Jessica Simpson: ‘My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel’

I haven’t really written about Jessica Simpson in more than a month. It’s not from lack of stories – every week, the tabloids have some new story about how Jessica hates Eric or Eric hates Jessica’s diet or how Jessica is having a sexual relationship with cheesecake or whatever. Part of the reason that I took a break from Farty coverage is that I felt kind of bad for her – her postpartum life is all about losing the baby weight with a huge Weight Watchers contract hanging over her head. I got the feeling that Jessica regretted setting up her post-pregnancy weight loss expectations (50 pounds in 5 months?), and I wanted to do my part to give her some peace.

Another reason why I stopped covering Jessica? Because we barely had any new photos of her. There were some photos here and there (exclusives) of Jess going in and out of her gym, but they weren’t enough to get a sense of how much (or how little) weight she was losing. As it turns out, that’s part of Jessica’s plan. She’s been starving the paparazzi of photos lately because she’s going to do a big “reveal” on Katie Couric’s new show. Jessica gave a new interview where she discusses her weight loss and her big boobs… because of course.

Jessica Simpson knows exactly why she gained the weight she did while pregnant with her daughter Maxwell Drew.

“I let myself indulge in everything I wanted because it was the first time I was ever pregnant, and I wanted to enjoy it,” Simpson, 32, tells USA Today.

That included eating one of her faves, macaroni and cheese. But Simpson didn’t quite understand how the indulgence would affect her post-baby body. “I didn’t realize [the weight] didn’t all come off with the baby,” says Simpson.

She’s now given up many of those foods, however, while doing Weight Watchers as the company’s newest spokeswoman – she appears in the ads next week.

She hasn’t revealed her current weight, nor what she weighed at her heaviest, but says she’s lost weight each week on the program.

She also works out with personal trainer (and PEOPLE.com blogger) Harley Pasternak four or five times a week, mostly walking now, says Simpson, because, “my boobs are way too big to run at this point.”

Numbers aside, the star seems realistic. “My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel,” says Simpson. “I’m just your everyday woman who is trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, her fiancé and herself.”

Simpson, who is engaged to former NFL player Eric Johnson, will reveal her post-baby body on Katie Couric’s new show, Katie, on Sept. 10.

[From People]

God, I hear her about the boobs. People always ask why I’m not a runner – it really is because of my big boobs and my bad knees. I have to wear a minimizer AND a sports bra while working out, and that’s just for my non-running cardio. Jessica’s boobs were big to start with, and now she’s nursing so I can only imagine. Poor girl. As for everyone yelling about Jessica and how much she ate during her pregnancy – let her be. She’s paying for it now.

    Really, we hadn’t noticed…

  2. ramona says:

Hell, so she gained a lot of weight whilst preggo. If Weight Watchers called me up today and asked me to put on 50lbs, so I could be their spokesmodel and take it off again for the tidy sum of $2,000,000, I’d be happy to gorge and make it happen. I’d be delighted to accept $2,000,000 in exchange for people telling me I was chunky for a couple months.

    • hmph says:

Thank you! I don’t know why people are all “poor Jessica…she’s really struggling to lose the weight and all b/c of evil Weight Watchers”. Puh-lease. Jessica’s self-inflicted post-preg weight gain was her ticket to a $4 million WW contract. She is literally having her cake and eating it too–while scarfing down fried twinkles with one hand, she signs a lucrative diet deal with the other. And all she has to do now is deliver on the paid-for promises. Not a bad deal at all.

    • A. says:

Oh believe me, that’s a lot of money for you but she already has a lot of money. If I had a personal chef and her economy I’d be faaar from skinny. Oh how I love to eat lol! It’s more about self control, and that doesn’t come overnight. Especially when the whole world is watching you. I’m excited to see her final result though!

  3. Green_Eyes says:

Feel bad for anyone battling weight loss.. It’s not easy. I hope she looses it in a healthy way and doesn’t stress…that doesn’t help.

Having a large chest &bad knees relate to both of YOU! I was large chested to begin with and all my medication caused a large weight gain. Only good thing my bad health has done for me lately was a severe weight drop again, 70lbs in 3 1/2 months. First time ever I dropped a cup size
in my life. She’s right, don’t see how some get those huge implants… I was miserable with my natural ones… Wish her the best of luck, at least she’s honest about how hard it is to lose and real about her cravings.

    • fabgrrl says:

I could be wrong, but I believe implants are a LOT lighter and less bouncy than the real thing.

    • Evelyn says:

I feel the bad knees and boobs too. My boobs aren’t even huge (I’m 125/130 with a d) and running has always been uncomfortable, I wasn’t built for it. Or ice skating. Or gymnastics

      • KellyinSeattle says:

Evelyn; I’m the same size as you…130/size D ….I wasn’t as big until I had an 11 lb baby boy. These are double trouble for me; they are way too heavy and good bras don’t always help, though they can….I feel empathy toward Jessica because the whole word is watching her caloric intake….take your time, Jessica, and remember not everyone is meant to have an hourglass shape. As long as she is healthy that is good; she doesn’t need to strive to be perfect. I find it a big refreshing that she’s talking about her struggle instead of running and having surgery for her weight.

      • MnM says:

I totally feel you with the boobs…. I’m 5’2″ and a 32G. I weigh like 130.. sometimes I feel like all I am is a set of boobs with legs.

