I mean if you’re going to have unprotected sex with someone you should know what consequences you might have to deal with later on. I sort of kind of really really minimally feel bad for Kris. Everyone’s swinging at him left and right (probably in relation to Kim) for such irrelevant things. Like oh, 2 years later you decided to let him know via the media and your lawyer that he gave you herpes?

Belly is right, Eve. My sister is a nurse and unfortunately my daughter has it. An infected person is always contagious, even if you don’t see bumps, blisters or lesions. Whatever research you and your friend have done, please do more and find a more reliable source. It’s also best she tell her partner up front and let them decide whether or not to take the chance. Even with protection, it’s risky.
Molly – He seems special to me, too. I don’t know if it’s the wideset eyes or the fact that with any expresion, he just LOOKS like his bulb is dim. The dumb things he’s done don’t help.

While I do think it’s shameful to knowingly expose a person to herpes or any other such illness without informing them, the stigma that goes along with not only herpes but all STD’s is so incredibly pointless and detrimental. The stigma of herpes is nowhere near proportional to the actual severity of the disease. My ex had herpes and I managed not to catch it, largely because he had the courage to tell me and take as many preventative measures as possible, but the stigma itself caused him immense anxiety about telling me, he felt cornered by it and almost had a nervous freaking breakdown trying to decide if he wanted to tell me or just stop dating me and disappear out of fear. It’s not fair that people have to go through this over something that gives you sores not much more painful than ingrown hairs.

@Eve – I’m sorry about your friend, but some of the information you have is incorrect. I CAN be passed on in the absence of an outbreak, via viral shedding. If your friend thinks she isn’t contagious because she doesn’t have any lesions she is wrong.
Also, you can test positive to the antibodies during a latent phase. There are different antibodies – IgM usually present during an outbreak/symptomatic period, IgG after that.
Your friend still needs to tell partners, even when asymptomatic.

The timing of her outbreak and dalliance are not impossible, even though unusual, and the disease can be transmitted without obvious signs in the partner. But there are four other men named in the suit as John Doe 1-4 because she doesn’t even know where they are now. And unless she was tested at least several weeks after her last encounter before she did it with Kris – there is no way for her to know that she was herpes-free before yet again having sex with a random stranger without at least insisting on a condom.

It’s pretty obvious that she’s going after Kris because she knows how to contact him due to the publicity and she knows he has a lot of money, so an out of court settlement is likely to get her a lot of cash. Money is the only possible motivation for such a peculiar suit, herpes isn’t fun but obviously she has been risking getting it for a long time before she met Kris in 2010. But I can’t see how it would have any chance at all in court- they didn’t have a long-term relationship, it was a casual and very brief encounter. And if he has tested negative recently, the case is pretty weak. But even if he’s positive, it still is weak because the causal link is so weak.

I do suspect a K Klan connection because of the timing – they seem especially desperate to not do full financial disclosure. But this encounter occurred before he met Kim so I can’t see how it would scare him. I also can’t believe that Kimmie would have selected Kris H as her patsy if he didn’t come up clean as the proverbial whistle in a pre-phoney engagement & wedding health check. Odds are that Mama Ten Percent checked out more than his health, also.

Ok, this sounds fake just because of the amount of time passed between the ‘hookup’ and the ‘outbreak’. In people with EXTREMELY compromised immune systems symptoms will surface sooner- but can take 20+ days after exposure, so the 5 day thing….EXTREMELY DOUBTFUL…

Kim and Kris are both stunads but for totally different reasons….

If you have sores but it doesn’t show up in your blood stream, it does mean you *just* got it – your body hasn’t had time to build up antibodies.

facts:

men who carry herpes genes sometimes don’t show symptoms, they may not know they have it…

although likely, if you exhibit herpes after sex, COULD be you’ve had the virus for years and just now it’s becoming visible
