  2. H says:

Well that’s a pay raise, if I’ve ever seen one. Get that money Jennifer.

  3. lucy2 says:

That looks awesome! And the cast is spectacular.

  4. Ming says:

With his “yo bro !”-jeans, dat Lincoln is just like you ‘n me.

They don’t make politicians like that anymore. So much swag.

  5. Chatcat says:

“Did a bronze medal make this dude get… uh, “excited”?”

How the hell do you deny that photographic evidence? Didn’t he learn from KLewd pictures don’t lie!

    • Jag says:

They shouldn’t make them wear shorts like that if getting excited is a problem. Why can’t they wear non-skin-tight clothes to row?

  6. Bubulle says:

DDL strikes again . Love him.

  7. Genevieve says:

Maybe because I was an impressionable teen when “Last of the Mohicans” came out- or maybe just because I’m female, but…

I have rarely seen a man as breast-clutchingly SEXY as DD-L as Hawkeye. OH. MY. GOD.

    • Ducky La Rue says:

I’ll second that. 🙂 That’s the role that does it for me, too!

    • TQB says:

Third! Jesus, that was hot. Need to rewatch, stat.

    • Bodhi says:

Fourth! I freaking LOVE that movie. DDL is amazing(ly hot), but the Blue Ridge Mountains are just as much a part of it & oh how I love them

  8. Reece says:

Wow, just Wow! I’m really excited about this movie! He looks awesome!
Jennifer carried Hunger Games almost entirely herself. Good for her!

A Kardashian may be getting a legit occupation, of their own accord, not stemming from their sister’s sex life? Whaaat?

  9. mia girl says:

One unforeseen upside to DDL’s method approach to this role is his kids must have blown away their teacher/classmates when they brought in dad as their American History project.

  10. cupidityrox! says:

    Wow. Uncanny resemblance.
    Go Jennifer Lawrence!
Maddox is the luckiest eleven year old
    Adrianne Curry’s still news?

  11. Incredulous says:

Lance Henriksen played Lincoln before. Look up pictures, Lance is Lincoln without a beard. Uncanny.

  12. Erinn says:

My boyfriend grew up with minibikes and dirtbikes, and now has a motorcycle. He’s one of the few around here that drive like a responsible adult. I’m officially jealous of an 11 year old boy.

I want a motorcycle. I don’t have a car though, and unfortunately, I have to be responsible because the Nova Scotia weather isn’t going to let me get more than a couple months of bike-as-main-transportation weather in a year 🙁

    • Amy says:

It sounds like you and I have the same boyfriend!

People drive so crazy that I’m terrified to ride in populated areas. It’s a small consolation that he’s so safe and responsible and can react quickly to other people’s (deadly) irresponsibility.

    • Michelle says:

I grew up in a moto-cross family, and this is so not a big deal as long as he is taught to ride right. My brother got his first dirt bike at age 4!! Having grown up around this, and being forced to spend my weekends as a 6 year old camping out at the track, covered in dirt and eating Little Debbies, when all I wanted to do is play with my Barbies… I have no desire to ever get on a bike. Not to mention all the injuries I saw.. My dad’s best friend broke his collar bone during a race once. Ouch!!!

  13. Maritza says:

I bet DDL gets an oscar for this role! He is definitely way up there as good as Meryll Streep.

  14. Little Darling says:

Just made my day seeing The Jesus and Mary Chain with quick links to two of my favorite songs by them. Can they do any wrong? Rock GODS. 🙂

  15. Katyusha says:

It’s really strange to see Abe Lincoln in jeans sitting at a cafe table. With a giant glass of tea in the foreground.

    • NYC_girl says:

It’s kind of a freaky picture, right? I was just thinking the same thing. All it needs is him yapping into a cell phone.

  16. lisa2 says:

Maddox was the original badass celeb kid. He will always be #1 for me.

good for Jennifer.. strike while the iron is hot.

and regarding penis gate. IT is not erect. It is just in the upright position. Erect would be more pointing at at you.. MY input so to speak.

too early for Oscar talk. There are some really good movies coming out in 2013. I’m really excited for a lot of performances. Abe Lincoln is my favorite President. So I will see it for that reason first.

regarding penis gate.. I don’t think it is erect. it is just in the upright position. Instead of being “cradled” If it was erect it would be more pointing in your direction.