      • Nilber says:

I went up to a G when pregnant and they didn’t go away. I ended up having a reduction when my son was 8 months old. Easiest 12 lbs I ever lost. The funny thing is I am still a DD.

    • ol cranky says:

I ended up finally having mine reduced after a work-out gone wrong (I had to wear two extra support jog bras and still ended up pretty sore after the strap on one of them broke). For the life of me I can not fathom why anyone, aside from those getting reconstructive surgery post mastectomy, would get implants. Big boobs are a royal pain and, as they say, more than a mouthful’s a waste

  4. someone says:

you know what? not that i like her suffering to lose the weight or anything, but it is seriously nice to see a celebrity showing everyone how effin difficult it is to lose weight after a pregnancy. the number of celebs i see just bouncing back to size 0 just makes me roll my eyes because people assume this is normal for everyone, and while it may be for some it is not always the case. goddamnit, i’m not even pregnant but if i gain an extra 5 pounds it is not that easy taking it all off…everyone’s body is different. i speak from seeing people i know who have had babies trying to lose it and for many it’s been really hard.

    • janam says:

YES! I feel really sorry for poor old Jessica. She has the best personal trainers, the best chefs, and a 4 million dollar incentive to lose weight…I’m sure that she has had to work harder at this than anything before. but for her that is not saying much. She is notoriously lazy, even admitting she doesn’t even like to have to brush her teeth. If her creepy Papa Joe wasn’t pushing her to make him even more money she would have been perfectly content to stay home sitting on the couch burping and farting.

    • Canda says:

I agree, it’s obnoxious to see all the skinny-minis back to a size 2 after a month.

But, let’s be fair, none of them put on the amount of weight Jessica did. That girl was PACKING on the pounds. I won’t snark at a few dozen pounds gained during pregnancy, but she went WAY overboard.

And this “I didn’t know the weight didn’t come off when the baby was born” is a load of crap, and I don’t believe her for a second. What, she’s never heard of women having to work out after having a baby? Please!

  5. Brown says:

I feel you on the boob pain, I have Ds and these babies are no joke. I have bad knees and a bad back, so running isn’t really in the cards for me anyway, but every now and then I’ll feel a little ambitious and think “I’m going for a run!” Literally 2-3 minutes in I have to stop because of the boob pain. Even with 2 sports bras layered over each other, they still bounce and jiggle and I’d rather have my head stapled to the carpet than experience that pain voluntarily. I stick with Pilates.

    • Erinn says:

Mmm. I hear you. I found a pretty decent sports bra though- my D’s barely move even if I jump haha. That was my test when trying them on.

Unfortunately I have a bad back- arthritis at 22- so I can’t run a whole lot. But I try. I’ve started playing tennis… and had to have a robax heat wrap on my back all evening yesterday, but I’m refusing to quit any time soon.

      • Brown says:

I’m 23 with a bad back, so you’re not too far off from me! I fractured a couple of vertebrae playing soccer back in my younger days (ha) and shifted my pelvis about an inch off center. Can’t wait to see what I feel like when I’m 60!

The best exercise for people with back issues is swimming, though. I was a swimmer all my life and it’s pretty much the only thing I can do without feeling like my bones are breaking. I play on an adult league soccer team and after each practice/game I basically need a forklift and a whale tarp to carry me to my car afterward. Getting old sucks.

      • Erinn says:

        @Brown
I think mines trauma caused. I slipped a disk when I was 14, and I got pinned in a cattle trailor at 17 while loading cows, and popped a bone out of my wrist in the process. I also slammed my back and my arm into the trailor. So between the slipped disk, and the smash to the trailor, I think things just caught up to me.

I have noticed that when swimming I don’t have pain. Unfortunately I’m in a small town, and it’s hard to work and find hours that the Y is available. Right now the Tennis, and hiking are slowly getting me back in to shape. I’m willing to sacrifice SOME pain in order to get healthier overall. Right now underarmour and I are best friends.

    • cmc says:

I’m sorry to be “that girl”, but you don’t run because you don’t want to, not because of your boobs. I’m a 36DD and I run marathons. I’ll be running my fourth in less than two months (and I’ve run so many 5ks/10ks/half marathons that I don’t even keep count anymore). Yes, my bra is super heavy duty, and before I found a great bra (Lululemon’s TaTa Tamer, btw)I did have to “double bra” it.

It’s not impossible. With a proper bra, running is super fun actually. Y’all should try it!

      • Brown says:

Yes, you’re right. I don’t run because I don’t want to. I don’t want to, because it hurts. My knees, back, AND boobs. If I’m being chased by an ax murderer, THEN I’ll run.

No need to shame someone for not enjoying something that you enjoy. I don’t like to run because it’s uncomfortable to me, so I do other things instead.

      • Katie Too says:

I have a proper bra for running. In fact, I double-up. Nevertheless, my Ds prevent me from running comfortably. I think it depends on breast density and positioning as well as body proportion. My torso is very long, legs short and have a ribcage that tapers ridiculously around breast level. Generalities suck.

