It just struck me as I was looking through these photos of last night’s LA premiere of The Apparition: Ashley Greene is the brunette Blake Lively. A pretty girl who is all hustle and hype, with not that much substance. We can bicker about the levels of hustle and hype, for sure – Blake Lively is superior in that sense, mostly because of the dudes she dates. But there are lots of comparisons to be made between Ashley Greene and Blake Lively. Sidenote: I will also accept comparisons of Ashley to Kellan Lutz!
Anyway, Ashley has been dying to be a full-fledged movie star for a while. You may know her from the Twilight franchise (don’t ask me who she plays – somebody with a really awful wig, right?), and from her infamous statement in which she compared herself to Angelina Jolie… because she was in a love triangle with Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas. For real. Anyway, just like with Blake Lively, I kind of admire Ashley’s hustle. She works hard at her celebrity status. She wants it. This is what she’s been working for: to the biggest “name” on a red carpet, at her own starring vehicle (a budget-looking horror flick).
So how does Ashley perform when it’s her turn to shine? It’s not bad, actually. I kind of love this Donna Karan Atelier dress. It even looks like something Blake Lively would wear – but I think I might like it more on Ashley, a brunette. It really compliments her coloring, and I love the lipstick choice. She has really nice hair too, although I personally would like to see her go a few shades darker. Ashley is the face of Donna Karan these days – I wonder if Donna made this dress for her, or if Ashley just had her pick of the best Donna Karan frocks? Either way, this look is a winner for me.
PS… The one thing I dislike is the too-big cocktail ring. I think it’s a cabochon sapphire (with matching earrings)? It seems gaudy.

God, how do you guys guess these blind items so accurately? I barely even knew blinds other than the kind that go on windows even existed until last month.
I actually do believe she had a nose job. It just seems a little too harsh(?) and sharp to be real.

Anyways:
- Love the hair. Cascading, shiny, soft-looking, CLEAN (KS take note, and sexy without looking like she’s trying too hard.
- Love the dress. Such a pretty color, it really suits her.

Actually, I don’t. I usually suck at guessing blind items (most of the time). But sometimes it’s just too obvious. Especially when the writer sort of reveals the answers.
When I read that one by Lainey I guessed the director right away. That HAD to be Michael Bay (not even Brett Ratner is that disgusting).

The dress is okay (for a bridesmaid) – really, it’s not too bad. She reminds me of a young Cindy Crawford (as opposed to Joan Crawford)

I suppose if you are going by the healthy body and thick, shiny hair, then yes, she could be compared to Cindy Crawford. Facewise, not even close, especially when Ashley has the most artificial-looking nose job in Hollywood. Jessica Biel’s nose takes second place. Maybe they went to the same crappy surgeon? At least Ashley hasn’t messed with her lips.
That shade of pink looks great with her skin tone.

Lainey wasn’t very subtle (is she ever?) when she outed Greene as the answer to that “thin for nothing” riddle. On a “Smutty tingle” headline she posted: “Ashley Greene dresses down just the way Michael Bay likes it”.

ORLY – even after reading what you linked to, I just can’t believe her nose was made by nature. It seems so impossible.

What I like about her: she’s not out boozing, driving into people with her car, constantly tweeting bikini pics of herself, she seems not to hook up with every costar she bumps into, stays (except when she’s promoting something or appearing in a magazine) FAIRLY well under the radar — she just wants to work and “be famous.” More power to her. In a sea of effed up starlets, she actually seems pretty stable.

Ashley looks beautiful. I love her hustle. She doesn’t hide or pretend that she’s not hustling and I love it and adore it. She keeps it real. She wants the fame and she’s going after it and there’s no shame in that because I don’t think she’s doing it in an obnoxious way. Blake Lively is accurate.

Nah she’s more Jessica Biel than Blake Lively. No matter how hard she tries she never quite pulls it off, and is totally oblivous to the fact that she hasn’t pulled it off. Kinda wish Pattison would end up with her though. I don’t think she’d get caught in a mini with a director.

Ok first, i dont really care about Ashley. I love Blake, not for her acting but for her good looks, great body, fabulous clothes and A-list boyfriends but even I know that you can NEVER compare Ashley to Blake. Ash is not the greatest actress but Blake can not act to save her own life

I love the dress! And I just realized that she looks like a young Elizabeth Perkins (especially in the earring pic). Also, I’m glad to see she regained her muscular (but, let’s be honest–really svelte) frame.

Whatever…it *does* seem to suit her. As far as her otherwise, I haven’t seen any of the Twilight movies. I only know who she is because the guy who runs Idontlikeyouinthatway.com is obsessed with her. Lol She could be the next Blake Lively, if only she slept with a high powered studio head, had an affair with a married actor on location, sent nude pics, and gave interviews how much she loves to bake/has only had 3 boyfriends.

No comparison, Kaiser… Blake is head and shoulders above this in terms of style, career, talent, looks, endorsements and potential. An Ashley/Kellan comparison is more like it… two attractive, relatively unmemorable and mediocre actors who are milking their association with the Twilight franchise to beat the band. She does look pretty in this dress, tho…