Just my impute so to say.

  17. Tia says:

Daniel day lewis is hot, lol even as Lincoln he is hot 😀

  18. Amandahugandkiss says:

    OMG, DDL as Abraham Lincoln…hot!

But not as hot as Jesus and Mary Chain making more music!

  19. RHONYC says:

he does look uncanny. i’ll watch it as long as he isn’t hunting f*cking vampires. worst movie premise ev-er! 🙄

    • Genevieve says:

      ^^ This!

    • Colin Sullivan says:

Get used to it. The movies are dying a slow and undignified death. With each passing year the standard gets lower. It’s sad.

      • hairball says:

Totally agree. I barely go to the movies anymore – have no interest in what they put out.

    • Colin Sullivan says:

Me either. I look through the papers in the cinema guide and there’s simply nothing in there I want to see. The same goes for the video shop. I’m walking in and out without getting anything on a regular basis these days. I’ve even taken to rewatching old favourites on DVD just to remind me of when movies were actually good.

      • lisa2 says:

If people are honest it is not true that great films are not being made. There are amazing movies released each year. Thing is people don’t go and support those films. They turn out in droves for remakes and action hero films. Popcorn movies or they flock to a film because everyone says it great and they are just following the crowd. And then they complain that there are not good movies.

I love the movies. Love good movies. and I support them. I wont’ go to the movies to see some cheesy Rom/Com or overly hyped action film. Sometimes the viewer has to actually get off their butts and looks and go to find those quality films. They may be playing on just a few screens and they maybe hard to find. But they are out there.

so all the talk about there not being quality movies being made is just a copout for people that are too lazy to find them.

    • Colin Sullivan says:

Wow. You’ve made a lot of assumptions in your thoughtless and insulting post. I subscribe to a movie magazine that I receive every month and it informs me about everything that is being released at the movies and on DVD for the month ahead. I also receive weekly emails from the publisher of the magazine telling me about the latest developments in the movie industry. On top of that I spend a lot of time reading about films on the net and I thoroughly read the program guide when my home town hosts its annual international film festival. So to say that I’m too lazy to find quality films is just plain wrong. My point stands. The film industry is in decline. On this topic I just reserved a copy of the following new book at my library. I think I’ve found a kindred spirit:

  20. Aqua says:

You don’t see DDL in to many movies but when you do,he’s phenomenal. No one even comes close to him.

  21. Miffy says:

To be fair, DDL could play Oprah and f*cking nail it. The man is just gifted.

  22. Natalina says:

when does the trailer for lincoln come out? DDL is HOT (for an old guy)

  23. Chatcat says:

DDL is my fave actor/celeb/man. He is the one I’d probably break all the rules for. Will watch him in anything and love it.

    • Meadowlark says:

I’ve been obsessed with DDL for so long… It really scared my mom when I was eight talking about how I love 40 something year old man.

      • Mira says:

Finally! Here’s my man! I’m obsessed with DDL and I hate that I’m catching up on CB posts at the end of the day! I can’t wait for the trailer. I can’t wait to listen to DDL’s Abe voice. The man’s a beast!! I’m also torn between rooting for Joaquin (I love him), PSH and DDL for the Oscars. This will be a testing year for me 😛

  24. Hubbahun says:

Ugh.. “And the award for pretentious scenery chewing goes to…” I surely can’t be the only one who thinks he’s seriously overrated??

  25. hairball says:

WOW – what a transformation. I am forever touched by DDL when he was on Oprah via satellite being interviewed like the next day or so after Heath Ledger died.

He was genuinely upset by the passing and basically interrupted the interview to say he just couldn’t act as if nothing had happened and said some heart-felt words about him.

  26. Vic says:

    Joaquin will cut a b-

    • normades says:

Yea, team The Master over this Lincoln shizz!