      • cmc says:

        @Brown

I’m sorry to hear that 🙁 I’m also sorry it sounded like I was shaming you! There’s nothing wrong with not wanting to run. I actually think it’s interesting that people need to come up with excuses for why they don’t run (vs. any other type of exercise). I don’t see anything wrong with saying “I don’t run because I don’t want to.” Especially with people like you, that exercise in other ways anyway. As a big-boobied distance runner, I always spring up to say “no! not that excuse!” when I hear it though 🙂 I’m sorry I wrote it in a way that sounded like I was shaming you, though.

      • Brown says:

No problem. 🙂 Sorry I was quick to respond, but it rubbed me the wrong way. I don’t do plenty of other things too, just for different reasons, and this article brought up running specifically. Like, I don’t do the elliptical because it’s boring, and I don’t do kettlebells because it hurts my hands, and I don’t do straight up yoga because I’m scared of accidentally farting in public.

See, I’m an equal opportunity exercise hater. 🙂

      • Migdalia says:

I know in my case I don’t WANT to run because of my large chest and and bad knees but I’m crazy so I’ll be running two 5ks next month….but everyday and recreationally its just a p.i.t.a buying an expensive sports bra and dealing with the after pain of my joints.

      • Birdix says:

I have a 32 DDD because of cysts and they are like lead weights, so much heavier than they were before cysts–there is a huge variation. Will try the tamer though, thanks for the idea.

      • Happy21 says:

They have a TaTa Tamer? I am going to buy one at lunch! That is so awesome! These days I’m wearing a regular bra with a sports bra when I attempt to go for a run!

        YAY!!

      • OriginalTiffany says:

The tata tamer is excellent, Smithers!

Except I lost a ton of weight and my boobs decided to run away…

I don’t need that much taming anymore.

      • Beth says:

Amen! I’m a 34 DD. I used to wear two (sometimes 3) sports bras while running. Then I found the enell sports bra. It’s awesome & nothing moves!

      • littlestar says:

cmc, I kind of agree with you on that! Sometimes people come up with the craziest excuses as to why they can’t run. I’m a runner too, it can be friggin’ hard some days, but it is so rewarding and worth it. I think running gets a bad rap because it’s literally one of the most difficult exercises there is. When I first started running, it took me 2 months just to be able to a run a relatively pain free 5k. My goal now is to do a couple of half marathons in the spring and summer of 2012. I’m still too scared to even contemplate doing a full marathon, so good for you for doing your fourth soon!!! 🙂

(P.S. I have small boobs, so I can’t even comment on everyones pain here, cuz I have no idea what it’s like, unforunately. Anyone willing to share some of their goods with me? Lol).

      • LeslieM says:

        You tell ’em Brown!

    • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

I’m usually a DD cup, but I’m currently sporting Gs (due to nursing), and I’ve managed to get some running in lately thanks to a VERY tight Nike sports bra (that is painful to put on). I used to double up too, but one really good one will get the job done. They’re strapped in so tight to my ribcage that sometimes I begin my workout out of breath lol. I’m starting Pilates Friday (TRX then some work on the reformer). How do you like it?

      • Brown says:

@Mort, I have this Under Armour sports bra that is seriously so tight I can’t breathe. I could probably run in that one if I absolutely had to. It’s a small. I’m a 36 D. You do the math…. DOES. NOT. COMPUTE.

Anyway, I loooove Pilates. I don’t do straight up Pilates… the class is called Pilates Fusion. It’s a blend of Pilates and Yoga and it kicks my ass every time. Lots of stretching, but also lots of core strengthening and arm/leg work. I can definitely tell a difference between when I started and now.

Still don’t look like Miley Cyrus, though. Apparently she’s doing Pilates 2.0 or something. But I’m definitely the biggest one in my class which is always a good sign. If all the skinnies are doing it, they must be onto something!

    • BRE says:

I used to wear a size E with a size 4 waist in high school and I wore 3 sports bras but then it felt like I couldn’t breath. I got a reduction and it still amazes me that people actually pay to get them that big!

      • ZigZagZoey says:

Cool! I was just gonna ask if anyone has had a reduction! I really wish I could, but I am too big of a wimp. I’ve had a bad neck/back ever since I had my son 21 years ago, and most of it is from my big boobs.
Was it awful? Painful? Worth it?(hope so!)
I wish I could just have some of them sucked out, but I know that’s not how they do it. They cut your nipples completely off and reattach them.
Also, I have a fear of getting cancer if I was ever opened up like that. (Just my own personal fear, have no idea if that really happens.)

      • BRE says:

ZigZagZoey: I won’t lie, recovery was long and painful but I have never regretted it. I no longer have back problems either. Yes there are scars but mine are really not bad at all unless you are looking at them in full light.

      • ZigZagZoey says:

Thanks BRE! ♥ It’s good to know that you have no regrets. I’ll still be thinking about it.

      • anon33 says:

ZZZ: I had a reduction, when I was 22. I am 5’1 and my bobs were a 36F. I am also fairly shortwaisted with longer legs (actually built almost exactly like Jessica) so my entire upper half looked like one giant boob shelf. I used to cry in dressing rooms because I didn’t look good in anything and nothing fit me right.
Let me just tell you-surgery sucked, it hurt like hell, and recovery sucked (I had drains-ICK.) But I have never ONCE regretted it. It was literally the best thing I have ever done for myself-I no longer have back pain and I no longer had to exclusively buy XXL shirts (even though the rest of me is a size 4.) I cannot recommend this surgery highly enough-it literally changed my life and my outlook. If you can swing the financials, I say go for it!

