I don't like either of them, but I feel bad for Heidi. Spencer makes me absolutely NAUSEOUS!!! He's a classic abuser, not in the physical sense, but he just likes the idea of having power over someone. My ex was exactly like him - he wasn't always a bad guy, in fact we had some really great times which is what kept me around for so long. But he also made me feel like crap about myself a lot of the time, and I felt like I was always having to prove myself. Anyone who tried to point out to me that he wasn't a good guy got cut out of my life at his insistence that they weren't really friends (he could always point out SOMETHING they had done to prove that, forget that he probably had done the same or worse). By the end of five years, I had no friends, didn't speak to my family, and had no sense of self worth at all. He never once hit me, so anyone telling me he was abusive was just absurd in my mind. I don't consider myself to be stupid, but he had backed so far into a corner with no one (or so I thought) to turn to, that I really felt like I needed him to prove I was worth anything. And no one can help out a woman in that situation until they are ready to admit that the relationship they are in isn't healthy b/c until you can admit it yourself, you really believe everyone else is just against you.