      • Issa says:

Both will be excellent. Didn’t know they were in competition? This isn’t fanboy versus fanboy. We get two great movies this year.

    • Eve says:

I’ve read A LOT of praise for Joaquin Phoenix’s performance in “The Master” (apparently, P.T. Anderson screened the movie to a few lucky critics). One of them mentioned that his only competition (for the Academy Award) is D.D. Lewis as Lincoln — if he delivers what’s expected from him (which he usually does).

      http://collider.com/the-master-reviews-reactions/186414/

But — given that the Academy voters LOVE biographical roles — D.D. Lewis will be the strongest contender, unfortunately. He already has two Oscars, but Phoenix pissed a lot of people with that mockumentary, and you can bet most scientologists will vote against “The Master” in every category they can.

I’ve already said here that the Academy should create another category — for actors in biographical roles. I’m tired of seeing — for the past ten years — most awards being given to actors who play this type of role. I know it’s incredibly difficult to portray someone real…but even more difficult? Make someone who has never existed “real”.

      • Mira says:

DDL’s performance has to be one of its kind to fetch him his third Oscar. The third Oscar is not going to easy but DDL is a favorite among the Academy members. Only Meryl won three best actor Oscars so far? I’m guessing this will be more on the lines of Thatcher – good performance but bad movie. I don’t trust Spielberg. I’m waiting to see both movies before I start rooting for either of them.

As for Joaqiun pissing people off, come on, he was brilliant. I saw the episode of him on Letterman last night and it’s f-cking hilarious. I saw it thrice in fact. I don’t understand how most didn’t get it. It was obvious, non? Sometimes I don’t understand the American sense of humor. They find the most OTT sex-jokes funny but dismiss some really good ones like Joaquin’s movie.

      • Eve says:

Oh, I thought he was brilliant too. In a way that ONLY someone that talented could be (even *I* wasn’t certain that was a hoax — and I’m a natural born cynic).

But I’m thinking about this objectively — he pissed a lot of people in the industry, they didn’t get it was a joke and they didn’t like being played. Phoenix had been “grounded” for three years before he signed on to The Master. Plus, there are sciento-freaks who can vote in many categories. I don’t think they’ll enjoy this movie.

I admit I’m already rooting for him without even watching the movie. Phoenix has yet to disappoint me with his performances, it’s unlikely he’ll do that now.

      • Mira says:

I see what you are saying, Eve but how difficult is it to let go and laugh once you realize that he was faking it all? I understand people were pissed that they got played but whatever happened to hollywood’s sense of humor? Anyway I missed him. I’m glad he is back with The Master and the Sci freaks can go to hell if they veto him for an Oscar. He’s the best actor of his generation. There’s no argument about that. I guess his only competition would have been River had he been alive.

  27. Angel says:

Wow, he looks great, crazy likeness.

  28. alexis says:

    This…feeeels so right.

  29. Hakura says:

While I always try to mind my manners in polite company,..But my thought first seeing the DDD Abe:

    “Holy shit” 0_o

    • Hakura says:

(Oops! Comment cut half out. Sorry for the repost!

I Mustn’t at my most eloquent, apparent;y. How incredibly weird to see Abe in blue jeans.

  30. Ranunculus says:

The “I drink your milkshake” scene is still one of my fav of all the movies I have ever seen. DDL and the very talented Paul Dano (what is he doing now?). I think Dano was only cast in this role a week before shooting, because the other actor was so intimidated by DDL crazy method acting that he had to be replaced. Seen some of the interviews with PTA and DDL and honestly DDL comes across as pretty nuts and full of himself. He threw a real bowling ball at Dano BTW.

  31. salamanca says:

    Wow, Lincoln alive.
    Amazing.

  32. Ravensdaughter says:

Cannot wait!-although he will get passed over for Best Actor by the Academy ‘cuz he as two Oscars already. What a popularity contest!

  33. Ainsley says:

I had doubts about this movie when I first heard about it. It seemed like an almost impossible role to pull off with so many people expecting so much out of it. If anyone can do it, it’s DDL. He’s a phenomenal actor. Can’t wait!