      • ZigZagZoey says:

Thanks anon33! I’ll have to “man~up” to get my boobs reduced! Hee!

      • Jennifer says:

I got a reduction a few years ago and experienced very little pain. It was just annoying not being able to lift anything heavy for 4+weeks. I love my new and improved boobs! They removed 5lbs -I can even go Braless! Worth every penny – just wish I did it a decade ago….

      • mayamae says:

I think Jessica would be doing herself a huge favor if she were to consider a breast reduction. Unfortunately, her image is very tied to her DDs. I’m not sure Daddy would allow it though – he
seems very preoccupied by her boobs.

      • ZigZagZoey says:

That’s good to hear Jennifer! Thanks!

    • Sandra says:

Ugh, it hurts just reading what you’re all writing. I’m a small A cup, and thankful for it! Plus I can buy my sports bras in the kids section 🙂 Unless I want something fancy, I don’t have to spend more than about $12 on a bra. I can’t imagine the expense that you all have to keep those puppies under wraps!

      • Brown says:

It is super expensive but also just a huge pain in the ass. Shirts that are not supposed to show cleavage on a normal person turn in to a titty peep show on me. Huge pet peeve: I’ll go have dinner with my parents or something and my mom (who is super tiny with small breasts) is constantly telling me to pull my shirt up because my boobs are hanging out. I’m just like dude, sorry if you’re offended, but these babies have a mind of their own…

      • anon33 says:

OMG, brown, EXACTLY. (see my comments above) I wanted to tear bitches’ hair out when they said things like that to me, as if I had a choice or something!

      • Janet says:

I’m a 34 C and used to feel jealous of more generously endowed women, but dang, after seeing all the problems big boobage can cause, I’ll stick with what I got. And oh man, the joys of going braless once in a while!

      • Isabel says:

@Brown; I completely understand what you mean. Even when I (G-cup) wear a wide sweater my boobs are still very ‘noticeable ;)’. They are either hanging out or just being big and showing through the widest sweaters I can find.

When normal boobed people would wear my clothes it’d look cute on them, when I wear it it looks slutty/vulgar/screaming for attention.

I seriously need to avoid anything pink/animal print, because I instantly look like a hookah because of ‘the girls’ xD

    • Isabel says:

I am a 36G,what works for me is wearing a normal bra with big straps over the shoulders, so it evens out the weight/pressure, then on top of that a simple (but very tight) sportsbra. It looks like I have bolt ons (aka 2 hard rocks taped to my chest xD) when I wear it, but nothing moves and that is very nice when running:)

Sometimes I really wonder why I don’t just get a reduction, would save so much discomfort, but at the same time I am afraid like hell :O
Also currently trying to lose weight, might be better to do it once I reach my goalweight, maybe they will shrink a couple of sizes when I drop some pounds 🙂

  6. IrishEyes says:

I’m a double bra-er when I work out and I can sympathize. I do run, but let’s just say my boob-wrangling regime is EXTREME. But mine are nowhere near her size (and I’m a D). I can’t even imagine.

  7. Valerie says:

I am currently a 36DD so I don’t want to even imagine how big my boobs would get it I ever got pregnant. I’d have to lug them around with a wheelbarrow! But I think Jess will be just fine.

  8. Cathy says:

    Good luck to her.

  9. vic says:

Reminds of her chicken/tuna confusion. She didn’t know 50 lbs wouldn’t magically disappear in a month? This is bull. She’s had weight issues before. Not that I think she needs to lose faster but she knew what to expect.

    • lucy2 says:

That line caught my eye too – I think she’s just playing up her dumb blonde thing. At least I hope she wasn’t so uninformed as to really expect all the weight to come off with the baby.

  10. Chrissie says:

I hear you about the boobs! I feel so self conscious when I run because I feel like everyone is probably just starring at my boobs bouncing up and down. I’ve resorted to spinning, eliptical machines and yoga/pilates instead.

  11. L says:

As a F cup and a long distance runner, I always always had to wear 2 bras. Tried the Enell (the oprah running bra) but it constricted my breathing. Ended up getting a shock absorber level 4 support bra and it is AMAZING. Only have to wear one, and it is fab.

What really helped me was going to a specialty bra store that had lots of athletic bra styles in my actual size and invested about $300 in a couple of pairs. (worth it for the back pain alone) I think the big box chains only go up to a DD and that’s just going to cut it.

    • cmc says:

Try the Lululemon TaTa Tamer and Moving Comfort’s Juno bra, too. Not as pricy as most and both of those bras wrangle my DDs nicely.

  12. cw says:

yep – I hear ya, i’m a 34DDD, i have to wear 2 bras, minimizers…and a shirt underneath bc it cuts me and i get blisters from the under-wires
i can’t only make it running about 2.2 miles then i’m done too painful
    it’s sooooo painful

    • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

That’s about as far as I can make it too since my bra is so tight I feel like it’s conspiring with my boobs to strangle me.

  13. Shelly says:

It’s very hard to lose weight, especially when you hit a certain age. In my 20s it was way easier to drop 10, and fast. I am sure she will lose the weight. Sounds like she’s already lost some, since there are going to be ads out soon. I hope she gets down to a healthy weight and doesn’t go overboard.

