear as skinny jeans. Especially when your are really thin, like me, jeans with slim thighs and a huge flare make you look ridiculous, like one of those horses with fur covering their hoofs… And curvy, heavier women mostly look even heavier in bell bottoms, I don’t think they are flattering at all.
I think a fitting, regular boot cut is the best for most women out there.

  22. Mila says:

Flares, bell botoms, boot cut are not for me. They make me look bigger. Skinny jeans and straight leg jeans all the way. We are all built diffrently.