  14. sunshine says:

How is that surprising, when she ate nonstop and gained like, 70lbs? Not judging her or anyone but it stands to reason that if you gain a ton of weight you’re not going to lose it immediately, pregnant or not.

  15. Kimlee says:

Oh please, she’s just saying this to promote weight watchers.

  16. Cloud&Feather says:

I can relate, as I also have a large cup size (DD) and just one bad knee. I haven’t had to double up on bras while working out, but it was a pain in the ass trying to even find a sports bra big enough.

Weight Watchers isn’t about giving up food you like, but making better choices. They had a good recipe for macaroni and cheese which I still have even though I’m no longer on the program. She could certainly still have it.

I think she’ll be fine. She realizes it wasn’t wise to gorge like she did and she’s doing something about it.

  17. littlemissnaughty says:

I like Jessica, I really do. And I honestly don’t care about all this post-pregnancy weight loss hoopla and the contests these celebrity women seem to engage in. Who can lose it the fastest? I do NOT care! Relax, be with your baby, do whatever makes you happy.

However, I think it’s fair game to gossip about as soon as someone makes it about money and endorsements. And really, this interview was annoying. She didn’t know the weight wouldn’t automatically drop off once the baby came??? Oh hell. And no, honey, your body cannot possibly “bounce back” like that of a supermodel if you “indulge” like a woman possessed. Look at Giselle, do you really think she eats macaroni and cheese on a regular basis?
Yesterday there was that Kate Hudson story and while the woman has crazy good genes, she worked out like a maniac. There was no “bouncing back”. How would it be physically possible to get back into shape quickly after you gain as much weight as Jessica did? I cannot believe she really expected that to work.

Ugh, this is actually the first time that I don’t feel all that sympathetic towards the weight struggle of a new mom. Weight loss is a bitch and a half even without a baby but if you make it a business and act like you were given such a rough deal by nature? That’s where I’m out. Go ahead and call me a judgmental bitch, I’ll take it. 🙂

  18. Puffy Schmuffy says:

I think her remarks are to explain what to expect from the ‘big reveal’.
She has either not lost the weight or does not look that different so she’s setting up for the remarks likely to follow

    • Vesper says:

I think she will look really good at the big reveal, but only because she will go the surgery route.

She is never out in public, and has shown that she is super lazy and undisciplined, not to mention, vain. A person who is so lazy they won’t brush their teeth isn’t suddenly going to become disciplined with regards to food and exercise. A person who cares so little about their unborn child that they gorge on every unhealthy food possible isn’t suddenly going to become a super healthy eater, like she has suggested in other interviews.

“My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel,” is the stupid kind of statement I would expect from Jessica. She didn’t look like a super model long before she got pregnant. “Supermodel thin” she will never be.

  19. Diva says:

I kind of like the fact that a month after she had her baby she wasn’t back to her old body *cough cough* Beyonce. It sounds like she is losing the weight realistically. I wish her the best

  20. tacoskank says:

    who cares ?
everybody so fuggin’ fat & they be callin’ it ‘curvy’ ..
if kimode wit’ them stump legs and an ass 3 inches off the floor can go out in public so can jessica ..she just had a baby ..helloooo
the rest of ’em are fat bastards at 30 wit’ no kids …lol

  21. lucy2 says:

Good luck to her, but she did back herself into a corner with that endorsement.

I can’t run due to back problems, but I double it up when working out. I pass a lot of runners on my way to work each morning, and at least 1/3 of the women are out their flopping around. I’m so tempted to yell out the window “get a better bra!”

  22. Anna-fo-fana says:

Ladies, ladies!! Everyone who’s talking about having to wear two bras and such for sports needs to look into the Enell bra. I used to have trouble, too, but this bra keeps them locked and loaded – they aren’t budging – fo reals!

I sound like a spambot, heheh!

  23. ZigZagZoey says:

LMAO that so many of us have huge boobs here! They sure as hell get less and less fun to have as you get older…

I can’t wait to see how she looks. But seriously Jess, you were nowhere close to a supermodel BEFORE you got pregnant (weight wise). And hello, you are 32, not 22. That makes an enormous difference too. I still do like her, and hope she did well.

  24. Bobby sue says:

She’s still beautiful not matter her weight and she’ll lose it eventually.

  25. ladybert62 says:

I have never understood the love of running – not only is it bad for the joints in the knees and elsewhere but for women, it is bad for boobs.

I suppose if a female is very thin and has very small boobs, running is OK but for the average sized woman I just do not see it as a healthy form of activity.

Ok – let the bashing begin!

  26. MorticiansDoItDeader says:

I hate to be a cynic, but I think she may have had a bit of surgical intervention (which is why we haven’t seen her since that people cover, over a month ago).

    • ZigZagZoey says:

      Fellow cynic here…. 🙂
It is a bit suspicious. I guess it will depend on how she looks! If she looks like Mariah Carey, then it was surgery!
      😉

      • skuddles says:

I think you’re both very right to be cynics. It was heavily rumored on CDAN, before she had the baby, that she was going to go the surgery route (on the sly) to meet her weight loss obligations. And of course proudly proclaim look what WW did for meeee!!

      • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

@skuddles, THAT blind I definitely believe!

@triple Z (can I call you that? LOL) Mariah definitely had work done. There was one magazine cover photo where she had the tell tale tummy tuck belly button!

      • skuddles says:

Ah yes, the mortician would know a tummy tuck button when she sees one! 😀

    • Camille (The original) says:

I agree with all of the above.

When it comes to JSimpleton, Blowhan, Parasite Hilton, Aniston and the Kardashian Klan I become a huge cynic. 🙂

      • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

@skuddles , those and the breast implants that stand at attention (rather than fall off to the side (plus they’re naked, so I can see the incision scars).

  27. Winnie says:

I can sympathize with not being able to run. With nursing, they say not to wear constricting bras so as not to risk blocked ducts, so I am scared to wear the really great sports bra I used pre-pregnancy. So I just walk, too.

    • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

I had mastitis twice. The milk ducts became clogged from running with a bra that was too tight. The constriction and underboob sweat caused the infection. It’s painful and accompanied by flu like symptoms and fever. You’re definitely better off walking!

  28. ME says:

Wow, you ladies all have big boobs! I feel so alone…I don’t even have to wear a bra to work out or run. I can typically wear a work out top with a built in bra with no problem. I cannot even fathom how painful it would be with 10lbs attached to my chest!

    • skuddles says:

You’re not alone ME, I run around braless at home all the time. And my regular bra is plenty sufficient for jogging or yoga. I too feel feel for the big bosomed babes here who have to go to such lengths just to exercise. My sis is a DD and needs intense support so I can relate on some level…

  29. Pat Dorty says:

I wonder if that has anything to do with her not eating right? (i.e. eating anything and everything she saw/craved?) Not to mention she made no effort what soever to work out and stay in shape.

  30. Zoid says:

Why is it that some chicks(Jessica) can only talk about their large boobs? Yes, they’re large. Please promote something else now. It just reminds me of the annoying overweight girls in high school who would try and cover their insecurities by saying ‘but I have big boobs!!!!’ of course, she actually has a reason for the extra chunk. I hope for her sake she managed to make somewhat of a dent in the weight. She’ll be torn to shreds if not.

  31. Kim says:

I honestly don’t understand her. She runs a BILLON dollar clothes/shoe line. I’m sure she’s not struggling for money. While having a few more millions in the bank is probably a good feeling, not stressing herself out to lose the weight would have been too. Unless she thought she wouldn’t focus on it unless it but her in the headlines like it has.

Honestly after gorging on junk (buttered poptarts?!) …her own admission I don’t feel that bad for her. She has plenty of money to buy healthy nutritious food, and to see a nutritionist.

Hope she is doing more than “walking” if she is looking to loss weight..she needs to be doing cardio and some weight training if she wants to get back in shape.
I know her pain, I’m short too (but have small boobs!), but if you put the effort in, you’ll get the results.

    • Jen in MI says:

I think the WW deal was more for attention than for money. It must have been a shock to a celebrity like Jessica to have to announce her pregnancy on twitter because no magazine was willing to pay her for the story (since she was no longer a hot celeb). So when people started paying attention to her because of her weight gain (not her pregnancy), she ate it up and is now milking her weight “struggles” for all it’s worth.

    • Jessica says:

Jessica does not run her own company, Vincent Camuto is the brains behind the whole thing. Jessica only lends her name.

      • Jayna says:

Exactly. People think it’s her company and she created and built it. Daddy was smart. He hooked her up with this deal and she gets a percentage or licensing fee, etc. She is worth a little under 100 million, I think, not almost a billion that the company is inching toward being worth.

      • Vesper says:

Does she do anything in the company, other than lending her name?

  32. Bite me aka aniston says:

Her weight is the only thing keeping her in the spotlight and this dolt is going to continue milking it

  33. Amy says:

I’m glad she finally admitted her eating everything in sight during her pregnancy was not healthy. She kept raving about it and I was just thinking how much she was going to regret that after having the baby. Sometimes I’m amazed how clueless this girl is–she thought the pounds would magically come off after having the baby?? Oh well, at least she knows for the next baby! (If she decides to have one)

    • bluhare says:

And when I’d say just this (which I agree with 100%) while she was pregnant I got attacked by the Pregnancy Posse.

    • Cloud&Feather says:

Is she actually that clueless or is she working overtime to do the whole “dumb blonde” thing? Really, non-stop deep fried oreos are just going to up and quit your thighs? And (possibly) 70 lbs. along with it? Just because you gave birth?

    • normades says:

@Bluhare: You and me both babe.

“I let myself indulge in everything I wanted because it was the first time I was ever pregnant, and I wanted to enjoy it,”

Ha! I used to get slammed on this site when I said Jess was eating garbage all the time. People would insult me saying that she was just talking about her “cravings” or just indulging once in a while. VINDICATED!

      • Vesper says:

        @ Bluhare, @ Normades:

I used to get slammed as well. Some people told me that since I haven’t had a baby I should STFU. Other people accused me of hating pregnant woman.

They missed the entire point which was that pregnancy does not give someone the right to gorge themselves with nothing but crap foods, and by doing so they are putting their unborn child at risk. It is clear from Jessica’s interviews, as well as her huge weight gain that she wasn’t indulging periodically.

  34. busy ramone says:

I don’t feel any sympathy for her at all. She gorged on garbage food when she had all the money in the world to have a healthy, nutritious AND delicious pregnancy.

Instead she used her body and her unborn baby as a dumpster for sugar, unhealthy fats and chemicals. For that reason alone I think she’s an idiot.

IDGAF if she wants to eat her way to 300lbs, but she didn’t do that baby any favours by feeding it a steady diet of “slutty brownies” and buttered pop-tarts during her development.

I remember hearing on this site that Eric is a vegan and where he’s a former professional athlete it was likely for health reasons. He must have been absolutely disgusted by what Jessica was doing to their baby. I wonder if she’s already putting pixy sticks in the child’s milk.

  35. MrsBPitt says:

Jessica Simpson is the new Kirstie Alley…only known for her weight struggle these days…I’m sure we will be seeing Jessica on Dancing with the Stars soon!

  36. claire says:

No sympathy for her. She’s concerned about diet and healthy weight, now, as a vanity issue. But she didn’t care at all about eating healthy while she was pregnant, for the sake of her baby. Priorities in wrong order.

    • iheartjacksparrow says:

I’d like to know why her doctor didn’t set some guidelines for her. She should have been on a healthy diet, not eat deep fried everything and mac and cheese on a stick.

  37. Revlon10 says:

She still has a pretty face, and a healthy baby, a man who loves her, and tons of money.

  38. NM6804 says:

Everybody with half a brain knew exactly how this was going to end. She always had to work hard to maintain a healthy weight so why she thought she could let herself go without having to face consequences is beyond me.

I let myself indulge in everything I wanted because it was the first time I was ever pregnant, and I wanted to enjoy it,” Simpson, 32, tells USA Today.

Throughout the years, it was obvious that Simpson struggled with maintaining a certain weight. Regardless of her weight, she was always beautiful but let’s not pretend you never indulged before Simpson. Plus you don’t have to stuff your face everyday and brag about it to enjoy your pregnancy. Maybe she enjoyed it but there were also health risks to think about for her baby.

But Simpson didn’t quite understand how the indulgence would affect her post-baby body. “I didn’t realize [the weight] didn’t all come off with the baby,” says Simpson.

Please, again with the admitting that she ate crap yet let’s not judge her for it? You reap what you sow. I also highly doubt that no doctor ever told her it was not healthy and that a lot of her weight did not come from the baby but from that mac and cheese, poptarts etc. When you eat crap all the time, pregnant or not, your body will change for the worse and your health will suffer.

She hasn’t revealed her current weight, nor what she weighed at her heaviest, but says she’s lost weight each week on the program.

Why so coy now? First blabbing about eating crap, thinking it would magically dissapear after birth then announcing she would gain money for it and to top it off, make bold statements about losing tons of weight in a short amount of period even though she knows herself well enough that she is too lazy and dumb to actually achieve such goals. She basically set herself up for embarassement.

Great that she works out, lord knows the girl hates making that effort (if you saw her clips from her workout for the TDOH, you know what I mean) but she shot herself in the foot by promoting her weight loss.

Numbers aside, the star seems realistic. “My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel,” says Simpson. “I’m just your everyday woman who is trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, her fiancé and herself.”

No, no, no. Again with the “everyday woman” schtick. She’s rich, that already sets her apart from everyday woman. And everyday women do not get paid to shed their weight and they also have to work during their pregnancy to provide for their family. She is lazy and talentless (businesswoman my ass *eyeroll*). This is a woman who farts her way through meetings, has the IQ the equivalent of Spears or Aniston, has no decorum or filter in public whatsoever, no decent job but wants to be part of the “everyday woman” when it suits her agenda.

And supermodels do not bounce back. Usually they work out before, during and extremely hard after pregnancy. Even Bündchen. Supermodels have to work hard for their bodies though most won’t admit it.

She is just throwing a last-minute pity party because things didn’t go as smoothly as she thought. I won’t go easy on her.

  39. Isa says:

She wasn’t a supermodel to begin with so duh!
And she didn’t know it would take work? A baby is typically 10 lbs or less. You know you are gonna lose that at least. Plus maybe about 8-10 lbs other stuff. The rest has to come off some other way. Since she ate a ton of junk food she should’ve known it wasn’t just water weight.
And I wish she was more concerned about eating healthy when she was pregnant!
There. I’m harsh I know but her weight is all she ever talks about.
And bless your big boobied hearts! My dad always told me to be grateful I had small ones since I could run. But I dont really care to run!

  40. LooseSeal says:

Everyone saying they can’t run b/c of their big boobs needs to invest in a good running bra. They’re expensive, but the difference is unreal. Take it from 38DD who is attempting to be a runner!

  41. Kiyoshigirl says:

Sorry, but there’s no way she can claim ignorance about gaining the weight. She reads her press and she had to see the hundreds of articles that mentioned she was over indulging and would pay dearly after the baby was born. She was already under contract with WW and surely they consulted with her about a healthy pregnancy weight gain. I’m not buying that excuse…at all.

Now if she had just said she did what she wanted because she wanted to enjoy her pregnancy I would believe her, but she had to follow that up with a lame excuse. Two million buckaroos is a lot of incentive to gain and then lose weight. Tell it like it is Jess.

  42. Barrett says:

It’s ok to get a little chubby with pregnancy but when someone really over does it, it’s bad for the mom and the baby. Medical studies show it increases the child’s chances of getting fat due to increase in fat cells. Not too mention health issues for the mom. Not fair. I do feel bad that mom’s feel they instantly need to look like super models, it took 9 months to have the baby, it will take atleast 9 to get back to similar shape. I have several friends who gained a little more than they needed to and gave themselves that year and they look fantastic.

  43. Kadymarie says:

i feel even more insecure about my boobs now. im a small b but i wanna be a fuller b. i try double bra ing when i work out but i just hate sports bras

    • Palefire says:

Don’t I’m a A cup 🙁 like literally if u cut a lemon in half :(…… All u big boobies on here are making me sad. I don’t even really have to wear a bra. If ur self conscious and wanna look bigger get a Victoria secret bra that makes u 2 sizes bigger. Even with that I get no cleeve. Good luck 🙂

      • Isa says:

I hear you! I wear the victorias secret bra and I still have no cleavage. I could only fill it out while I was breast feeding!

  44. G says:

She’s a kabillionaire! Don’t feel sorry for her. All else fails she can go under the knife and suck it out. That said I like her lol!!

  45. Lisa says:

Umm, hardly anyone’s body does when you dip your poptarts in butter.

  46. anon says:

You must read the whole article & the nwe pics on US weekly with that interview she is 10 lbs shy of what she was before getting pregnant. Furthermore there is NO stiputaion with WW that she must lose 50 lbs its crazy one tab says 40 one says 50 just to create drama. She has never denied ever that she didnt eat a lot so for someone to say there glad she came forward with honesty it was always there. People just choose to ignore what is really being said & take exerpts of a article or conversation to make a story for there own.
What I really find more interesting is all the other pregnant celebs that are huge & ready to give birth or having just had a child & people think its all great & beautiful & no nasty comments on huge bellies. Tells me the media has an absolute agenda directed at Jessica..
You & I both know that come next Monday morning you will all have her diesected wethere she looks awesome or not.. Chances are the negative will out weight the positive for many. Sad actually that women have to continually trash other women.

  47. anon says:

lets also not forget everyone so far has given birth naturally except Jessica. She was C section so in actuality she is 6 weeks behind the normal weight loss. Think about it.

She also has had the largest baby to date.. just shy of 10 lbs.. lets be real here folks..

  48. shewolf says:

Supermodels start their pregnancies with a supermodel body. Then they eat right and exercise while pregnant. Then they do the same after the baby arrives. Its not rocket science how this happens!

I dont want to criticise Jessica because I love her and who really cares how much she weighed before, during and after the baby. But some things are your own doing.

    • RuddyZooKeeper says:

I’m not sure we can assume that supermodels eat right while pregnant … or after baby arrives, for that matter.

  49. Palefire says:

I like that she’s being open with her weight and losing weight, & how she will transform her body. It’s inspiring. I hope she gets in banging shape like she was years ago Jess has a pretty bod!!

  50. Kimbob says:

Well, good for her! I’m sure she’s frustrated, but she had a healthy baby, & Jessica, to me, is more “normal” than most celebs….i.e., she’s REAL.

At least we know she really had her baby…unlike Beyonce.

It sounds to me like she’s taking a sensible approach to losing her weight…again….good for her.

    • Vesper says:

Actually, we don’t know that she had a healthy baby. It’s not like she would release such details.

  51. the original bellaluna says:

Meh, she did what a lot of women do their first pregnancies – she indulged her every craving without fully realising how hard it would be to lose the weight afterward. (Kate Hudson did the same thing with Ryder.)

    • Memphis says:

I agree..but lets be real…at some point when you’re butterin’ up your fifth box of poptarts, or you’re on your 80th bowl of mac and cheese.. you start to think ” huh..maybe this 100 lb weight gain isn’t going to just drop right off after I have my 10LB baby” For her to act like it’s some great mystery she didn’t get is just silly.

I mean, even she can do simple math.

      • the original bellaluna says:

Oh no, I agree with you; even when I was pregnant with my first I didn’t eat like that! But I do think you’re giving her too much credit regarding her math skills. 😉

    • Stormy says:

I gained 65 pounds with my first.By the time he was 1 and 1/2 I was back to 115.I work at a resteraunt, and I ate any and everything with no shame.

  52. valentina says:

Wow she’s stupid and fat. All that weight coming off with the baby? Sorry honey. Stupid people with money

    • Isabel says:

She thought the baby would come out holding all the plates of food she has eaten over the course of the pregnancy. A take out restaurant straight out of the uterus.

  53. e.non says:

“I didn’t realize [the weight] didn’t all come off with the baby,” says Simpson.

    good grief.

  54. Belly says:

I do kinda feel sorry for her… only because I feel sorry for my own fat arse! I treated my first pregnancy like a licence to eat, and was always queasy but the only thing that would settle my stomach was eating.
So with that lesson learned there was no extravaganza pigout with the second pregnancy, but it took 3 years and finally a starvation shake diet to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight.

  55. normades says:

I do not feel sorry for her one bit. No one put a gun to her head to sign a multi-million dollar contract and no one forced her to gorge on the unhealthy food she eat.

Cry me a river Jess. You still have tons of money and you put yourself in this position. No pity whatsoever!!!

  56. BIGT says:

She took the money has every opportunity like chefs and Nannies. She is ALWAYS talking about her weight so get some discipline and loose it fatty.
